Change Rom - Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime Questions & Answers

Hi, I want to change my ROM and to ask some infos.
1) At the moment, what is the best stable ROM? I'm interested in longevity and possibly stock user experience (I will personalize it, after).
2) LOS based ROMs has some known issues? I cannot find anything specific about it. I'm talking about battery drain, FP not working and similar.
3) How much decrease photos quality?
4) Is it easy, if so, to go back to MIUI ROM?
Thanks in advice.

LOS is the most stable in my opinion and experience.
You can reveres to MIUI, by flashing ROM from xiaomi.eu .

Validus is the best one, best battery life, good customization and best performance

For both ROM, I can update with OTA or I need to flash manually updates?

How stable are the Oreo Roms?

I am on stock Nougat 7.0 February security patch. I am wondering, Will the Oreo ROMs 64 or 32 bit will improve the performance and battery life?
Stock Nougst ROM has been better and more stable than all Nougat custom ROMs. I am wondering if stock is still the better option or if Oreo custom ROMs will bring a better performance? Anyone who's gone from stock Nougat to Oreo let me know your experience, thank you.
In terms of battery backup, performance and especially stability you won't find any better than stock firmware. As long as there are security updates for stock, I see no reason to switch. This is of course only my personal opinion.

I read that question, but since January there has been many improvements and updates to the Oreo custom ROMs. Many bugs have been fixed and I didn't know if it had become close to stable as stock.

So according to you, which is the best & stable custom rom for Moto G5+? and which rom you are currently using?

It's really astonishing that every week a thread with that question pops up here, I think at the moment we have three or four of these. Why has everyone to open a new thread to ask a question that can't be answered?
The only valid answer is: Try them out.
There is no "best" custom ROM, if there would be one we only needed that, all other ROMs would be obsolete.
But to give you a direction:
Imho the stock ROM is the best in terms of battery and performance.
All Oreo ROMs have bugs, some just small ones, others bigger ones. Examples are camera, video recording or high battery consumption.
Also there are some big problems if you want to return to stock, losing voLTE, losing 4G or IMEI are well known in this forum.
I wouldn't flash any Oreo ROM before Lenovo releases stock Oreo, the bugs can be sorted out and there will be safe ways to return to stock if you wish.
If you still want to flash a custom ROM Aosp Extended 4.6 based on Nougat is a good one but don't forget to make a nandroid backup before you flash anything.
This is only my personal opinion, as written above to find "your" best ROM you'll have to test them.

Suggest Rom with the best battery performance

Hi guys,
After a disappointing stay at Oreo for several months, I downgraded to Nougat. Things are a bit better but far from marshmallow I recalled when I got the phone.
I got a bit older so I am not so fond of trying different roms every month.
So before downgrading to stock marshmallow for good , is there any other rom with a better battery performance? I just need a stable rom (I don't care if it is not supported anymore) with the most optimum battery life.
Is that too much to ask?

Best battery life without you having any involvement would probably be straight stock.. You can get as good battery life as you want with any rom by taking control, with root apps for disabling system services and apps, firewall, kernel tweaks, etc... If you're not interested in doing the work, just use straight stock rom with Greenify or something.
OmniROM, actually the best battery/performance ROM on this device http://dl.omnirom.org/kugo/

Levone1, my attempt to do so in Oreo failed miserably
It was better though, but far from ideal. Maybe though I didn't mess with kernel, so I can't really blame Oreo (yet!).

Is flashing custom roms worth?

1. Is is worth flashing roms? Am I missing out much with the Stock oos?
2. Is it possible to receive the updates after flashing a custom kernel.?
3. And what are the best custom roms right now (with working fp )?

1. Absolutely. Oos is far better than any other stock os I've ever used but it's far from what custom has to offer.
2. Yes, but you will likely have to flash the updates and that means reflash your kernel, twrp, and magisk.
3. As far as I know all the time have the same fingerprint patch in use and it works great. As far as what's best, that's purely a matter of opinion. Back up your data however you feel like and just start flashing until you find something that suits your needs.

Which is the BEST Custom rom for our RN7 Lavender ?

Moving from MIUI to custom rom . Help me to flash best rom so far .
Pixel experience plus based on Android 9 is best rom at present.
In terms of overall speed, stability, and smoothness I'll go with LineageOS Unofficial by AmyluaX. I came from Pixel Experience, which I loved, but that additional speed and smoothness on LineageOS impressed me. Battery didn't impress me on both ROMs, but then again you can flash a kernel and play around with its settings for improvements.
I need battery + customization.
Even i need help.
Which rom other than miui has face unlock too?

Here is the thread for syberia , all instructions are there. Make sure you make a backup of internal storage and of Modem and efs partition too (extremely important). If after installing the rom you see a screen that asks for password , you will need to format data.
Also before putting any security on lock screen , first check if your device is encrypted ( in security menu). Otherwise your password/pattern/PIN will be shown as wrong

I've tried a few custom ROMs, and the best I've found so far for my Redmi Note 7, and the one I'm currently using, is the Pixel Experience Plus Android 9.0 for Lavender dated 2019-09-16.
It's fast, clean, and stable, and offers the full Pixel experience with a few extra features thrown in. The 2019-09-16 build is stable. The 2019-09-12 build is not. Here is the link to the stable build, the one I'm using.

Lineageos with Gapps is the best custom rom for me but it has not face unlock
