Confused :s

The ota is coming sept 11th.. it was just released yesterday but apparently there was some radio and network issues on a few carriers so they pulled the ota... google is releasing the fixed ota on sept 11th.. after that its gonna be only maintance updates and security patchs for 8.0.0 until the next android version comes out.. it is stable on a few carriers but tmobile got hit and their working on that now...

True, lol

I don't understand the point of this post. Everyone at this point should be on stable. If you aren't, then just flash the OTA, or the factory image. As for the OTA coming out today, there is no mention of this anywhere.....Fake News!!

Android is always beta. There's always something little thing even at the end of the version

930U Android Security Patch Level

I just flashed the unlocked 930U ROM on my Verizon S7. I notice that the Android Security Level is all the way back to May. Is there any way to force an update of this?
Go to Korea and kidnap the team responsible for updating that rom. Then, force them to build a rom with the newest security patch. Easy as pie...

LMAO no no no I meant to catch up to whatever the newest is. Maybe my understanding is wrong, but I thought that the security updates were pushed out separate from the actual ROM update itself.

They haven't had any so no way to get them.
May is the latest patch date for the 930u. I've been checking daily for an update. I even have the Samsung Smart Switch app installed on my PC looking for the updates for the phone. I'm not sure if the updates are going to come OTA or if they will be a PC download only. It would be nice to get one!

NOF27D (7.1.1) & N2G47E (7.1.2) - April 2017 update is out

Hi,
First Monday in a new month and Google release a new security update (April 2017).
-> Download (NOF27D)
-> Download (N2G47E)

Changelog
There's a D or E version. Am I missing something on mobile view?
There are three, and only one is labeled. So tired of this issue. I tweeted at them, last month the fixed it right away. Dunno if my tweet has anything to do with it.
Edit: Nevermind, I'm an idiot. They are labeled correctly. One is 7.1.1, other two are 7.1.2.
D 7.1.1
e 7.1.2

Why would Google release 7.1.1 and 7.1.2 for Pixel? I was thinking that in April they would release 7.1.2 software update and not 7.1.1
7.1.1 (NOF27D, Apr 2017)
7.1.2 (N2G47E, Apr 2017)

In case 7.1.2 still has some bugs and someone would prefer to stick with 7.1.1? Doesn't hurt to have choices, it's a good thing!

Makes sense, but if my phone has 7.1.1 March update, then which version will be offered via OTA 7.11 or 7.1.2?
N2G47E finally brought WiFi call on Deutsche Telekom Germany (didn't use the N2G47J DT edition since I set up my phone with the unbranded version in the first place - what's the difference anyway?!).

Yes, about an hour ago. All done now and I'm on April 5th security and 7.1.2
Any of you that got OTA, were you running beta or public ver before the update? My phone at the moment has beta version.

I received the 7.1.2 OTA updated (USA, Boston area, AT&T). I've never had any of the beta versions on, I received the OTA update coming from the March 7.1.1 stock factory image.

I'm fully stock Verizon model locked bootloader on Project Fi. I believe that if you're on the beta it's a "later" build than the OTA 7.1.2 and you will not receive it. You will have to wait for an OTA from beta to release sometime in the future, or if you want rollback to the 7.1.1 March release and wait for the April OTA or sideload it. But that will wipe your device and you might not want to do that.

Update: Your theory could be correct that beta version could be newer and the phone needs to wait for a beta build. When beta program ends, then phone will automatically get public build or I can cancel the enrollment myself.
Understood! When I enrolled into beta program a week ago, my phone installed: NPG47I. I thought that when public version (7.1.2) is released, the phone with beta software should get it too. Before I enrolled into beta, the phone was running 7.1.1 and after getting into beta, the phone received 7.1.2.
Hi all, sorry if this is a silly question but if I'm rooted with TWRP should I not do an OTA update?
If I do it will it go through fine and I will just lose those mods?

I'd also like to know. I'm on Verizon version with an unlocked bootloader. I'm pretty sure I can't do any OTA's in order to save root right?

3rd post in the thread below. Just get the 7.1.2 image instead of the 7.1.1 that I mention in the post.
Pay attention to removing the -w from flashall bat file. That is how you save your dara and apps.
Second to the last post to reroot.

Is OP5 getting a KRACK update?

Just wondering.
Google is patching it in a few weeks for their Nov patching. I hope Oneplus takes it seriously and we see it soon after. Id say sometime in December
That's included in the monthly security patches. It all depends when Google release the patch and when OnePlus releases an OTA with said patch.
Custom ROMs should getting fairly fast though.
According to androidcentral.com, this issue is fixed in the November, 6th 2017 security patch (n the 4.5.13 OOS upadate, the security patch is September.). The best thing to do is to wait for this patch to be deployed by oneplus and use only mobile data in the meantime
As far as I understood it's a problem within wpa_supplicant. Isn't there a chance to fix this with, e. g. a MAGISK Module?
Omnirom 7.1.2 released a update today, its fixed already
Anyway news on KRACK fix in OOS?

Still no news on the KRACK Fix ... oneplus must be working on the 5T ... sad that the flagship from May gets so little support ...
It's on the latest update, kinda stupid that it's not Rolling out to everyone at the same time
Yes, it's fixed
You can get OOS 4.5.14 right now if you use xXx's no limits OOS based ROM
But if you want to stay on stock waiting is the best thing to do

If you are running stock unmodified OOS with stock recovery, just download turbo vpn on playstore and set your location to Germany. Then check for the update, you will get it right away. No need to wait!
I think people are saying the 4.5.14 update has the fix (don't quote me on this though)
Now that the latest build fixes this Krack issue, Moderators can close this thread.

True lol. I think there's maybe one more security patch and then we should be receiving the Oreo update, since I saw Honor recently tweet about Oreo preparation for the Honor 7x.
Yup I finally got it. Looks like it is rolling out to everyone today.

Lol. I know one of the devs for Honor USA and there is NO Oreo release for the 7x for main distribution yet. They just started the beta a month ago. Go check honor USA beta group on Facebook if you need confirmation.

Honestly I see no difference
Hi guys,
I just got this update too on my FRD L04. Since it's been a while I factory reset after an update, I did so to clean up my phone of all the other junk I've been stacking. Well this was a huge mistake because now the my bluetooth earphone won't connect to my phone. Before factory resetting, and on B392 it worked perfectly fine, I don't know why and how the factory reset messed with the Bluetooth connectivity. Anyone have a solution for this? Thanks.

ASD8 Update

Has anyone been able to find a full changelog for the ASD8 update? Just got it this morning and I havent been able to find any full changelog except for the little vague one Samsung released.
Am on ASD5 still , didn't receive updates , you can check the link in the update option
Runs cooler now I think.

I didn't get it either so I tried to manually updating it from firmware.science and that was a no go. I get an error so I guess it's only from when you're updating from asd3 and I'm still on asd5
Odin? It doesnt discriminate against current FW

You should see an update soon on U1. Att finally updated to the May Patch, so the U1 may show up soon. The April patch showed up shortly after all the carriers released.
That said, on the S9, the U1 only got quarterly updates. You may end up waiting longer on U1.

What does that thread say of Q?
Q hasn't dropped yet, so unless you have a pixel, your unlikely to have access to Q.
On the S9/+, we got the P beta October or November if I remember correctly. Pretty sure it was August before Pie was official. Samsung doesn't usually dabble in the betas, they wait for the official before they start their beta process.
