Did XT1581 update to Android 8.0 Oreo any day? - Droid Turbo 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My mobile phone is XT1581 with android 7.0.
I realy wants to know if there is a offical way to update it to android 8.0?
I bought it in China but I have update it to US version 7.0.
Thanks!

the 18 months support on this models is off now, if one miracle succed, is going to have Android 7 or 8 AOSP/LineageOS ported, but even this two options becomes a dream (no android developer was interested in our phones), we are stock in 6.0/7.0 OEM

P8 and Android Nougat

Our fantastic device will recieve Android 7 Nougat update? Any reliable links? Good summer! :good:
According to IBTimes UK's article - Android 7 Nougat release date: When will the major new update will come to your phone:
Huawei doesn't make any such promises, but it also isn't known to hang around too long. Last year, the company launched the Mate 8 smartphone in November and that came with the latest Android pre-installed. A new Mate 9 phone, expected to be shown at the IFA technology show in September and released before Christmas, could well be Huawei's first Nougat handset. As for current and older handsets like the Huawei P8 and P9, these should receive Nougat in late 2016 or early 2017.

This article above is just pure speculation, author believes that Huawei is as good as Samsung in terms of updates which means 2 new Android versions for every fagship. It's a mistake, Huawei is much worse, they never gave two updates for any P series flagship. Marshmallow was the last update.
I got Marshmallow updates B321a and B370 for my Huwei P8, not sure we will ever get android N updates for P8, now for huawei p9 there already is a developer preview of android N you can find info on youtube. In regards to huawei updates versus samsung, samsung are pure garbage when it comes to updates except their flagship phones, huawei p8 Lite got official updates from kitkat to lollipop and now to marshmallow.
1. P8 was a flagship (premium built midranger is a better description).
2. In my country P8 Lite started on 5.0 Lollipop (Kirin version). A5 2015 started on KitKat in 2014 (it's almost a year older than P8 Lite), Samsung updated it to Lollipop and Marshmallow.
I think too we will got Android 7. The P8 is a relative actual flagship. Older devices is i think not sure. But an example that huawei is not as bad in updates as someone say: the Mate 7 starts with Android 4 kitkat and received Android lollipop (5) and got android Marshmallow. Ok that is a Mate and not a P Modell, but i think we have good chances.
Also P8 started on kitkat , was updated to lollipop and now to marshmallow. In regards to A5 in my country that phone was sold as a premium device (even if it has 410 chipset and 720x1280 display) and almost twice the price of P8 lite and the release date gap isn't that big between the 2, December 2014 for A5 and May 2015 for P8 lite. Anyway i really hope that P8 will get N as i love this phone, worst case scenario i will just buy a P9 when the price drops a little.

Obviously, show me an article of this nature about a Huawei P8 Nougat update that isn't.
The P8 never started with Android 4 (kitkat).....Never Ever. The device before the Ascend 7 yes. But the P8 starts with Android 5. That u can read on every Page.

Mine came with android 5.0 B200 Firmware, it seems GSM arena's page is wrong than.

P8 will never get Android 7 Nougat. It has rubbish ancient GPU (Mali-T628 from 2012) which doesn't support Vulkan API.

Show me an article with a source of those claims. They're pure speculations by ignorants, they hope that Huawei is as good as Samsung in terms of updates. It's not - it's much worse.

A lot of italian site says that P8 will have at 90% Nougat
They're pure speculations by technological ignorants (copy+paste). "P8 is a flagship which means good support". Not in Huawei. They stopped updating P7 after Lollipop (phone started with KitKat on board), Marshmallow was last update for P8. They have one more argument now (that mostly ignorant technological journalists don't know about) - GPU is too old.

Is Android 6.0 Official already there or comming soon for G7-L01?

I was confused by seeing a new firnware version at huawei website places 5th of august 2016 that ends with C636B320 and if i google that it looks like it could be android 6.0?
There is no version number written on the website:
http://consumer.huawei.com/my/support/products/downloads/detail/ascend-g7-my.htm?id=86353
I tried installing it on my phone but I always get installation failed, maybe because my phone is from a different region..
Anyway would be great if they bring an official android 6 update for our G7!
The firmware you linked to is Lollipop.
Android 6.0 is currently only official in Turkey and China, but we are still waiting for the European version to be released.
Unfortunately, we don't know how long we will need to wait for it, if it is ever released.
Also, you are correct that you are unable to install the update since you are only able to install updates from your own region, or carrier (if your device is branded).
Ok I see, a download link of 6.0 is availible on this site, but will probably not work because of different region..
But I will try it, i'm dowloading it now.
Was it successfull? I am still waiting for this update to be released for european devices.

Nougat 7.0 announced on TMOUS Stylo 2 Plus - very impressive

Found this and I'm getting a large update (364 MB) as we speak. Not sure if this is it, but even the fact that they plan to go to Nougat is impressive to me to do it so fast and on such a reasonably-priced phone.
EDIT: It wasn't 7 - just the August security update, I think : |
364 MB is Too small for Nougat.
It's a good phone. Not surprised one bit that it's getting 7.0 Nougat. stylo 2 plus just came out this year
When will my lg stylo 2 have the 7.0 nougat update? (Boost mobile)

That announcement was only for TMOUS - there are some unique features to a T-Mo ROM such as WiFi calling, so Boost would be a completely different story.
Manufacturer Development means lg is evaluating and creating the update when is ready is released and always is 800 mg to 1.4 gb
Software Version: Android 7.0 "Nougat"
T-Mobile and the device manufacturer have agreed to support a new software update.

Ok so your saying that U.S.A. will definitely have the update even though Huawei says that they do not support in the USA for this phone? I need to be sure because I have already decided what my replacement is if I can't upgrade this and will be returning in a couple of days.
Unread count icon badge is not showing anymore in my mate 8 64 GB
Any help how to make the unread notification badge work again on my mate 8 using stock room
Thanks

I'm not trying to be an a** about this, but, I'd really like someone to answer this question.
What difference, in "real world use" does it matter if you have 6.0 or 7.0?
I ran my mate2, on 4.3 for well over a year before they released the 5.x update, and, had they not given an easy way back, I probably
would have stayed on it. It was just THAT stable. Huawei's 5.x was very stable on my Mate2, and I kept it 100% stock, until September
when I upgraded to the Mate8. 6.x on my version of the mate8, is just flat out stable (Nova Launcher Prime). I'm not a gamer, but I
do a ton of phone (2000 minutes/month), lots of web based work related things, streaming, Mp3's, email, text, photos (Camera FV-5).
I use to be a flash-a-holic back in my PDA phone days, but, phones to me, are "tools". I just pick them up and use them. The version
of software isn't important as is stability. As long as my apps are supported, the version to me, personally, makes no difference.
Don't get me wrong...you guys that flash, tweak, and run the bleeding edge stuff, eventually makes it better for everyone, but, I just
can't wrap my head around being pissed off if a phone, 6-12 months old, as long as it works as built won't get a newer version of
Android. I can see minor builds, patches, but going from say a 5.0 to 6.0 or 6.0 to 7.0 is a "major" update and perhaps the hardware,
as built by a vendor won't support it, but if your phone works, what's the big deal?
Maybe I've been out of the flashing all the time thing to figure it out.

Does anyone know when the Android update for the Huawei Mate 8 in America will come or is there a way to update the OS through flashing since update isn't supported in America. Thank you.
The last OTA update on L29, if I remember correctly, was B180. The B320 was done via the dload method. I suppose you could use the same even if Huawei do not push a Nugat OTA update in America. But as pointed out, do wait for the official as the current beta is buggy.

SM-G9550 Oreo Beta 8.0 rolled out to Beta testers with CHINA [CHC]Branding

Hi there, it seems Samsung would like to share the Oreo Beta with us. CHC Branding required and Beta app
its Android 8.0.0 (OPR1.170623.032.G9550ZCU2ZQL8)
Details on Pictures below
Oreo Beta
Could you do a system pull and boot img pull from your device and upload?
Hi bruh, how did you get Oreo for G9550? I just got a used galaxy s8+ (g9550) yesterday. Still on Nougat 7.0, build number NRD90M.G9550ZHU1AQG6, with baseband version G9550USQU1AQGL.
I have no luck checking the system update menu. I'm not living in China/Hongkong, I guess that's why I don't get the update. Is it possible for me to update it manually? I mean like flashing through odin?
I am in China, bought the G9550 in HK, and I am also on 7.0, not getting any ota updates.
Seems strange, because if you check their official website, you can see they have the Oreo manuals for G9550 already.
Hi. I also bought SM-G9550 and I live in Poland. It is shame that for a such a big market oreo update is still not available... Do you know if there is any altrenative in already available builds that will work on this one?
