What works/does not? I'm one of the few who still has this incredible phone, and I love it even to this day and running android 4 on it would be awesome The only problem I have with ICS on this phone, is that camera does not work, and I kinda need it to work, both video and photo.

Note that this is intended for testing purposes. Code is not clean yet and may contain undiscovered bugs. If you use Android for your everyday activity make a backup of all your files before trying. I'm helping with testing on my second SD card but I'll wait for it to get committed into "mainline" kernel before I switch to my "everyday" system.

...where's the fun in having stable system with no bugs i mean we all came from wm which was fun to play with because every time it was a new adventure hehe just kidding, you've got the point, now people from xdandroid have to get the code and implement it in frx05 or maybe gb*** since neopeek booted gingerbread on his diamond

Hi, Spige,
When you mention camera working, does that mean including the 5Mpix?
3MP works fine for me with (almost) latest viruscrazy kernel, but I haven't been able to get 5MP working, did you?
If you're ahead of the others, please keep us informed of exact android build / modules, etc you're using!
Cheers,

Instructions are clear, as Eodun mentioned, if you get stuck somewhere specific, post and we'll help you out, of course!
Maybe one important thing to add:
I noticed you're using an eclair build, I personally never got camera working on the couple eclair builds that I tried. (nor proper headset detection, which was a dealbreaker)
Maybe someone can confirm if camera is even possible at all on eclair, before aladin keeps on trying with his (which specific?) build?
Cheers,

Damn you Google...
Just so people interested in compiling the sources know :
I wanted to compile sources.
repo did not work : you CAN'T use last python3, downgrade to python 2.7
make : you CAN'T use last make 2.82, downgrade to make 2.81
Java you CAN'T use last openjdk7, you CAN'T use opejdk6, downgrade to sun's java 6 SE
Perl : you CAN'T use perl 5.14, downgrade to perl 5.12...
maybe more, but I can't tell you, because I gave up from there....
come on... what the hell Google ?!
Bruno.
Well looks like CM9 will be out in about 2 months..hope it gets ported to our device soon after that.

Maybe you could ask him for directions?
Because MarcellusBE tried but couldn't boot, if he could boot it, maybe he could also delete some of the bugs (since he had to do the same for CM&).
Also another question from me, did he port from Sources or from the SDK?
Because the things you explained reminded me of the ICS SDK port (No touchscreen working, no camera or wifi and the changing of the dpi(link to that thread here))

[DISCUSSION] - CM9 discussion thread

As I posted in the dev thread let's bring the chit chat into the general forum and keep the dev thread on topic and clear for people to help the devs move this rom forward.
So this thread is for all the GENERAL CM9 discussion.

Despite this, people will still go to the development thread to ask questions, request features, banal talks... etc.
Maybe use this thread to summarise FAQ's found in the other thread (and subsequently this thread)
Edit the first post to stay on top of things?
In summary, no exfat on CM9, use ext4 format if you must have files over 4Gb (that's all I know so far, I don't have CM9 installed yet)
*subbed*
Get xplod to put a link to this thread in the development OP? A link to that thread from here wouldnt hurt either
is there a way to block calls in cm9? (without having to install an apk from the market)
I don't have phone yet; however, was wondering if on cm9, do you still have the same camera function as with touchwiz, like fast burst, best shot, taking pic while recording? I don't really care about losing s voice.

@simms22 I'm trying to learn how to port with my growing older by the minute Nexus 4 before I switch over to something new with the Nexus line in jeopardy. I attempted to port over the Nexus 5 4.4.4 version to the Nexus 4 so that I had Google Now with a swipe to the left. I never really used the "Ok Google" function

I'll be honest, I don't think L is ready to be ported. I ran it three times on my n5. it is nice, but its buggy as heck. and there is no real source for it(to use). what's published is very incomplete. it also has kernel changes and new binaries that aren't published. you can't build a nexus 5 ROM from it.

[D6503/02] [WIP] SailfishOS is incoming to Xperia Z2!

Hello there, XDA!
June 29 I started porting SailfishOS to our device and I got it to boot to UI with touch working, thanks to @Mister_Magister
It's not android even though it requires CM12.1 to be installed as base.
For know It's only for D6503 model.
What's working so far:
- UI
- LCD
- Touch
- RIL (no LTE)
- WiFi
- Cellurar data
- LED Diode
- Buttons
What's not working:
- Bluetooth
- Cameras
- DASH(sensors)
What's untested:
- GPS
I would call it early alpha in this stage, but hopefully we'll get it to work
ZIPs will be released to public once everything is working, but I might PM random people from this thread if I needed testers (it would be nice to see some d6502 owners
Thanks to Mister_Magister, mal-, sledges, xperiasailors and all the #sailfish-os porters community.
