It's totally independent of the official Oreo. In fact, Sony doesn't use these sources at all. My gut tells me that our OEM has problems with some functions and this is why the update takes so long.

And, I'm looking for info here: Which Xperia Models will get Android Oreo?

They made good infographics about update cycle:

So it's done when it's done, guys.

I'm Italian and I flashed the Customized DE, no problem for me for now.

Sometimes I don't really understand the rollout-process. My sister in law got a branded X, mine is without provider branding at all. She got the update ota about two or three weeks ago.
I always thought it would be quicker without a provider in between....
But doesn't matter, I won't suffer if it takes a few days / weeks longer. I'm happy Oreo arrives at all!

When can we expect the update to be rolling out on devices then? What was the trend in case of previous certifications? Days? Weeks?

4.4.3 or 4.5 lets think about this later, for now I'm just bothered to get my hands on KK, (we keep updating and actually don't know why we are doing that! we do same stuffs on all updates). Don't know when SONY will roll out 4.4.2 for our devices.
We just get a Lolly Pop from Sony to shut up & wait forever for updates!

I wouldn't be to worried about getting updates... i'm sure we will get atleast 5.0 because our device is very powerful and the xperia z has started with 4.0 and also gets this update.I think you'd better be optimistic as you just spund around 500euro's on a phone... they should update this!

DO NOT FLASH IF YOU HAVE THE TAIWAN Z2! It will not read the SIM! Make sure you get the TW version once that comes out! I had to learn the hard way and flash back to the original TW ROM!
So is there an FTF for D6503 floating around? I see screenshots, but only an FTF for D6502.

Which you can get here: https://mega.co.nz/#!yww10BIS!-w3l29-V3pLKAatJr5hZj2FkK37M_arDc-xNgcIvMns
Update: Installed this and it works fine on the Z2 I got from Taiwan. You will have to reconfigure your APN settings even if you didn't do a wipe when installing this ROM. After about 30 minutes of usage I did notice some positive changes:
- The touchscreen sensitivity has improved
- Touch to focus works a lot better (it barely worked on the previous ROM)
- Safari is snappier oops wrong phone
Quick question guys, do xperia phones get otas regularly or do most updates come via the Sony PC software and have to be installed manually. Got a HTC one just now and kinda unfamiliar with the whole process with Sony. If anyone could explain it quickly that would be appreciated.

don't rolled out for O2 DE yet
this is for Customized DE
This update finally fixed my issue I was facing with distorted voice calls when connected to WIFI and LTE (at the same time)! I've installed it on both my Z3 and my wife's Z3 compact (which was also facing the same issue) and the calls are now all crisp and clear when connected to both WIFI and LTE at the same time. Finally. It was seriously starting to frustrate me (and my wife).

Android 5.1.1 is rolling out to Xperia Z1
Xperia Z1 is currently running on Android Lollipop OS which had received a few months ago and now it is going to receive Android 5.1 soon. Sony had announced in last month that they are going to rollout the update to Xperia Z1 in this month and the update already certified for Xperia Z3 and Z2. The next in line in Xperia Z series to receive the Android 5.1.1 update is the Xperia Z1. So Xperia Z1 will receive the update by the end of this month. According to previous schedule of rollout of Android Lollipop, Sony will rollout the update to Xperia Z1 first in Middle East countries and then in American and European countries.
Retail and unlocked editions of Xperia Z are going to receive the update sooner than carrier editions. Major carriers in the US will rollout the Android 5.1.1 update to Xperia Z1 in next month. In the UK also, carriers may rollout the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop in next month.
Android 5.1.1 for Xperia Z1 Compact and Xperia Z1 Tablet
Xperia Z1 Compact and Z1 Tablet also receives the Android 5.1.1 update along Sony Z1. But Sony will rollout the Android 5.1.1 update to Xperia Z1 Compact and Z1 Tablet later than Z1. Sony may advance the schedule to rollout to Xperia Z1, Compact and Tablet at the same time but it will be not possible in most conditions. So Compact and Tablet are going to receive the update in next month.
In this rollout too, the Retail and unlocked editions of Xperia Z1 Compact and Tablet will receive the update at first. Carrier locked editions will receive the update in August or September.

In Sony forums they said this new firmware would deal with the USSD bug.
Edit, also certified for the D6633: https://www.ptcrb.com/vendor/complete/view_complete_request_guest.cfm?modelid=27777
In the Xperia forums they reckon they will roll out the new firmware within a month or so.
