Encrypted internal Memory. Unable to install zip files using TWRP. - Huawei P10 Plus Questions & Answers

Hello everybody/anybody?
I have managed to wipe my phone with the intention of installing a zip file which I placed in the internal memory. However,I foolishly wiped my phone without checking I could access the zip file and it turns out that my internal memory is encrypted and I cannot see any files. So I can't access the Zip files to restore any ROMs. I have tried sideloading this: no-verity-opt-encrypt-5.1.zip, But it failed...
Any help gratefully received.

If you follow the steps correctly in Recovery, then you should see the whole directory listed of you SD card. If you don't see this, probably your SD card is defect. Try with another card.
Good luck.
what have u tried anyway?

I did nvflash for second time but some problem. this 16gb sd that i am using was an old sd from my hd2, i did a partition and extension in the recovery during the time i use the hd2. so i wonder if that affect it?
so far i didn't take any steps beside 1: redid the nvflash, i choose the internal sd and nand option.
AS USUAL
WIPE WIPE WIPE
wipe data
wipe cache
wipe dalvik
back to main screen
mounts and storage select format/system
install rom from sd card
Install gapps
Reboot enjoy
If coming from previous version just wipe cache and dalvik

Files not showing in android but visible in recovery

Happy new year everyone!
After removing MultiROM using the uninstall method and also flashing uninstall .zip file in recovery the phone stopped booting the OS. I think some MultiROM leftovers messed the boot process. Flashed the boot.img and recovery.img, than the TWRP recovery again, but nothing worked. Wiped dalvik, cache, system partitions and flashed a stock 5.0.1 zip file and the boot problem was solved.
The issue now is that I cannot see any files on SD Card neither on phone or windows explorer. I however am able to see all the files from the TWRP file manager. After reading some forums I think I have to force some rescan of the SD card or something like that. I tried using apps like SD Rescan, but nothing has fixed the issue.
Root Explorer shows 6GB used and 6GB free although the SD card appears empty. Disc Usage app shows that I have 4GB "System data"which is the files that I have on the SD card.
I got the files using recovery and may try to format the data partition, but don't know if it will work. So any ideas that will spare me from that exercise are very appreciated.

TWRP Format Data

Hi all sorry for asking a dumb question, but would "format data" button inside TWRP's Wipe section (the button above factory reset) also delete a TWRP backup?

If your twrp backup in microsd card then it will not delete.
"Format data" will delete ( system/data/cache/dalvic cache/internal storage)
If you are planning to clean your device to install new clean rom then Make a backup of current rom and all your data in microsd card/usb drive before you do this.
So if the backup was in the internal sd it would have been deleted then right?

Yes it will be deleted
Go to my files and copy entire TWRP folder from internal storage to microsd card if you need your backup.
Thanks!

After FORMAT DATA there is nothing there to recover.
Everything has gone, sorry.
Only if you had made a TWRP backup, stored in the external sdcard, then you could restore it and get your DATA files back.
But in that case also, your personal files(pictures, music etc) are not included in this back up.
Only APPS data, meaning files that make apps working, are restored this way.
ALL your personal data, are stored in the internal storage.
If you have performed a DATA format, nothing is there anymore.

So you can recover data if it was not overwritten, even if it was deleted. You can use special software.
Which options do we need to select to backup existing ROM? And to do a recover in case of device failure.
Boot? System? System Image? Vendor? Vendor Image?
Maybe a dumb question but: If you format data, can you boot in current rom?

No, you can't lol. Format data wipes everything on the storage of the device. You better install a rom after wiping everything or you will get stuck in bootloader / bootloops.
In some a/b slot devices, if you don't have a rom installed, your custom recovery is also wiped because it usually resides on the boot.img.

Hi friend, im a noob here, I need some help
I bought Oneplus 5 Chinese version with Hydrogen Os.
I follow all steps, download the full oxygen rom + OTA on 3 different links and downloaded the adb and minimal fastboot.
i made all steps doing the developer android activation on OS, usb debugging and etc.
i booted it on recovery chosen adb installation and made all prompt commands, when it start to install it failed on 0% and the phone gives me the Installation Failed note, I need to know if the correct rom is that folder or zip that I download on one plus site. when I copy the *.zip or folder to internal storage on the phone it doesn't recognize on that system update menu with local update. I have tried many times and with different forms, what I did wrong?

Put the OOS rom in the root directory of your sdcard (not in a subfolder), then boot into recovery and choose install from internal storage. After flashing the rom do a data factory reset and you should be good to go. Don`t know for sure if you have to unlock the bootloader first because its a Chinese device.

The doubt is I really don't know if the correct (FULL OXYGEN ROM) file to copy is a zip file or any other extension file? I downloaded on website, inside it has some folders and some IMG and DAT files.
when you said SD CARD you mean put the zip file inside a REAL SD CARD? or you mean the internal storage on the phone?
i have copied the downloaded zip file on internal storage root, and when I made a boot recovery and chosen the internal storage it finds the zip file but again when I proceed the installation it gives me again the INSTALLATION FAILED MSG..
does the OnePlus5Oxygen_23_OTA_010_all_1707032122_2a134296766a4804.zip on one plus site?
is that the correct file? thks

I meant the internal storage as there is no actual sdcard slot. and yes this OnePlus5Oxygen_23_OTA_010_all_1707032122_2a134296766a4804.zip is the correct file. Do not extract the rom.zip! As i said maybe you have to unlock the bootloader first in order to flash the rom but that is not the case as i read. So put the downloaded OTA.zip on the sdcard, wipe cache and flash it in recovery in install from internal storag and the factory reset. There are several video`s on YouTube on how to do it https://www.google.nl/url?sa=t&rct=...LyJ4Ho&usg=AFQjCNEFn7t35Gdh9Vzxxwfe4oBMs4EH_Q.
