Huawei Mate 8 version confusion - Mate 8 General

Hi,
I have just bought a secondhand Huawei Mate 8 but I'm a bit unsure about what version it really is.
On the back of the phone it says it's a NXT-AL10 but on the phone in the system info it says that it's running NXT-L29C432B180.
So is this the chinese version or the european version?
Also, when I go into the system information, it shows that it's running EMUI 4.0 and when I try to check for updates, it says there's no new updates available., so no EMUI 5 or even EMUI 4.1?
Why is that? Is it something to do with the version being changed?
Thanks

Seems like you have a rebranded AL10. I would prefer L29 so nothing wrong with that.
What does it says under model number, does it also state L29?

Yes, the model number also says NXT-L29.
What do you mean by a rebranded A10?
The seller said it was UK version and was bought in the UK. Does that seem likely?

Well I can't say for sure but the AL10 is the Chinese version. I bought my phone via AliExpress and it is an AL10 that I have rebranded to L29C432.
A rebrand means that phone runs software that is intended for an other region. Like me, I'm running European software on Chinese hardware.
If both version and model says L29 then it should find an update. Sometimes when rebranding the model said L29C900 witch meant that the phone wasn't recognised by the server.
Have you tried to updating through a computer and HiSuite program?

thanks,
I haven't tried updating manually yet as I'm new to this and don't know if i can do it with this version of the phone.
My current firmware number is NXT-L29C432B180. I want to update to Nougat. Can I just choose a NXT-L29 firmware from here and flash it? Do I need to root to flash firmware?

Nougat 7 NOT official for Mate 8 yet

Well, "technically" Android 7, is not officially available for all versions of the Mate8, and today is the LAST day of
the first quarter of 2017, which is when Huawei said last year, it would be made available.
Anyone know what the official status is now?
I'm not talking about using a 3rd party app to download Nougat, but the settings>about>update way of getting
a software update. No knock against the 3rd party apps, but, the manufacture update way should be the easy
way to update the OS.
Official update received for manly friends on thier phones c185b200 ota to b560
Nougat 7.0 official released on c636 variant.

Nope...nothing
I'm in the USA, and even if I select "South Africa"...update manager, Hicare, Firmware Finder
nothing shows up for FULL except for what I already have, L29C185B321. The 560 shows up,
but only as OTA, not full, which does not work properly.
100% stock, non root.
"Technically" they have until midnight (China?) to release it, to stay on track of releasing it by the
end of the 1st Quarter of 2017.
So do I, still with the build number NXT-L29C3636B180.
today is the LAST day of the first quarter of 2017, which is when Huawei said last year, it would be made available.
Anyone know what the official status is now?
And this information I get from Huawei Contact Center by email, "Thank you for contacting Huawei. We would like to advice you that the release date on the air for Noughat version is from 28/2/2017 - 28/3/2017.
So sad
I contacted them via facebook, got the stock answer "stay tuned" bla bla bla.
maybe, Huawei tagline is take it or leave it, hahahahaha
Maybe "Firmware Finder" will help you?

Firmware finder, if you have the OTA switch turned on, will show up newer than 321 firmware, but
bombs after it tries to install. If you have the OTA switch turned off, to only show the FULL release,
321 is the newest.
Use the firmware guides in separate threads to update. FF doesn't give all files to update to nougat.
Also B584 is rock solid. Still few glitches maybe there to correct.
GET REAL , 7.0 says official in b560 b663 and al10 b577 . why post a thread like this , lets do some real development not wastes of time replys.
god bless

NOT official on B180, B321
If you use the official Huawei app(s), it will show nothing available.
If you use firmware finder, it will show the OTA versions, but not the FULL version.
If you attempt to download and install the OTA versions, they will FAIL at 5-10%.

Need international rom for Honor 8 Lite

Hi
anyone has a International Rom for Honor 8 Lite. I have following Chinese version of the phone:
Model Number: PRA-AL00X
Build Version: PRA-AL00XC00B183
Emui: 5.0
Andoroid: 7.0
Tanks a lot in advance!
i don't think they have released it yet
in firmware finder also there is only chinese rom links (cn)
There´s not really an international form of the Honor 8 Lite, as outside of China, Huawei is selling the Huawei P8 Lite 2017-version, which uses the exact same hardware as the Honor 8 Lite.
I heard the Honor 8 Lite is only being offered in Russia and Finland? However, using one of those ROMs should also work. I also need an international ROM, as I even with rooting can´t get Google on my Chinese device.
By the way there is a Russian ROM for Honor 8 Lite online on another website, has anyone tried that?
it takes some time for them to release full firmware guys,

New Firmware MHA-L29C432B197 OTA

Just had this update today (unlocked global model)
Can't say I've noticed anything major yet.
Oh persistent notifications or at least some of them, seem to be working like they ought to now, which is a first for me, as every notification was swipeable in the past.
Actually that's quite old update, some got it in the beginning of October. We should be getting Oreo update, not some minor pach
and I haaaate persistent notification
arrived in Germany yesterday...
No update for me on the US model as of now

My wife's Mate 9 a fully stock German unlocked OEM model received the B198 OTA, mine a fully stock German unlocked OEM model is still on B194 and keeps telling me there's no update? Both Mate 9's are not rooted and are fully stock. The only thing, mine came without box and charger (2nd hand) so I don't know if it got unlocked and re flashed, got it from ebay.de. Is there a way to check from which region the phone originally came?

Change 'de' to other iso country symbols - IT for Italy, SE for Sweden, NL for Netherlands
Additionally, you can try Huawei Online-Chat.
Thanks for the link...mine shows under warranty till 14-08-2019 while the mate 9 from my wife is no longer under warranty, exp 01-05-2017.
Both are the same models, I can however not see if they are branded or not...
Just received the B198 update on the second...that means if the official Android Oreo gets released for the Mate 9, both our phones should receive them via the OTA. Happy days!

Confused about version after update to Android 12

Hey all,
I am confused about my device. I got the last update via Oxygene Updater to Android 12.
It brings so many problems that I want to rollback to 11. Unfortunately I can't define the version I do need.
The about infos say:
Model: IN2025
Hardware version IN2025_11
Softwareversion build #: IN2025_11_C.11
Can someone tell me which rollback version I would need?
Thanks

Since you are from germany like me and you didnt buy it from the USA or anything outside the US you need IN11BA tools (european firmware).
IN2025 is international firmware but there is no european a12 firmware yet.

Thanks for the reply. But: I bought my OP8P from Tradingshenzhen as international version.
And the version as attached was automatically coming OTA...
I guess this is not the European firmware, is it?

Yes IN2025 is International Firmware. But OnePlus did not release European A12 firmware yet. So its possible that you got this via ota.
Anyway in your screenshot it says. Firmware: OxygenOS -DE/EN/FR so it was delivered with the EU firmware.
I would use IN11BA MSM Tool to go back to OOS11. But IN11A probably works too. Maybe backup your persist image if you are concerned. Anything else is safe. Simply dont flash A12 via fastboot.

First of all I can't use Google Pay anymore. Second there is a strange battery drain. Not consistently but often. And there are some older apps that are not correctly working if at all, e.g. Fancy Widgets...
