Download Kingoroot for pc and install it. Enable USB debugging on your phone and connect it to the pc. Open Kingoroot, it will detect ur phone automatically. Remember to connect your pc to internet. Click the ROOT button and it will root your phone.

I found TWRP from this site but something's weird
Check this link: romprovider.com/2017/10/twrp-root-huawei-y5-2017-mya-l22/
I downloaded the TWRP found there but when I tried to do "fastboot boot recovery.img", it says "failed (remote unknown command)"... Did the TWRP from that link worked for you or any of you guys here?

Working with twrp at times becomes a little complicated, why don't you try rooting tools?

One reason why I don't want to try rooting tools is that I want to backup my stock rom without root access.. So I want to install a custom recovery first but I only saw one for this device and it seems to be not working yet. I also want to extract my stock recovery.img but I need to fastboot boot TWRP for that

I'm also interested in just straight Rooting this device, not interested in ROMs etc. I tried APK KingRoot (latest) and after doing a 'Root Check' with an app it did not come back rooted. Can someone provide tools & steps for the newbie please?
much thanks

SuperSu app for root
I think you can try SuperSu, This Also the best app to get root access. Download SuperSu.
or find here - https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/supersu

This is a hard fone to Root, the normal 1-Click Rooting Apps don't work in my trials. Kingroot & SuperSU both don't work.
This fone wont copy Apps to SD card either, I have APP2SD Pro & have tried loads of others. Has anyone got APP 2 SD to work? It sucks my fone out of memory already just with apps alone, no music or anything.....

Just change default location of storage to sd card. It works for me. To manually move apps to SD, just copy and paste the folders from data and obb in android folder of internal storage to external storage. I uses this to move the data of my games and it worked

I SOLVED IT!!!!!!!!!
just keep the same name and write fastboot flash recovery twrp-huawei-y5.img
THAT SOLVED THE ERROR

the trouble in huawei MYA-L13 android 6.0 is when flash recovery y5 2017 can go inside of that .
the scroll in down place, dont move all and just cant go inside twrp... all is ok the phone works. but can go inside twrp...

I have MYA-L22. I have rooted it and already installed twrp but the system is only read only right right after I flashed magisk. Now I only have root right but I can't flash anything besides magisk.

[REF] [ROOT] [RECOVERY] [BOOT LOADER] Metro PCS LG K7 LGMS330 [Guide For Dummies]

I have not been on this site since posting my guide, i do want to let any future people reading this know that, I am not a professional. everything in this guide is using stuff from other peoples threads.... this thread is just step by step directions on how i rooted (and installed TWRP on) MY lg k7 (MetroPCs). Also i had to root before i unlocked the boot loader. Which is not safe, you should probably unlock the boot loader before you root, but i couldn't figure out how to unlock it without root access.

YOU AND ONLY YOU CAN BE HELD RESPONSIBLE

C) click on the "new link" next to "Replace_Kingroot_With_SuperSU.zip"

(Easiest way is to download it on PC and open up your k7 in "my computer" and select internal storage and drag the MRW folder inside the .zip there)
E) go to google play and search "terminal emulator for android" or use this link if your reading this on your phone https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jackpal.androidterm&hl=en
F) install the first one, or use this link if your reading this on your phone https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jackpal.androidterm&hl=en
G) open terminal emulator
H) type "su" without the quotations
(everything typed in the terminal is case sensative)
I) type "sh /sdcard/mrw/root.sh" without the quotations
J) you might see a few errors, that is fine
K) wait until it says finished
L) when SU opens, select "update" "install" or what ever pops up
M) when it asks to uninstall, uninstall it, it is not uninstalling SuperSU it is uninstalling Kingroot,
O) if 30 minutes pass and it is still uninstalling then exit the app and then reboot the phone
DO NOT STOP HERE ~ YOU HAVE TO UNLOCK THE BOOTLOADER, and OPTIONALLY FLASH TWRP
Step Nine: Unlocking The Bootloader
A) refer to step one and double check the OEM unlock is enabled and USB debugging is turned on
(If not then please enable them)
B) search quick boot on the google play store download the first app it should be a circle with a lightening bolt
C) open quick boot
D) when asked to "allow root access?" tap allow
E) if an add pops up close it with the ex in one of the corners
F) tap on the word boot loader
G) at the top of your phone you should see " * Welcome To Fast Boot Mode : "
H) now go to your SDK dir, in my case it is C:\Users\USER\Documents\SDK
I) hold shift, then right click on the "platform-tools" folder, then select "open command window here"
J) in the CMD window type "fastboot devices" - without quotations
(everything is case sensative)
K) then type "fastboot oem unlock" - without quotations
L) then type "fastboot getvar unlocked" if that doesn't work try "fastboot getvar" or "fastboot getvar unlock" to confirm if it is unlocked
(if non of the getvar commands work you did something wrong, and i wont be able to help you, but if you followed the tutorial you shouldn't have any issues as these are the exact steps i took)
M) then type "fastboot reboot"
LEAVE THE CMD OPEN OR YOU WILL HAVE TO REPEAT steps H-I
Step Ten: Flashing TWRP
A) go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/general/general/qa-metro-pcs-lg-k7-lgms330-t3331678 and click on the latest download for twrp for me it is BETA1
if the links on that page dont work then use the links here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=66282525&postcount=42
B) extract the download into your SDK folder on your PC
C) in the sdk CMD window from Step nine
D) type "fastboot devices" - without qoutation
E) ~optional, HIGHLY RECOMENDED~
1)type fastboot "boot twrp-image-3.img" - this will boot up twrp WITHOUT flashing it, just so you can make sure everything is working right
in my case it was twrp-image-3.img check your twrp file name and replace fastboot boot twrp-image-3.img with
fastboot boot INSERT YOUR FILE NAME HERE.img
2)in twrp tap reboot>bootloader
F) when bootloader mode opens back up
G) type "fastboot flash twrp-image-3.img" or "fastboot boot INSERT FILE NAME HERE.img" depending on your file name
H) when finished flashing type "fastboot reboot"
Step eleven
A) follow instructions on step one
B) the reason you must do this is because when you flash TWRP it erases your entire phone and resets it
Congrats you have Successfully Rooted, Unlocked Your Bootloader, and Flashed TWRP, to your LG K7

I can confirm this method works. The only different thing i did was purchase Supersume pro from playstore. Worked like it said it would. The Ls675 is rootable. But no bootloader unlock or bootloader at all for that matter. Im running MS330 with TWRP full root and have twrp backups and fastboot flashable backups via flashfire....

While it does work I can find no method using the buttons to get into twrp all the instructions I find for recovery fail so I can only boot back to it after the phone boots, thus it's worthless at this point. Also the command is fastboot flash recovery imgagename.img and you'll need to remove kingroot from administrators to uninstall.
Anyone else been able to boot directly into twrp from the off position?

I'm no developer by any means but I have Linux and windows on my laptop. I'm familiar with kernel building on bunt and have the source code for MS330 on my laptop. I have a backup of my boot img as well. If you can get to fastboot u can probably flash my boot img if you want me to send it. I have recovery img as well which is twrp. Let me know if you have any ideas on what u need or i can do as far as possibly doing a fresh build kernel later tonight and getting a zImage out of it

Of other interest 5.1 is very dendent on Google apps and move app updates to the system via TB or Link2SD fails more than it succeeds, shows they moved but app inaccessible afterwards hence brick. Mine went down trying to integrate play services and reinstalling from adb didn't help. FYI if you relock the BL it'll lock the phone with a security error too. Moving play services causes unending error screens so you can't really see if it's done moving, but I waited a good 5 minutes before reboot. Issue on fails could have been the system not being r/w. Needless to say backup, backup, backup as I hadn't because I've never had a serious issue doing that and considered it a trivial task. Anyone had good success with integrating updates and cache? Anyone restored from twrp yet?

Can you figure out why we can't boot to recovery via hardware buttons? That's critical for tinkering and testing on the go since I always have my phone but not my laptop for booting into recovery with adb. Not sure exactly where to look, probably start with a search for the words "recovery" and "safe mode" for the buttons and "security error" in the boot.img files.

If your rooted u can dl a reboot recovery app on the play store I have one that works like a charm. But im gonna take a look through Linux at the kernel options using make menu_config and see if there's anything I can see in there.

Thanks again. For anyone that has a soft bricked LG K7 see this man! He brought my S#!? To life through teamveiwer. Thanks again. From my LG K7.
Maybe just my experience, but regarding step 10. I had to have the twrp image in SDK>platform tools, also when you get to fastboot flash twrp-image-3.img, I couldn't get it to work, until I typed it as fastboot flash recovery twrp-image-3.img. Hope this helps anyone else getting errors during this part. Thanks for the writeup.

X800 Fastboot brick

Hi guys I tried to root my LeTV 1 Pro but it didn't worked.
My phone keeps rebooting in fastboot ( I see the penguin 10-15sec and it reboot again and again) or it stays alight with the penguin.
Computer doesn't recognize it.
Thanks.
Try and plug it to your computer then keep power and wol down pressed for like 15 sec: now fastboot should stick and device shouldn't reboot, so you can flash a recovery (TWRP?) and start over with a new ROM.
Thank you for your reply,
It still doesn't work, penguin stays on screen but it's not recognized by computer ( before the brick it was)
I'm not very experienced in rooting btw.
Edit : The recovery.bat in the file X1_X800_TWRP_Recovery2.8.7.0 says "Complete! The device is ready to reboot into Recovery." which I do but it keeps reboot with the pinguin on.
I recieved my phone today and it just wont stay in fastboot mode. I can do anything I want but it just keeps rebooting before I can flash anything. Any suggestions on how I should keep the Phone in Fastboot mode?
You need to install drivers. After that it will not reboot anymore. That worked for me atleast.
What kind of drivers do I need? Please link them to me I have tried a lot of drivers. The thing is that the phone also does not stay in Fastboot mode when not plugged into the PC.
It's my topic for my problem so don't ask questions for you on it please u_u

Zamul don't be mean. He just asked for help as you did...
I have downloaded drivers (I think) from https://twrp.me/devices/letvle1pro.html where I also get twrp 3.0.2.0
Btw if you are using Windows you can open Device Manager and there you will see your device and what drivers it has installed (you can always use update drivers function, maybe that will help too).
Here is a little guide how I managed to get twrp:
Just download it (drivers and intall them) (and download twrp also). Place twrp file to the folder where you have your adb installed.
In phone settings go to developer menu (first you need to unlock it) and you need to switch on usb debugging.
Connect phone to the pc via usb.
Open command prompt in your adb folder and type Adb devices (if you have drivers installed corectly you will se your devices connected under some code).
Then just write Adb reboot booloader and phone will restart to the recovery.
Type into the comand prompt: fastboot flash recovery name***.img (where the name is the file name of twrp you have downloaded- just a tip: rename it so it is easier to remember for example to twrp. Then the command will look like: fastboot flash recovery twrp.img)
If succesful, write fastboot reboot and that is all.
Btw for me it did not work first time. I had to load twrp for second time and when I wrote fastboot reboot then I immediately pressed volume up so It went directly to twrp recovery.
Hope it helps. Cheers
I have this problem

Hi guys. I have a problem! My letv x800 CN boots to TWRP but doesn't start the system (EUI logo loading all the time) I don't know how to transfer ROM into the phone in order to flash it. I installed all the drivers and PC recognize it. PLEASE HELP!!!

Hi thanks for the reply. How is done and can it be done on a device that won't boot up. I cleared the cache and tried factory reset. But doesn't go past the powered by android screen. Says on that screen until it goes off or i hold the home button for ten seconds.

What did you do to the device before you cleared cache and factory reset, something you did caused this. The best/easiest way to fix it depends on what you did.

Was uninstalling apps from twrp manager because since I rooted the device was very slow. I accidentally uninstalled a system file. After it uninstalled froze wouldn't do anything. I hold power button and turned off and been in current state. Won't do anything but stay on the powered by android screen. Does this even after a factory reset roboot device. Am thinking without putting a clockwork mod on device because I can't access googleplay on the device. Custom recovery for installing a custom rom. Nothing I can do to fix the device. I sent the device to manufacturer for repair and sent it back was unrepairable. Even knowing they could of put the stock system on the device. No clue what to do next.

Does your PC even recognize the device? Does it show anything device manager?
Have you tried anything by searching for:
"How to unbrick (your model number)"
Have you tried connecting to adb while the device is in bootloop, you may have to create some sort of script to run in adb to echo and interrupt boot cycle while in bootloop to stay connected to adb, if you can get it to accept adb commands, you can try adb pushing copies of the apps you removed or maybe even push a copy of your stock system.img with a dd command, just make absolutely sure that use the correct command to dd the .img to the correct partition(mmcblk0) on your internal sd.
If your device is a fastboot device you can use adb to get to fastboot and flash the device.
There is also the possibility that you can use the stock firmware for your device or a .img dumped from another rooted device like yours to create or pull an .img that can be "burned" to a micro sd card to create a type of "boot disk" that will boot your device from extsdcard and then use that to restore the device. I don't know the software and methods to achieve this on your specific device, I'm just telling you the different tricks that can be used to restore a device.
These are just possibilities.

It will show on laptop like serial number unavailable but keeps saying USB needs to be debugged but can't because I can't access developer settings on device. I haven't search unbricked with model number. Didn't know what bricked met. I screenshot options with what I have on device. Have no clue on commands and how to do this?

Do a Google search for:
"USB drivers for (your model number)"
Make sure you get those fully installed.
Then do a Google search for:
"adb/fastboot 15 second installer for windows"
If you have issues getting it installed and working correctly, just do a Google search for:
"How to setup adb/fastboot on windows"
There should be many guides to follow, once you're set up, boot to recovery to the menu in your screenshot, select "reboot bootloader", that will probably boot you to fastboot mode, then connect to PC
Open a cmd prompt, in that terminal type:
fastboot devices
Press enter, if it returns a serial number you're connected, from there you can fastboot flash your stock firmware.
To understand fastboot flashing, do a Google search for:
"How to fastboot flash stock firmware (your model number)"

I took screenshot of what I get when device is connected to PC. But can't find the USB drivers for this device online. Didn't continue the steps you provided because of that.
You can delete or close thread. With everything I heard there was no hope in fixing the device. So I destroyed it and tossed it. Thanks for advice appreciated it.
A little late now but since I saw that you could boot recovery, so the easy fix would have been using jasminetool with edl to install a custom recovery(twrp ). Once twrp is installed its just simple enough towipe system partition and flash a stock ROM or flash a custom ROM and get it working again. This is a fix For anyone else who messes up there system partition.

system deleted, TWRP ready

Hello,
i delete the System and Data on my LeEco Le Pro3.
TWRP is installed.
Can i flash a rom with an usb flash drive in TWRP or fastboot?
greeting gizez
Boot into TWRP and use MTP to transfer ROM file from your PC to Phone. Then flash the ROM.
I have this problem, but I can't see the phone when connected to a PC. adb sideload doesn't work (adb devices doesn't find anything). Do I need to install driver for the phone? I originally used fastboot to unlock the bootloader and flashed TWRP, then installed LineageOS and gapps just fine. I then proceeded to wipe system in TWRP (I was trying to get back to new phone setup so I can transfer stuff from old phone, which I skipped the first time).
Any idea how to get around this? I tried plugging in pen drive through an micro USB OTG and a usb-c to micro usb adapter, but it's not recognized in TWRP, either. Would very much appreciate any help!
You can get your data. First try to connect phone while is in TWRP. Your phone can be detected as file manager. Try this.
If not, check my theme;

Go Advanced -> ADB Sideload, type "adb sideload aicp_zl1_n-12.1-NIGHTLY-20170516.zip" (zip of OS should be downloaded and put into "Minimal ADB and Fastboot" installation folder with name as same as the text of command). It should let you turn on system.

Also "adb push" command can be helpful. Sometimes phone is not current on adb devices list, but you can also try. As i remember, target should be /sdcard/0

Thanks, but unfortunately no luck. Both adb sideload and adb push said error - device '(null)' not found. It seems like the PC is not recognizing the phone. I checked device manager on the PC, it showed LEX727. I right-click and had it install the driver. It says driver successfully installed. Then device manager showed MTP device with a !. I again tried having driver installed, but this time it doesn't find any driver.
I'm at my wit's end... Any more suggestion?
TWRP and/or Minimal ADB isn't trouble here? Tried you both on main menu of TWRP and in ADB Sideload mode? You can also try do it trough bootloader, for this check my link and read all.

Actually, the problem is solved, by using another PC. This one showed LEX727 in windows explorer as soon as i plug in the phonr (in twrp). I was able to drag and drop the zip files to the phone and go on my merry way. Now back in business!

[GUIDE] Root Huawei Honor 8 SMART and install TWRP custom recovery (EMUI 5.X)

Note-
Applicable for Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10
Similar steps are applicable for EMUI 4.X as well but TWRP file will change.
Hello Fellow Members,
Did not find any post mentioning rooting for Honor 8 SMART and got requests via PM and on FB to add it for EMUI 5. If there are any, let me know and I will take down this thread. I will just simplify the steps so that any new users can do this without any problem and without any prior experience to rooting, it may be long but will be the simple enough for all the users.
Prerequisites-
Enable the developer option in settings-
Go to Settings--> About Phone-->Tab build number 7 times to enable this setting.
Go back in setting page, just above system update, you will see a new menu as -Developer Options
Scroll for the debugging section and enable the USB Debugging
You will be prompted for the confirmation with RSA key, just accept it.
Enable OEM Unlock in Developer Options (just above the USB debugging option) – Most probably this option will not be there on EMUI 5.0 (only few have seen on EMUI but it was there on EMUI 4.1 for all but rarely on EMUI 5.0 or may be because I have used dload most of the time which grayed out this)
Please note down you build number, this may become handy in case something goes wrong to restore your phone via DLOAD. In Settings- About phone- Build Number
Installation of required Drivers.
Connect your phone to PC and install Hi Suite on PC and it will additionally install all the necessary drivers to PC and HiSUite on Mobile.
Download and Install ADB from Link
Accept all the prompts and install ADB drive system wise.
Once installation is completed, if default options are chosen, it will be under C:\adb
Downloading the necessary files.
Download TWRP from Link Thanks to @OldDroid for his Original Thread . Rest of the contributor and credit in original thread by OldDroid.
Move the downloaded file under C:\adb or wherever you have installed the ADB.
Download the SuperSU file from this Link and put it in SD card or keep handy on PC so that you can copy to internal memory later.
Get the unlock as mentioned in this thread
Actual Procedure
Unlocking the bootloader-
Backup all your data as unlocking the bootloader will reset the device and all your data will be erased.
On windows machine, go to folder C:\adb or wherever you installed the adb drivers.
Press shift+right click together and select Open command prompt here
Run - adb reboot bootloader (this command may prompt for acceptance of RSA key if not already accepted)
This will boot the phone into bootloader mode.
Run - fastboot oem unlock <16 digit unlock code- Put your actual code you obtained from Huawei site > (This step will unlock the bootloader and will erase all your data)
Phone will restart automatically.
Installing TWRP
Once on the system, open the PowerShell or command prompt again in ADB folder (can use the previous instance as well)
Run - adb reboot bootloader
Once in bootloader, Run - fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.1.1-0-venus.img (This will install the TWRP recovery for EMUI 5.0 on your phone)
Once done with the flashing the TWRP, Run - fastboot reboot
Rooting
Once booted to system, open the PowerShell or command prompt in ADB folder (can use the previous instance as well)
Run - adb reboot recovery
And your phone will boot into the TWRP recovery.
Copy the SuperU file downloaded to SD card or Internal memory.
Install the SuperSU zip.
Reboot and enjoy.
Happy Flashing.
I have try,but it doesn't work.

Cool thanks. Different question: Why honor does not provide monthly or 3 months security updates.Very disappointed with them. I know we are not getting Oreo update but atleast provide security update in at least three months.
