correct. just swap the boot.img with the one from the sampwnd firmware in the root thread. download sampwnd firmware, extract AP, extract boot from AP, replace with the boot in the TURBO2012 ROM and use flashfire. smooth as butter.

I wouldn't think running a ROM made for an S8 would be stable on an S8+.

My battery on TURBO2012 rom is much better than on just a rooted stock rom. However not as good as a bone stock phone. But the performance is much better on turbo Rom and I still make it through the day easily. I also charge to 100% overnight most nights using the upload mode charging method.

If you turn the device off, then put it in upload mode NOT DOWNLOAD MODE, it'll charge to 100, takes awhile though, I to it when I go to bed.

Ok maybe this is a noob question, but if you turn the phone off and charge it, does it not charge to 100%?? If it does charge to 100% when it is turned off, BUT only says it is charged to 80% when it is turned on, would it not be safe to assume that it is a visual glitch rather than an actual hardware glitch?? I have seen this before I have been around here since the Samsung Captivate, If i'm not mistaken this has always been a false reading, and the only way to be sure is for someone to do a solid SOT test and see if you are loosing 20% SOT.

It will not charge beyond 80 any way currently aside from in upload mode. It is a setting coded into the eng kernel that we can not change as of now. And to be rooted you must be using the eng kernel.

Lollipop ROM for those on 4.4.4

For anyone on 4.4.4
There's this lollipop rom from the international section that looks amazing
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3/development/rom-5-0-lollipop-tmt-1-0-t2982363
Someone with our N900A variant said you have to be on 4.4.4 to get the rom to work. I would like to know if the rom will work and I haven't updated to 4.4.4 yet. I'm debating on weather I should update or not. Can someone try it out and report back with info?
Thanks!
I tried. It is AROMA installer. Can't load. Asked developer if he could make a non aroma based version.

I also was able to remove aroma and try to flash this rom with the NC2 kernel as well as the NJ5 kernel. With the NC2 kernel i reach a blank screen and with NJ5 i reach the samsung galaxy note 3 custom screen before it reboots into device recovery. This rom does use a different kernel that we cant flash thanks to a locked bootloader, so in my opinion at this point in time i dont think its possible for our devices to run this rom. We probably won't have lollipop until there is a workaround for the bootloader or we get an official OTA so we then have the proper kernel to run lollipop.

Attempted U firmware

So I attempted the steps located here.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ve...de-flashing-sm-935u-firmware-verizon-t3415145
It won't seem to install using either ODIN. Now it won't boot to OS. It will boot to recovery and I can still boot do downloading but I cannot get it to work. I know I didn't do anything wrong... the steps are very simple.

Only way someone can help is if you list out the steps you took and the files that you used. Did you do a factory reset before pushing the files via Odin? Which files did you upload to Odin? Did Odin give you any errors?
What build were you on prior to flashing with Odin? I have a strong feeling that you are getting errors by flashing an older version of the U-firmware onto a newer version of V firmware, hence why Odin won't flash it. The link you sent is for PEH, which is fairly old IIRC. Were you on Verizon PI3 before attempting this?
You are probably partly right about the older firmware. The steps didn't really include information that seems updated. Right before I went to bed I was able to get it working. It seems that the phone did not like 4 of my cables. Finally it worked with a really tiny cable I found. Whew. Haha sorry I should have revised this. Is there any way for me to flag it as completed?

So I flashed only the AP tar. Secure folder won't setup. Its says unauthorized software was installed. Is this because I didn't flash the other files?
Tell you what thought! This debloated firmware is pretty nice and clean. Properly debloated and not KC debloated where it doesn't work well And battery discharge is seems very good. I think its been a little bit over an hour and I'm still at 100% after taking off charge. Thanks for this OP.

They were able to overcome this with the S7, and Keep samsung pay working so I am hopeful they will find a way for the note8.
It might take awhile but it will come. Other than 1 or 2 mods i feel no need to root. But I would like to have the dual speaker mod.

I heard about doing that but didn't know how. I do know that I have the Verizon boot up screen and the 4G LTE logo for the data. It looks like I got HD voice but not for video. I can't even get WiFi calling to activate too.
If you could help me that would be great otherwise I might have to do a warranty replacement which is a last resort that I don't want to do in the first place.

Is this under the option tab or UMS button? Do I need another file? Seems like I'm missing something. I'm going to do a search here in the mean time. Btw it seems like I have to use Comsy Odin 3.12 to flash my files without errors.
Thanks for all of your help so far.
Ok looks like I finally was able to get all my Verizon apps back on it. I had to download the N950U firmware which had the USERDATA file that I needed to flash. I'm not sure why there is even a N950U1 firmware to begin with.
I have the August security patch and is still have the U1 baseband. WiFi calling is working but I didn't activate my visual voicemail yet but the app is there though. I didn't activate video calling yet because I would need to setup basic voicemail service first.
Thanks again for all of the help guys.
