Speakerphone has worked well in my experience, both for voice calls via phone app, as well as speakerphone mode on various VOIP/Video calls like FB Messenger or Google Hangouts video calls.
I do wish there was an easy way to boost mic recording volumes. You would think that with how simple it is as a setting on PC's, that this would be a non-issue feature on phones today. Instead, it would seem for every new phone and every new ROM, we have to hunt down some XML file's setting in root explorer to change a default mic volume.

A single speaker resides on the bottom of the phone, which works fine for calls. I wouldn't use this for listening to music, but then again I never use my phone speaker for music. I always use headphones, and bluetooth speakers are cheap and far better than any cell phone speakers.

loud speaker very bad quality. It sounds horrible and quite low. Even the ringtone is horrible.

After studying a bit the issue, the problem apears to be software, but there is no settings for sound, no dolby, no nothing. Only some basic on/off type settings.
Realy waiting for some customs roms (a RR or a CM) .. PLEASE

HUGE improvement in quality from my last three—2 Samsungs and (retch) free ANS—phones. No "underwater" sounds and fewer cutouts due to background noise. I didn't even have to change settings to make the improvement.
Volume seems to have same "hearing safe" limits as previous phones, would like to find out how to change that for this one. Previously it took editing buildprop, which like most phones requires root on this phone; but also needs some knowledge about which lines/settings need to be changed or added...will be watching for that assistance before my next trip to the racetrack.

Strong speakers, clear voice no objections.
Speaker is weak part. It is loud but no way clean
Speaker is a bit low on the volume, clearly a downgrade over my previous phone.
At least it can be improved by using a third party equalizer.

The speaker doesn't get too loud, but the quality is fantastic.
It seems meh.
My only gripe with this phone is the speaker I wish it had dual speakers or at least be a little louder

I use Volume booster GOODEV (playstore) . Set it at 5% and it gives a better sound output (loudness). Go to the settings >app>volume booster Goodev>power usage details>app launch> manage automatically (disable it to run in the background)
