[HOW TO] SIM unlock Desire 530 with unlock code - no app needed (T-Mobile; MetroPCS) - HTC Desire 530 Guides, News, & Discussion

[No s-off required] T-Mobile and MetroPCS variants don't ask for an unlock code when foreign SIM card is inserted. It requires to contact carrier to allow SIM unlocking and this is done through their own app "device unlock" and no code is inserted. To get authorization to unlock it, could be difficult contact carrier because sometimes you're not client of T-Mobile or MetroPCS or you're not in the US.
But you can bypass app and unlock it with an unlock code (easy, cheap and fast to obtain it) if you follow these steps (will wipe all your data):
1. Unlock bootloader (htcdev.com)
2. Flash twrp recovery (https://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-530/development/recovery-twrp-3-0-2-0-t3582805)
3. Download the unlocked/developer RUU for HTC Desire 530 (http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_A16_UL_M60_DESIRE_SENSE70GP_TMUS_NA_Gen_Unlock_1.01.617.27.exe)
4. Download RUU Decrypt Tool (https://forum.xda-developers.com/chef-central/android/tool-universal-htc-ruu-rom-decryption-t3382928) and extract system.img from downloaded RUU (step 3).
5. Copy system.img to the root directory of the phone and flash it with twrp recovery.
6. Once system.img was flashed, just restart phone, insert a non-Tmobile/MetroPCS sim card and phone will ask to insert the unlock code. Unlock code is easy to obtain in ebay or another pages for less than $3, just ask for a generic htc unlock code. Insert the unlock code and restart it.
7. You can download the T-Mobile or MetroPCS RUU and flash it again to the original carrier. It's not mandatory to relock bootloader to flash the original RUU.

Use fastboot to flash the system.img, Flashing with TWRP is buggy.
For guys who own xtc2 clip , do S-OFF and unlock on special unlock tab to unlock without credits.

Bootloader Unlock to Relock and back to LOCKED

I would like to confirm that dc unlocker can make M3 bootloader Relock to LOCKED.
This happen since I think to root device but realized that it is one way trip because we don't have stock recovery file.
So I use dc unlock to LOCKED bootloader after I relock it with fastboot.
Price is 4 Euro. (This task use 4 DC unlocker credit)
For how to done is on their website https://www.dc-unlocker.com/how-to-lock-bootloader-from-relocked-to-locked.
(Don't get bootloader code with DC unlocker you can get it free on https://emui.com/cn/plugin/unlock/index )

Re-lock bootloader (H850)

I just wanted to report that I successfully re-locked my bootloader (did not find that here).
I have an H850 with GPS problems. To return it I wanted it to be as stock as possible.
I used TWRP to flash LG-H85010E-Flashable.COMPLETE.zip from Codefire. Back to unrooted.
I also tried to flash recovery.img from the same source. This seemed to work (no more TWRP), but did not allow for OTAs (update error 0x1125000).
Then I put the phone in download mode, started LG bridge and did the "Updatefehler korrigieren" thing (German, roughly translates to "correct update errors").
To re-lock the bootloader, I put the phone in USB Debugging mode and entered the following commands:
Code:
adb reboot bootlaoder
fastboot oem lock
fastboot reboot
The phone gets wiped by this, but you need to do the initial dialog again: enable developer mode, then go there an disable OEM unlock. After that do a factory data reset one last time.
You should contact @autoprime and have him add this to his all in one thread.
Thanks for the info!

It's good to see that we have option to turn back to stock, and maybe send phone for warrianty repair. But I have one question... If you had tried to unlock phone once again, would You had to enter LG Unlock Code again?

Obviously. The command to unlock is
Code:
fastboot flash unlock unlock.bin
which means you need to have the unlock.bin file available. You did archive the mail, didn't you?

I've got the same problem - seller deceived me and sold phone after water damage. My microphone stopped work and I should send it back. How to lock the bootloader on RS988 model?

Flashing ROM from Update Extractor and command line?

In case I can't solve the whole SIM problem I need to get the phone back to my carrier and get it repaired/replaced so I have to get it back to carrier stock and lock the bootloader. But how do I install a ROM extracted from Update Extractor? Maybe someone has the syntax for a batch file to do it?
Update extractor will produce .img files. You need to follow the steps listed in Chapter 4: Unbricking from: https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/mega-thread-root-unbricking-updating-t3400994
You will need fastboot (and fastboot drivers if using Windows) installed.
It's up to your provider to decide if they still offer a warranty. Unlocking the bootloader voids the warranty, and re-locking will show that the bootloader has been previously unlocked.

Huawei Y560 (L01) stuck in stock recovery and can't get OEM unlock

First of all. i want to instal CM13. I rooted my device it all went smooth. I even tick "enable oem unlock" in the developer settings.
Now things get out of my hand.
I booted up stock recovery. Format dalvik/cache and (its the mistake) i formated userdata. now i try to flash TWRP with fastboot. It say it cant flashed becose of OEM is locked. Alright . I try to boot the stock rom but it wont boot. It goes back straight to the stock recovery without touching any volume button.
Now i read through almost all forums , even other phone brands. The thing i need is the oem key. but The offical huawei page where i can get one is say that i need the model name, serial number , imei number and product ID. I can enter 3 out of 4 becuse its on the back of the phone. But to get product ID i need to boot into the ROM than enter a special key combination to the dial and i get the code. Question . IS there anyway to get product id or unlock oem without ROM?
Things i try but didnt work :
-Unlock oem through bootloader (fastboot ouem unlock and unlock go)
-fastboot boot recovery.img (it say that the device locked)
I really hope that someone could help me with this problem. Thank you folks.
PS.: sorry for my poor english i try my best.
No way to unlock y560 bootloader. I asked Huawei support also but they said that for this model they don't provide unlock code!
Fixed Y560 bootloader unlock

Bypass bootloader unlock data wipe

Is there any script to bypass factory reset after unlock bootloader in emui 8?
Or I don't know if there is some apl like odin inorder to flash files with locked boooadee for huawei devices?
And as second question can u use my previous bootloader code (emui 5) to unlock emui 8 bootloader?
Use dload method to flash service ROM. I think there is service ROM for EMUI 8 now as well, at least for the European version of the phone I think, not really sure. The bootloader resets to state "locked". If you relock using "relock" in fastboot, it will show "relocked". And yes, you can use the same code to unlock again, it changes only if the motherboard in the phone gets changed.
I know about dload method and used for upgrade to emui 8
Im going to unlock my bootloader and flash twrp
Im looking for a trick like some OPO script that can bypass data wipe after unlocking.
