fastboot mode adb

I downloaded minimal adb and fastboot from another thread
I had to disable "enforce driver signature" to install drivers for the device. Now I have an item in my device manager called "Samsung Android Phone" with "Android ADB interface"
I have tried command "adb devices" and it recognises my device
When I try "fastboot devices" nothing happens.
Maybe I don't know how to put the device into fastboot, but i thought all i needed to do was press and hold : power vol+ vol- and the device would reboot into fastboot.
Ultimately I am trying to unlock the bootloader and root, but the toolkit I am using get stuck as "waiting for device"
Any help would be appreciated

You probably did this but just to check:
1. Start cmd.
2. Navigate to your adb/fastboot folder.
3. Check if USB debugging is enabled.
4. Type "adb reboot bootloader" in the cmd window.
5. Type "fastboot devices".
6. Type "fastboot oem unlock" (THIS WILL WIPE ALL YOUR DATA, data+internal storage).
7. Type "fastboot flash recovery /path/to/recovery.img".
8. Navigate to recovery option in the bootloader. And boot into recovery by pressing the power button.
9. Flash the latest supersu and wipe cache and dalvik cache.
10. Reboot.
11. Profit.
If it doesnt work at the step "adb reboot booloader" or "fastboot devices" you prabably are having a driver issue.

I tried this, but all my device does at step 4 is a normal reboot. I am able to fully use adb without any issues...
My device is a Titan Allwinner A20 Softwiner sun7i Tablet...
Does this mean that it does not have a fastboot/bootloader mode?
Thanks for your help...
I only know this for the Nexus 10. Maybe look up the thread for your device and see whats there. Or use google

Hi,
This forum is dedicated to Nexus 10 only, I don't believe that we can be of wide help for you .
The fastboot commands only work for Nexus devices, so as you don't own one and can't even get boot loader mode, then I'm sorry but here is not the place that you may seek advice.

True this isn't the place for the question, and the answer is you probably do not have a bootloader that is capable of interacting with the fastboot binary.
However fastboot is not only for nexus devices, virtually all HTC android devices are able to use fastboot, same with many Motorola, Sony and lg devices.
But again, more than likely your device will not work with fastboot
Best of luck!

[Q] Recovery Error

When i tried to Boot from recovery mode i got Error message with no command.. none of those option in recovery mode working. My phone is UN rooted running on official 4.3 Jellybean. Is this only i m getting? or because my phone is unrooted its locked?
Some Assist would be nice thank You
try using ADB commands:-
connect your phone using usb cable (with usb debugging enabled in developer options)
open command prompt (windows)
if you have ADB as environmental path then just type "adb reboot recovery"
else you need to navigate to the adb.exe and then type the upper command.
it worked for me
can u link where can i download ADB tool
i've attached the latest ADB version 1.0.31 (don't use older versions as they wont work on our device)

I'd be VERY carefull with TWRP and the latest 2.1 firmware.......the two main devs for our shield both bricked their shields, something to do with 2.1 bootloader changes and twrp i think.......theres not much info, except that its advised not to flash twrp on 2.1 until a fix is found, IF one is found..............like i said, theirs not much info on what exactly causes the brick.......maybe twrp is fine, which i would love to be the case, but im waiting until thats confirmed for now
Ok, so I still have the SuperSu.zip and TWRP Recovery.image?
Where can I get this? Could anything about it in zulu99 Read the manual

The fact that "adb reboot bootloader" works, seems to imply that the adb drivers are installed properly
Might wanna write down step by step, what it is your doing right up until the moment you cant go any further.....and to be thourough copy and paste the actual instructions you're following........might get better help
Unlocking the bootloader wipes EVERYTHING, you start from scratch basically, this may take a while, alot longer on the 500gb versions...........keep an eye on the command line when unlocking bootloader or flashing, it should tell you that its doing something and when its finished doing something
Be carefull with these things
Another thing, incase you didnt know, you can navigate the bootloader screen with the power button, single touch goes through the menu, and long touch selects the highlighted option
Now I've done it, bootloader is unlocked
the Full Android zip is on the desktop
Unzip or not?
the next step will be in the command window "fastboot flash system system.img" should
but it comes "error - can not find Image"

(Just want to share my experience.)
For those who wants to upgrade from stock 1.3, 1.4, 2.0 to 2.1, better to do OTA upgrade than download and flash stock from NVIDIA.
Just step by step OTA. If something is wrong, just do HW fastboot (pls google), then flash stock 1.3 and start from beginning.
You may brick yours by flashing 2.1 (stock dev) over stock 1.3. Therefore, pls avoid to flash any stock firmwares except stock 1.3.
After successfully upgrading to stock 2.1, you can follow the guide to flash Full Android OS.
You now have full android OS (rooted) on your Shield but no wireless Shield controller (wired one is OK).

Ok, maybe you miss some thing,
when you to do this things ,you need connect you SATV HDMI to a display or TV,
first connect OTG to computer usbport will get a prompt at satv screen ,add trust PC in something like that, use satv Controller press a button to confirm.
have you done this?Because even if you don't do it, you can still see satv in the computer.
Here is a tip, when the restart into the FastBoot environment, the computer will have a sound prompt,if not, your computer driver or ADB environment Certainly not correct

Fastboot doesn't detect my phone, please help

I want to install LineageOS so I closely followed the fastboot and adb instructions on the official site. During my first (failed) attempt, there were some old Google USB and ADB things on my PC, so I deleted everything and started again with a clean slate.
I managed to make ADB work (adb devices detects my device, could authenticate the computer, all seems good there). But if I start the phone in fastboot mode, connect and run fastboot devices, I get nothing back. It doesn't give any sign of the connected device. Windows's "Devices" window lists a device called "Android", but it's under "Unspecified" and has the yellow triangle/exclamation mark on the icon.
1. Am I right to assume that this will stop me from unlocking the bootloader (if I will use the unofficial method) and flashing TWRP and a custom ROM on the device?
2. More importantly: What could be wrong, how can I make fastboot see my phone?
Many thanks for the suggestions!
hi,
first do you have latest ADB and Fastboot
then connect your device and run adb devices. check if it detect the device means from the command prompt run "adb reboot bootloader" (without quotes)
now once after device reboots to bootloader check fastboot devices it will detect now
if not then goto device manager, right click on the device and click on update driver software and choose android fastboot interface
you are done now run fatboot devices,it will detect the device
Solved!

No fastboot option on Oneplus 8 Pro - can't unlock bootloader

I have a brand new Oneplus 8 Pro from China with global ROM installed.
I wanted to unlock the bootloader however there is no fastboot option in the boot menu.
There is Start, Restart Bootloader, Recovery and Turn Off.
The Fastboot option is missing.
I can connect the phone to my PC, adb recognizes the phone, but Fastboot is missing.
Any ideas?

Sure. You are allready in that mode. Just type fastboot devices and check..
I did that but no response.
The cursor jumps to the next line but there is no response from the phone.
If I type adb devices the phone is listed but the fastboot command doesn't return anything.

Restart to bootloader, then fastboot should work. If your phone is still on, and you can access adb, you should also be able to type adb reboot bootloader
Thanks.
So apparently the command "fastboot devices" returns nothing.
However I was able to unlock the bootloader just by entering "adb reboot bootloader" then
"fastboot oem unlock".
What confused me was that there is no "fastboot" option on the phone itself as there was on my Oneplus 5t.

The option in the power menu is called bootloader (fastboot only will work there) the hint was in the adb command I gave you, adb reboot BOOTLOADER. Not sure why they changed what the menu was called but I'm glad you got it sorted. To give you a short summary, adb will only work when your phone is powered on and booted into android, or if you have recovery mode open and on the adb section, and fastboot only works in the bootloader hope that could help!
Edit: fastboot devices should work but only in bootloader mode, not when your phone is started normally

You have to insert a SIM card, boot of the device and make a phone call to get it to register your device. Wait a few minutes and then restart your phone. Go into settings under about phone and enable developer options. Back out and go into developer options and you will see OEM unlock. You need to turn that on and USB debugging. Both of them must be turned on. Now you can boot into fastboot and unlock your bootloader. It will wipe the device so if you have any data you want to save you better do it now.

That's a driver issue.
Are you using Windows 7? If so use 10
If not then sort out your driver's and it'll be fine.
Theres a bug in 7 where the driver for ADB cannot be collaborated with fastboot drivers.

If you type fastboot reboot what happens? If nothing then either you're device doesn't have usb debugging on, could be the cable/usb slot (some people have had issues with this)
Or its the driver installed for fastboot.
Show hidden devices in device manager you may have multiple devices, remove them all and start over.
Your also need to have used ADB and have trusted the device (prompt will appear on your phone the first time you connect it successfully whilst in your phones system, not fastboot)
for windows 10:
firstly download the google adb driver:
Get the Google USB Driver | Android Studio | Android Developers
The Google USB Driver is required to perform adb debugging on Windows with Google devices.
developer.android.com
then do the following:
1. adb devices [you should see your device ] > adb reboot bootloader
2. device manager > update driver > chose from list [android device]
3. still in device manager got the newly populated Android device and then update driver > choose adb interface
3. fastboot oem unlock
etc.
hope this helps

Secure Boot means your Bootloader is locked.
Setup fastboot correctly, open a cmd window, navigate to fastboot.exe and enter fastboot oem unlock, follow instructions on phone screen
