Would you buy an updated G4, Leather and curved with 18:9 screen and SD84X? - G4 General

I was wondering, would you buy a relaunched version of LG's old design language that made it well... LG...
G2 , G3 and G4 were all unmistakably LG and especially the G4 with the leather back is in my opinion still one of the best looking and best feeling phones if not the best feeling phones due to the slight curve, plastics sides (which believe it or not, I prefer to aluminium although something like titanium would be nice) and of course the Leather Back which is totally awesome.
Would you buy one? The LG G4's body, a little more refined and updated of course with the brand new 18:9 OLED screen and of course with that slight curve. LG should really use its marketing power then to say it ''curves to your hand'' which you know... it kinda does...
It's just for fun but who knows, maybe if we shout loud enough LG will listen because I really think they went wrong with the G5 and tried to play it so safe and fix it just to make the finance department happy...
Let me and the rest of XDA (and the world!) know your thoughts!

No because of the curves. Not usable on a flat surface.
No because of the buttons on the back. Not usable on a flat surface.
No because of the terrible battery life. LG did their best to make this phone drain battery from everywhere.
No because of the ghosting on the screen. Can't trust LG yo make something that lasts.
No because of the updates.
The new phones that came out in 2017 are so much better looking imo. I haven't felt all of them in my hands ofc but I prefer something that looks better on a case and I can trust to get the job done. LG can't deliver and because of that their phones are so much cheaper and that's the only reason I might consider getting one,as a desperate move.

Yes because of the combination of curved back, curved front, textured leather back, removable swapable back cover, removable swapable battery and finally love the volume buttons on the back. Absolutely the best power/vol+/- design I have ever seen or owned. Because of spare battery and fastcharge I never run out of power or have to put device in battery saver mode.
The G4 is my first top end phone. I was very reluctant to go high end because of cost and 5.5" screen but the design of the phone is such that any concerns I had about physical usability were mitigated by the design. I've never had a phone that I've dropped so rarely. I really only wanted a great camera and that is what I got plus with a big screen and descent processor I find I use it much more than I though and my laptop a lot less.
I know there was problems with this phone but that would be the point of a new version ! It would have to still have a curved back and buttons on the back for me keep my interest otherwise it wouldn't really be a G4 update.

Well this poll is a bit inaccurate because people who vote against most likely had bootloops, what if there was no bootloop you should admit it would have been a perfect phone because of what was mentioned in the post above, at the end of the day that's why we bought the phone
P.S. on top of that phone industry was hugely slowed down by 808/810 chips having almost no progress otherwise it would have been a beast unfortunately it became outdated too quickly

Even if there was no bootloop I would still not buy an updated G4. LG has a very bad policy with updates, unfortunately. I still use my G4 and I hope it will not bootloop. I have my eyes on the Nokia 8, even with the somewhat smaller screen and on a Huawei P10, although I do not like the smartphones that have a glass back.

G4 is good. G2 is best. I bought my G4 cause the G2's screen broke and the nearby Nokia/Orange mobile/Nameless services would charge me more than 100€ to repair it. Now i have some spare time, so my G2 will awaken after 8 months of laying in his box. Perfectly made phone. Battery life is insane even with a Li-Pol battery that has over 1000 cycles, screen is still up-to date with its resouliton, the only thing i would change is the RAM, i prefer 3GB. Anyways, LG is on a bad route, G6 has no benefits to G4, just the IP68, after 2 years of manufacturing. But!! in our country LG is the most price friendly, and i like their products, so no doubt, i'll update to G7, when it comes out in 2018

Definitely yes. I am on vacation, bought G6 here and still using G4. Camera is awesome, battery life for me, after it bootlooped and had mobo replaced is awesome and if I overdo photospheres and stuff I have spare battery.
On top of that it feels awesome in the hand!
The only gripe I have with it is relatively slow CPU/GPU and being unreliable due to potential bootloop

Nothing to add! In fact I still have a G4 in my hand and I don't know when I will change and with what. I don't like new phones stiles. Only Moto Z series...

I'd buy an upgraded G4 if it had metal body, less bezels on the bottom, 6GB RAM and Samsung software. LG one is so outdated, even on Nougat when compared to Samsung

No for a curved design, using the phone in flat surface so annoying..
No if there is no fingerprint.. I wish something like V10, everything on the back or maybe something like Xperia Z5.. Everything on the right side of the phone including fingerprint..
No for a terrible screen quality.. I'll prefer the G3 screen more although it is too sharp and poor color reproduction but it is better than ghosting effect..
No for a speaker at the back.. I'll prefer more like my G2 and V20 or much better to have dual front speaker like my old HTC M7..
No for not having the dual-tone LED flash.. I hate the way photo taken by LED flash turn out to be yellow-ish.. Is those stupid orange sensor next to LED is just a gimmick?
No for a stupid update policy.. Too much secret in and there was no information about when the next update exact date will drop.. It's like a gamble game for G4 with Nougat.. Either we will get or only Korea will get it..
No for a super slow update.. Look, my G4 still don't get Nougat although the Beta was released a month ago and my V20 still using old security patches.. Why???
No for LG keep skipping update like their G3 which don't get 5.1.1 for an unknown reason and not forgetting the V20 too which don't get 7.1.1 again for an unknown reason.. Looks like LG developer are lazy these day..

I had a G4 that had a boot loop.. Fortunately, I purchased from Amazon and they refunded me (after sending it back to LG - and they sent it back because it was rooted)..
Still bought another G4 - because it's a good phone. Though the seller screwed me over by using a fake serial number on a reconditioned phone.. Amazon to the rescue again.. Refund.
Bought another one direct from them - with a proper serial number (and no boot loop) to replace it..
Working great..
I do like the G4.. For the price, it was superb..
If they released one with a slightly more efficient processor and better battery life AND at the right price point (I think paying £600 for a phone that'll last you 2 years is nuts) then fine..
Maybe, is the answer..

Almost a year with my Xperia Z

I only want to share with you how much i am happy about this phone.
I use it a lot for work on the road, i'm a business developer and so i usually have to share files, browse the Web, use social networks and so on.
The phone works very well in every task, even in basilar photoshooting for live events, making basilar video editing, etc.
But what makes me really happy is the strength of the building. My phone fallen a lot of time on the ground, in the water, in the bathroom, I use it under the shower, and lot of other things.
One week ago the best example: I forgot my Xperia Z on the roof of my car
After 500 meters i hear a sound on the car and then looking in the mirror I see the telefone flying on the street on the other side of the street.
I turned the car and run to take the phone, in the mean time two cars jumped on it...
The result? Some scratches on the rubber bezel (very light scratches!).
My phone don't have cases... Only one film on the front and one on the back (those who came whith the phone).
The phone has no issues! It's a pleasure to know that i can use my phone in every situation!
Wow!

the phone has fallen several times and under shower usage for music playing or answering call is a very easy task...
my phone still is all fonctionning and after unlocking it and installing the PAC rom 4.3.1 i'm more happier that ever...!!!
this phone is just perfect... i compared it with the Z1 of one of my friends... u don't really sens the difference... yes! Z1 is more powerfull but Z is more beautiful and and more... more... more a personnal phone...
for me... best phone ever!

I have Z for 11 months.
It was good enough to not rush to get Z1. Which I will skip maybe,
just to get the next flagship.
Now Z seems similar to Z1 in speed and performance.
I have my z for 6 months. And I think it is a great terminal I will not need to upgrade to a new smartphone for now.
Mine is 6 months now.. Already got 3 replacements....
I've got 11 months. I was always good! Great phone. Especially because the xperia z has brought new aesthetic in home sony.
I've got z1 but still i have my xZ with me, not willing to sell this beast
Both xZ and xZ1 are awesome mobiles.
I have mine over a year, and would not change it for anything. Well maybe something with a better camera. If they will make an Z2 with dual sim then that's my new phone

This is the best smartphone I have had the pleasure of owning
I previously had Note 1. Bad firmware resulted in a couple of bricks
After the.second brick, I asked grey retailer for a "credit " to go toward XZ, which they did, and after nearly a year, not a single problem
I even accidentally dropped in the toilet, and was extremely glad about the water resistance

I have this phone since 7 months, the phone has fallen a lot of times, in water on the street and from 2nd floor (10 Mt) the phone hasn't scratches, and I don't use cases, only the films
Unlocking Bootloader gave me a lot of possibilities, the phone is smooth, has good battery life and I can do whatever I want...
The best phone I ever had!

I'm on to my third. The first one had its back peeling off. The second screen broke after falling 3 foot on to a tiled floor. IMO the phone is just as fragile as any other.

Tough call. I had a G2 which I really liked but it was slippy and the back creaked next to the volume/on off button controls which was annoying. I still have my Xperia Z and still use it regularly (main phone now is the ZL). The Z is a nicer build quality, feels better and looks better. Frankly, the camera is better on the G2, it is faster and the screen is much better but it's awkward to hold and doesn't have the Z wow factor...
I've had my Z 6 months coming from a nexus 4,at first I wasn't impressed but since 4.3 I have fell in love with it the performance is good now, plus with custom kernel I have gamma and the screen looks great now, also camera is great in good conditions and being able to use in the rain a must in the UK.

I to loved my xz.realy like the design so much.the only problem is the backplate has lifted up.
Im afraid to get it into water.
I think wanna change to g2 now. Thanks for your advice friend
I've had my Z for 11 months now.
Overall this is probably the best phone I've had in terms of performance. For all the stick Sony gets for slow updates my Z is a completely different phone from when I first got it. Each update has made it better. With the latest firmware it's actually a faster phone than it was a year ago.
In terms of wear and tear my Z has had 3 major falls on concrete from my pocket. It's always been naked except for front and back screen protectors and hasn't really sustained any cosmetic damage from the 3 falls.
However sometimes the proximity sensor and headphone jack will stop working. When this happens I have to press on the proximity sensor quite hard and it'll be back to normal. Whether this is due to the falls or water damage (the white water strips have turned pink) I'm not sure. I'm still under warranty so hopefully I can get this fixed.
Other than that the seals on the flaps are loose therefore it's a bit difficult to close the ports.
I'm really considering getting the Z1 because I feel that it addresses all the flaws of the Z. Open headphone jack and magnetic charging so need to bother with the flaps. I sync my Z over Wi-Fi so I don't need to open the usb port. Finally the 3000 mAh battery on the Z1 addresses the biggest flaw of the Z, the bad battery life. I usually get 4 hours of screen on time on average.

People ditching the Z1?

I was wandering around the city yesterday with the girlfriend and we happened across a few shops such as Game, CEX and the usual market stall type places full of cheap mobile phone cases. I noticed that the shelves are stacked with Z1 handsets! More than any other handset, aside from Blackberry Curve 8520s of course
What's going on? I asked one bloke in game and he said people just don't like the Z1. Hence so many selling them at a terribly cheap price just to be rid of them!
Any thoughts on this?
I love my Z1 and having come from the Z I think Sony are playing with the big boys now. They lagged a bit in the past, but my god they came back in true Sony style and created a range of phones that top everything on my list of what I want in a handset. Anyone who parts with a Sony is a fool in my eyes.

For any average user the Z1 is a fantastic device. The only fib I have with it is the screen and the bezels: screen is not 2014-standards at all (viewing angles mainly) and the bezels are just way too large for a 5" phone. Otherwise great device.
Aren't they trying to sell them before the Z2 is released? Anyway, dunno... I don't see the Z1 a whole lot around me but those who have it are happy. But I can imagine it's too big for many people, too clunky.
The screen might not be the best but it ain't all that bad, and especially when not putting another screen right next to it I don't really notice it or am not bothered with it at all.
Here it's still selling for a minimum of about 470 euro's, not extremely cheap (the G2 16GB and S4 are about a 100 euros cheaper for example)
Sony gave them a headache with releasing Z2 and they ,probably, now want to sell all they have...
Z1 is best device I ever had or have and it's not big.
That all depends on subject opinion...
We will have to wait Z2 to come in stores so I wouldn't sell my device for a low price...
When Z3 comes I'll leave my Z1 for dev purpose ...and because I really like it...

Sure, it's all relative but it's surely bigger then it's 'rival devices'. Both in volume and in weight.. But I can imagine people being a bit put off by the large bezels and all...Especially compared to the LG G2 for example.

I am ditching as soon as the new HTC comes out.
This is mainly due to huge bezels and terrible viewing angles. And I might never buy a sony phone again because of bootloader/root BS!

Where can i pick up a cheap cheap z1 with unlocked bootloader if thats the case? They still well over 300 euro here
I really hope a lot of people sell their Z1, don't buy sony and stop making this forum an ad nauseum "boo hoo camera, viewing angles sob sob" place.
seriously, the phone is a beast, takes great pics (I am a photographer with a DSLR, and on holiday in Rome recently found it easier to use Z1 and got GREAT results than using my dslr.
size - fine for me
bezels - no issue
screen angle - say what now?
I honestly think that some people have either 1) got a dodgy model or 2) messed with settings and refused to admit it.
but on a serious note, please sell your phones, get a different manufacturer altogether and get off my otherwise happy forum
It probably is due to the upcoming Z2 so people selling before the value drops too much.
I switched from the Z to the Z1 so even I'm a bit annoyed to see another flagship so soon (but not that p'ed off since its not a major update).
For me the Z1 is one of the best phones I had so far....but dont enjoy it nearly as much as my previous phones all thanks to the locked bootloader. That is my biggest issue with the phone as I can live with poor viewing angles (I rarely look at my phone at extreme angles) and the huge bezels (gives me something to hold without touching the actual screen). Second time I've had a permanently locked bootloader and it stings!!!
I would have sold my Z1 already but I've slightly grazed the metal frame already so exchange price wouldn't be that great.
I actually recommended the Z1 compact to my sister so these are still good phones...just not for me.
Moral of the story: I have to make sure the bootloader is 100% unloackable on the next phone I get.
Next year the Z4 will be the beast!

Interesting answers. All very valid and sensible. Seems a shame such a beautifully made handset it being almost sidelined for something that may OR may not be the mutts Nutts. End of the day we still don't have the full picture on the Z2, look at all the niggling little problems the 1 had/has.
Well, that's great news! For normal people, at least.
I bought my z1 for 360€, 3 months old, regular 2 year guarantee, without a scratch! The person that used it stated it to be to complicated an bought iPhone 5! Bad for her, great for me.
Xperia tablet Z sgp321 was bought the same way last year for 380€ just 2 weeks after European premiere. Man was ipad user for years, asked friends for the best and most expensive premium Android tablet, tried it for 2 weeks, tried to sell it for better price but couldn't as it was already to expensive for used stuff. I ran by luck at him and couldn't believe, thought it was maybe tablet S, but no, everything was regular and I got the tablet I could never aford at full price thanks to another iPhone/Ipad user!?
So, long live Sony mobile and Apple users!
On the other side, people really don't know what Sony is until they put hands on it. Clean close-to-nexus-line interface, extremely stylish and modern hw, no stupid bugs like in Samsung touchwizzed apps, no ugly dropdown menus like on LG, no undeinstallable bloatware like In Samsung or HTC, everything works and looks just like it was supposed to be.

Just because you decided to 'ignore' these issues doesn't mean they don't exist. The viewing angles are bad on all the Z1's, so unless your model is custom made, there IS an issue. If it bothers you or not, is another question. But the problem is there.
I like the phone a lot, don't get me wrong, I think that Sony would do much better in the market if they didn't have to worry about these IP-certifications - it's a great feature to have, but in the end, if they can shave off a few millimeters of bezel and eliminate these water flaps, the phone would be much nicer to use. I've tried every manufacturer and the only one that seems to care about build materials and quality is Sony, that's why I'm sticking with them - with all these quick releases (Z, Z1, Z2) it seems they are always trying to improve an already fantastic device when they hear complaints. The Z2 has less bezels and a phenomenal screen from what I hear.

Good-bye Z3C, good-bye Sony

Previously, I had an LG G2 on Verizon but wanted to leave for a different carrier, so last December I purchased through eBay a Sony Xperia Z3 Compact D5803. Initially, I was quite impressed. I really liked the LG G2 for its battery life, but the Sony Z3 Compact blew that away. And the Z3C performed a bit better, too. And I also liked that the Z3C was a bit smaller.
Then came the Lollipop update.
My battery life fell by at least 1/3 and the (non-reversible without root) update killed my NFC. And magnetic charging only works up to about 85% whether the phone is on or off. Sony is giving me a runaround, telling me to call them to ensure that my phone is under warranty. If it is, they want me to send in the phone for an evaluation that will take at least 14 days. And if a warranty repair is in order, Sony will have my phone even longer.
I pointed out to them the great inconvenience of this process, which would force me to purchase a different phone in the interim. I assured them that if this was the route I chose that I certainly wouldn't be purchasing another Sony device. So today I ordered through eBay a brand-new LG G2. It looks like I'll try sending the Z3C in. Whether they fix it or not, I will be selling the Z3C.
Thus will end my last foray into owning a Sony phone.

Did you do a factory reset?
Anyway you could roll back to KitKat through Flashtool and wait for a better Lollipop version to come (without making any root and without losing any warranty).
Don't use Stamina mode or data queuing on Lollipop. Burns battery for some reason. Lollipop battery life is better with it off than kit kat on.
I've done numerous factory resets. But I haven't tried turning off data queuing. I'll give it a shot to see what happens. Thanks.

At least show some details on the battery life yr having
And the repair process takes two weeks at least
Sorry for the newbie question, but how does one turn off data queuing?

I had a bug with exchange which checked mail every 3s (first position in battery usage). Had to delete the account and reconfigure, working now.
Well, most of your points are your major defects.
Why display is the worst? It's pretty decent imo and you can play with white balance for even better results.
I'm using KK since I got the phone ( October last year) even tho I have OTA update for Lollipop. No glass problems, no batter drain, NFC, wifi, speakers issues.
I got it for a good price on contract and yesterday I've unlocked it.
All I wanted was a newer phone with good battery life and good performance. I got that so I'm happy.

You could of just flashed stock kitkat using flashtool (no root required) then just reject the update to lollipop when it comes up..

Why is this thread still open? I've been on xda for quite some time and threads exactly like this one saying goodbye and bashing that bring nothing valuable to pple who own the phone were closed. Ok ur not happy. We got it. Move along now.

Exactly
Woah dude so much hate... Most people go for the z3 compact because of the screen size and/or battery life. In both categories it's basically unbeaten. There is no perfect device out there period. But the z3c has everything I need. If it does not suit your needs then go ahead and sell it. But it is definitely not a bad device.
Btw I'm still on KK, .0 versions tend to have problems in most cases (even ios..)
There are literally NO perfect phones. Each has its own flaws. Just buy one with the necessary features that you want and adapt with it.
Well as a previous poster noted, Sony must use different manufacturers to make the Z3C. I make that statement because it seems noone here suffers from the dreaded "sudden death" syndrome that plagues some ZC3 phones. Mine being one of them. Worked brilliantly for 6 weeks then one morning it just died. Nothing would bring it back to life. Spent 4 hours on the phone to Sony tech support here in Oz trying everything in the guys bag of tricks but nothing worked. In the end the guy said "it's faulty, return it to where you bought it". I did that, they replaced the motherboard and returned it. Worked great for 2 weeks then "sudden death" struck again. Contacted the seller who told me to send it back to the repairer. After a week I contacted the repairer to learn that there are replacing the battery and the motherboard (again). If after testing it again shows it is fixed and return it to me, I'll just toss it in the bottom draw unless my kids want it. I can't afford to have a phone that just dies with no warning.
BTW my Z3C was a Singtel Singapore phone.
If you haven't heard of the sudden death bug then just google it. Numerous users suffer from it but strangely none on this forum.
Great phone when it works. Crap when it doesn't.
You do realize you don't need root to flash the kitkat .ftf firmware available on this very website?
I have similar sentiments about the phone. My main issues are the fragility and screen quality. Out of the box the screen is very blue. And no matter what I do with the white balance it's not possible to get rid of the greyish whites. Viewing angles are great by Sony standards, but so so compared to other phones. It's a shame because I prefer lcd's over amoled screens, but this one isn't great.
The phone itself is a nice size, but the square shape diminishes the usability. And the fact that it's so fragile and slippery necessitates a case which then completely ruins the form factor. The build quality really isn't great either imo. It looks nice and the materials are decent but the phone feels hollow and unsubstantial. Contrast that to a 2013 Moto X. It's all plastic and composite materials but it's incredibly solid and has an ergonimic and grippy back.
The camera is so so in all except the best conditions.
What's then left is the Sony UI (which I think is great, but many don't) and battery life. My greatest wish for future iterations of this device is for it to be durable.

Exactly, imagine if people who don't have issues start threads like "I don't have a broken screen" or "my photos actually turn out pretty ok" or "my phone is waterproof", you wouldn't even see the ones with issues anymore, if you want to talk numbers you have to consider all z3c users, not only the ones that complain on forums. As somebody said before, the z3c isn't perfect, but then again, no phone is.

To me my z3c feels like a solid slab, not hollow at all. It's definitely much more solid than any previous Sony(Ericsson) phone I've had, which always developed creaky and clicky sounds after a while.

So G5 owners with a handset older than 4 weeks.

What is your opinion now? Still think its a good choice?
Personally i think its a great phone sold short, looking at the hardware and potential i think the handset would easy have a 2 year life span.
But i would like to see bigger modular support, things like physical keyboard, physical zoom lenses etc. And i would like to see some of the software updated a bit closer to the V20.
My biggest concern? Physically will it last 2 years? The build quality aint bad but it aint great.

Had it for 4 months, never Had a problem, just a bit of light bleeding, but it's visible only in Dark area with full brightness.
Best smartphone I ever had.
Last three were before it were Moto X Pure, Droid Turbo, and HTC M8.
I have since May, great phone. It has some issues but which phone doesn't. Ghosting happens on thia screen sometimes but nothing permanent, it goes away. I got scratches on the camera glass which is annoying (although easily replacable if you don't care about the warranty). Battery lasts around 4 hours SOT with around 30 hours of usage. I got the battery + external charger kit from Amazon for 30$ which is just great to have. Screen could be brighter. Super bright mode isn't stable enough. The camera is amazing! I love it (and I have a group of already 350 G5 photographers on Facebook). The speaker is one of the best in the market. It's fast, fingerprint sensor works great, colors are good.. I'm very happy with the phone! Oh.. important! The screen is curved on top which can be super annoying if you like to apply a tempered glass acreen protector. I don't have any issues with the build quality. I would prefer the V20 just because I like the big screen..other than that they are pretty similar. I think the G5 is the most underrated phone in the last in the last few years.
I got two of them - one for me and one for a friend. I am not really concerned about the quality, why shouldn't it last more than two years? It gives a great bang for the buck. If money isn't a concern, I would aim for the V20 (bought the G5 before it was announced and it may not be released where I live). I was with Samsung phones and Tablet for several years now but I think LG also does a good job here.
Love it. Great phone but I wouldn't have it for two years. I have Jump by T-Mobile for a reason. The only thing I hate is no matter how much they say the phone screen is scratch resistant, if I have my keys and phone in the same pocket it gets scratched. Planning on getting the V20 when it comes out. LG is taking forever to release it.

Yep, i can confirm this, and not only on my G5 but also on a S7 Edge of a friend, it seems that corning Got worse in these years on the scratch part...
I love the phone but I'm extremely disappointed in the GPS issue as I use my phone for navigation quite a lot. And my battery has never been to great. But that's probably because I'm used to the battery life I was getting on my iPhone 6 plus and Nexus 6P (wish I never sold my 6P). The camera is fantastic and as I have 2 little ones it's great for taking pictures of them.
Love my phone G5 coming from my G2 which I gave to my mother and she loves it. Camera, performance and the like are all great on my G5
GPS is fast and no issue.

Your lucky then. I try to use mine to navigate and it's hit and miss, most of the times miss and just says searching
Have had it since it rolled out. Not a single problem or issue. So impressed with it, in fact, that I recommended it to the wife and my parents when it was time for them to renew/upgrade. So now we all have g5's. Didn't recommend it to my in laws because..... They are my in laws. And because they are under the impression that "Apple is the only quality phone manufacturer". Their loss hahahaha.
I am honestly ready to throw mine through a wall. Gps is always searching and i use it alot for work. Wifi will just stop working for no reason. I am currently trying to get out of this phone. Worst phone ever.

Had mine for a month now only problem i've found is the GPS i'm gonna try some calibration software to see if there is a difference. This phone should be good for two years i think.
I like it a lot, especially camera and loudspeaker. Even better with Poetic Rugged case.
I got mine like 2 month ago and is pretty nice fast and non rooted yet just waiting how will move
I'm using it for a month now and I still can't find a flow. I like the design, love the camera, the software and hardware are doing well. Overall it's a great device. Oh, and I don't care about the moduls, don't plan to use them anyway.
Look at my warranty thread. It's been a nightmare. LG refused to switch out the housing when I sent it in, and they scratched it. Had to change the housing myself, luckily it wasn't that expensive. So far, most of the issues I had are gone. GPS is fine now, and the LCD isn't yellowing anymore.

Depends on your usage. I am not a heavy user and get all day from 0700 until 2330 with sometimes 40% left and sometimes as little as 17%.

Ok, that's good, it's the same as my s7, thx.
I would recommend you wait for the mwc (26 feb), as they will most likely present s9 and g7, which means the prices of the current flagships will go down. You may be able to afford s8 or simply save some money
No boot loops.
Battery life and performance is good. Comfortable size to hold.
Many people have complained about LG's slow update cycle, if that is important to you. The G6 is still on Nougat 7.0, and won't get Oreo for several more months.

If it concerns you, gaming performance on G6 is complete c**p for a flagship - every 5 seconds you have to pause and resume to get the smooth performance back. UI also stutters and lags like crazy, runs about 30-40fps. This is since day 1. Maybe my unit's faulty. Thinking of sending it back somehow, not worth the £500 I paid for it. By the way I'm on 16% and it's 3:50 pm. It's a shame as everything else about it is amazing, but then again, I'm a bit of a performance junkie.
