BOOT DEAD(Device not even recognizing by PC.) - Zuk Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Help. I flashed a rom for Oneplus One on my Zuk Z1(I know it's stupid). It even was a success but when I rebooted my system it just went all black. Now nothing is happening with any button combination. I tried QFIL but my device is not recognized by my PC. If anyone has any solutions then please post it. In an urgent need.

Looks like you didn't delete modem and firmware files for detection with qfil connect your phone with volume down button pressed

Thanks bro. I solved it as you told

Heavy Hard Brick Zuk Z1 international Version

HI everybody, I have a very big problem with my zuk. Trying to solve a problem about network, I thought to come back to stock via fastboot. But given that I was tired doing so many tries, I wrongly flash a zip file via fastboot instead of use adb, so the phone didn't turn on anymore. I must say first of all that it isn't my first phone, so I'm not a newbie. The real problem is: When I plug Zuk into my Pc( Windows 10) it isn't recognized as qhsusb_bulk ( It could be easy to solve the problem) but as "unknown usb device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)". I try to plug the phone pressing every button like Vol+ and power, Vol- and power but nothing to do. I' m already in Test Mode on Windows 10 and I deleted every Zuk or Qualcomm Drivers. Anyone can help me?
Thank you
Ps: Even If the screen is always off, Is there a way to boot into fastboot mode with hardware keys?

Not that I know,do you have the stock recovery or twrp?
I have the exact problem with my new zuk z1. Any idea is appreciated. The nice phone seems lost now.
Seems like you'll have to restore your zuk to the zui version again. Do you have qrst and zui version downloaded??
The service port never pops up
I do have the qpst and the zui rom. The main obstacle is that qualcomm service port never pop up.

try this:
start QFIL from the QPST folder
Click browse on the programmer path row and select prog_emmc_firehose_8974.mbn from the directory where you unzipped the QPST ZUI ROM
and then click browse on the search path row and select the xml file + the other patch file which comes after it.
When thats done, make sure phone is off and then hold vol+ while you are inserting usb cable into phone and QFIL should then detect phone,
you may need to select port in the QFIL program and be quick with it, took me a few tries before I got it right so just take out the cable
and turn off and try again if you fail to make them connect.
Not only you need to select comport, you also need to press the download button aswell as soon as possible or else phone will continue booting as normal.
If everything went well then you should have ZUI loaded onto your phone and you are met with Chinese language as default.
On the first screen you are met with, just press the button in the bottom (on screen), then press cogwheel (which is the settings),
scroll down to yet another cogwheel in here which should be below a lock icon, then press second option in here and then the top option
to change language to english incase you cant make out the chinese and you should be good to go

Actually, I think the problem is, that it will not reach the fastboot mode, due to the non-stop process of system-updating and boot-loop. I can observe for a very short time the message 'systemupdate will be installed' and then the screen becomes black again. This procedure is repeating every time. I will wait till the battery is empty and see, whether the boot with Volume-+--USB-cable will work.

Another hard bricked Z1 here.
QFIL recognizes the phone (as Qualcomm 9008 etc.). So I am able to click Download, but after a few seconds, it fails with these errors:
Code:

Unable to send FireHose NOP, Device is not in Firehose mode !
Download Fail:System.Exception: Failed to send Firehose NOP to the phone.

Download Fail:FireHose Fail FireHose Fail
Finish Download
I've tried many many times, and many different things. Still no luck .
I'd appreciate if anyone could input some new ideas of other stuff to try. Thanks

Of course I have tried this, with two different computers and two different USB cable, both actually working on my N5X. But the point is, that I do not reach the point, that qfil recognizes the phone. Also not with the trick of starting with power-button/USB-cable. It constantly tries to reboot and with adb I get a message 'not authorized' .

I think in my case the after the first successful CM13-snapshot-installation was two fold:
1. I have not enabled USB-debugging and do not have had connected it to my computer after the first CM13-installation.
2. Due to some unknown reason the automatically update via CM itself has boot looped.
The second point is not a real problem, I think. I have had a bootloop many times before with other phones, as well as with the Zuk, but I was always able to resolve the problem with adb. I think the first point was the problem, so adb wasn't possible, due to authorization problems. The reason why qfil does not work, I really do not know exactly, but qfil in fact was not able to recognize the phone.
I have the same problem. Totally bricked.
No charge, no PC recognise, nothing.
I tried with QFIL but the PC does not recognise the port.
I don't know what else I can do. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Sry, no I do not have
Hello!
I have dealt with this sort of problem before and have successfully un-bricked my friend's device. I will be posting a guide to solve this problem soon.
Hang-on!

A2017G bricked with Lineage OS and Twrp

Hullo,
I succesfully installed Lineage with no problems in the OS, but was unable to access TWRP as it asked for a decryption pattern that didn't seem to match the pattern I set on my phone. I then tried a password in the OS but this also didn't work in TWRP.
After checking the thread again, I found Unjustified had recommended the TWRP found in his bootloader, which I then downloaded and proceeded to install via fastboot. The installation appeared to go smoothly but after that I was unable to turn on my phone.
After pressing the power button I am presented with either the battery icon or the ZTE logo, which disspears after a few seconds followed by three flashing red lights. The last flashing light seems to be cut off part way.
I thought this might be a dead battery but even after charging for an extended period of time the result is the same.
Any help would be very much appreciated!

Your phone doesn't seem to be bricked at all.
That was a known issue many G users encountered...
Just boot into TWRP by pressing Power and volume + or choosing it from the bootloader warning screen and reflash the universal B15 N bootloader.
Reboot your phone and from now on it should boot every N rom just fine :fingers-crossed:
Good luck,
Martin

I'm glad to hear it is quite common, but I should mention that the three lights persist when I try to load TWRP... I can only get as far as the ZTE logo.
The bootloader warning also hasn't shown since I attempted to flash TWRP as the phone appears to cut off after showing ZTE.
I will try an overnight charge in case the battery is completely empty and somehow slow charging. But any other suggestions are most welcome.
Kind regards,
James

You should try some button combinations like
Power + volume down
Power + volume down + volume up
And see how the device reacts
It helps connecting the device to a PC to look up in device manager to determine the mode its booted in

Thanks for the continued help.
I was just trying to connect it to the PC and appear to have made some headway, it started off showing up as qusb_bulk, but after repeatedly deleting that driver I returned to Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM6).
As I understand axon7root *should be able to write to the device at this point.
Does this device name give any indication as to the problem?
I wonder if miflash could be used on a G model to unbrick it. I'm happy to restart from stock files.

As you are in EDL now you have some options.
First I would try to flash a recovery and boot image that is proven to be working fine e.g official twrp https://forum.xda-developers.com/axon-7/development/recovery-official-twrp-zte-axon-7-t3515715 or some A2017G stock boot.img
If that doesn't help you could get in contact with @jcadduono to be a tester for that miflash method. (As your device is already pretty badly bricked)
I don't exactly know how EDL flashing works if it depends on a exact GPT table or not.
But I can say that I flashed every single part of the A2017U bootloader except for NON-HLOS (modem) on my A2017G for each B29 and B15 and it worked just fine. So maybe we just have to exchange the modem file in the EDL package :silly:
If you don't want to take that risk you also could try sending it back to ZTE and hope they don't check the bootloader :fingers-crossed:
(Just a thought: Maybe if the EDL package won't work on your device it will be so heavily damaged ZTE can't check for bootloader unlock and accept it as a warranty case, but don't take that too seriously )
Regards,
Martin

If you are not afraid then try to use my package for A2017G with MiFlash: https://mega.nz/#!88BjXKhA!TnVSobBw5PkmShSqZ-Ni8MCCbnhJP2SWRNvvXqYHSjc
I really appreciate all this advice!
Looks like the MiFlash is promising. I was able to load the phone into MiFlash from the [EDL] thread. I have just tried the A2017G package provided by djkuz and will report back with any updates.
Just got to the mifavor screen, charging the battery from empty, although quickcharge appears to be functional again.
The charging battery logo is different from before so appears that this bootstack has done the trick.
The flashing red light has gone now, appears to be loading Lineage as before! I'm so grateful for all this help
However, now the unlock pattern is coming up as 'wrong pattern'. Is there anything that can be done? My settings appear to be saved as before (wallpaper and quick settings are the same).
I will attempt to reinstall twrp recovery and fix the lockscreen over adb. Thanks very much for the help. The brick has gone!!

A2017U Totally unresponsive - blank screen - unresponsive to any button combination

Has anyone any idea on how to get out of this situation. Device totally unresponsive, screen is black blank and displays nothing irrespective of button press combinations, including EDL. Not that its of any consequence now but this was achieved by my flashing a data file onto and overwriting the "aboot protected partition"
Device cannot be switched "on" and therefore is not recognized by windows device manager. Windows has all drivers installed i.e. ZTE - Qualcomm - Qualcomm EDL, although this is rather a moot point considering the device won't switch on.
The following files are still alive both on my device external SD card and in a windows "C:" folder --- B20 file, B27 file, B29 file, B15 file, plus a TWRP backup. To repeat myself all and every button combination has been used to no effect.
I rather much doubt that I shall get an answer to this question but has anyone any idea as to how I can get in the position where I can flash any of the above files?
Attempt to put it in edl mode I believe there is an unbrick guide somewhere around here. Aboot is related to bootloader so your phone is bricked.
Do you hear any sound from the PC when you connect the phone? This is particularly important because with the "wrong" driver enabled your device may not show in Device Manager, but it most likely, may have booted into EDL mode. Please check this and post back. If there's a sound on connect, there is hope. Nothing ZaDig and the new unbrick guide can't help you fix. I was in a similar hopeless situation a few weeks back but I resolved it with the help of the unbrick guide.
@george241312 ... @KwesiJnr ... I appreciate your answers and thank you for bothering to reply.
george ... Sad to say I was fully aware of what I was doing when I overwrote the "aboot" partition and anticipated ending up in something like my present situation. I have one final line of help to try before giving up all together.
Kwesi ... The only sound my device made was agonizing screams as I totally bricked it.
THANK YOU ALL BUT NO MORE REPLIES IF YOU PLEASE - CONSIDER THIS MATTER CLOSED ..... The device is dead due to my own stupidity and I will just live with that.
Try connecting the phone to another computer or wall charger ?

Pixel Experience causing hard brick?? Please help...

HI was wondering if you could help me fix my 6P booting issue, it seems to be bricked after trying to install an android 9.0 rom
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/development/rom-statixos-t3832438
^ that one in particular, I think i did something wrong because right after I flashed it with TWRP it completely blacked out, and nothing comes on the screen. My computer will recognize it but can't seem to recognize its software. I have tried to put it into recovery mode with the buttons and it doesn't work, however my computer makes a noise as if I have plugged in the device. I am not quite sure what to do, could you help?
Here's what I had done, downloaded the ROM, TWRP FBE (it was supplied as a download link) and GAPPS. I went into TWRP, it required me to put in a password (I assume that this is because when my phone boots it requires a password to get into the OS and I don't know how to remove it). I put in the same password to TWRP, got in and did a complete wipe of everything, I then installed the ROM & Gapps, then rebooted the device and once I did it went black and nothing happened. I tried to reset it to the bootloader/recovery with the buttons and nothing happened... however, when I plug in and unplug the USB in my laptop its still able to tell that a device is hooked to it but doesn't recognize it. When I hold the buttons down to get into recovery my computer recognizes that its there but not that its in recovery mode while the screen is black. I can't seem to get Skipsoft toolkit or NRT to recognize it. Can someone please help me fix this? I think that this is a hard brick issue and I am trying to fix this as soon as possible. Please if its more convenient call or send me a text to communicate faster I am using hangouts 8594100253
Sounds for me like if the phone were in EDL mode. Check if its in EDL mode by reading and understanding this: https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/guide-how-to-bring-to-life-dead-nexus-t3581948

Hardbricked to Qualcomm USB 9008

Really hoping someone can help me out here. I have a Nexus 6P, Non-BLOD. Yesterday, after clean flashing the latest version of EvoX, while setting some things up, device randomly crashed. No Shut down animation or anything. Just black screen. Tried turning it on via Power Button and then Power And Volume Buttons but nothing works. Connected it to PC and see it's Detected as Qualcomm USB Bulk (9008) in Coms and Ports. Did some research and found out I have to flash via QFIL. And this is where I am stuck. I tried several versions, but it doesn't flash/gives Shara error. I tried reinstalling driver. I also read a guide here. But the Firmware link is dead and it says to flash via MiFlash, something I can't even try since the Link in the OP is dead. I tried some different versions of QFIL but all of them give a Sahara Communication error. Now I'm pretty much at a loss on what to do. I'd really like to fix my 6P. And I would appreciate anyone taking the time to point me in the right direction, or help me fix it. Thanks in Advance.

I used another qfil firmware
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PixuumVVzxBKUsQ88X3AJ21Hsi2mV3Zq/view
Here is the link .. you can find the firehose and all files in the firmare folder . Best of Luck
I have a similar situation where I am unable to power on the phone in any way, and I am only able to communicate with the qualcom USB 9008 driver.
I am following your instructions using the firmware files you provided (thank you!) and I can see an attempt is being made to download the files before sahara error occurs.
I don't think I enabled developer options when my Nexus 6P was working and wondered if sahara error is due to that.
I was wondering if you had previously enabled developer options by tapping on the build number several times, once the operating system booted and if that is a critical step in being able to recover the Nexus 6p from this hard bricked state where I am stuck in EDL 9008 mode, and unable to access bootloader, and volume+power keys do not do anything...I feel like I'm screwed (and already moved on) but using time these days to learn about android devices!
thanks!
