LG G6 870DS on T-Mobile US calls go straight to voicemail? - LG G6 Questions and Answers

Hi guys,
For the past week or so any call that I receive are going straight to voicemail if I'm on LTE, but I have no problems when I'm on the GSM or WCDMA networks. I can make calls if I'm on LTE, but I think the phone drops to GSM or WCDMA in order to make the call.
Anyone else having this issue? Tmobile doesn't seem to think there's anything wrong as I can still use data when I'm on LTE and suggested factory reset. I've gotten a new sim card, reset network, factory reset...nothing so far! Very frustrating.
Edit:
After further investigation it looks like Tmobile did some network change and since this phone has no way to turn on voLTE that I can find, that's what's causing the issue. At least this is my assumption. I wonder if it's because I have the India variant of the phone?? I know Tmobile supports voLTE...

OnePlus 3T T-Mobile VoLTE issues/fix

I know this has other threads, but I wanted to post something that helped me get VoLTE working that none of the other threads addressed.
Quick background: new to TMobile, new to the 1+ brand. Rooted, stock. I could get LTE, but I kept getting kicked to roaming AT&T H+ or 3G, couldn't get VoLTE, and very slows speeds even when on LTE. Tried every APN combo, network settings reset, factory phone reset, tried every *#*#4636#*#* preferred network type...nothing. Chatted in to 1+ asking if I could speak to technical support. The response was the only way to fix it was to factory reset (which I had already done) and downgrade OOS. The newest OOS has the T-Mobile optimizations, so downgrading makes no sense! Needless to say, the whole 30 min chat was a waste of time and just a bunch of weak canned responses with no attempt to really help or figure out how to escalate me to someone with some knowledge of the APNs and settings needed.
Out of desperation, or since I had tried every other possible trick, I went under my T-Mobile SIM, Network Operators, and toggled Auto Choose and manually chose TMobile 4G.
Boom, full bands 4, 12 and VoLTE, and normal speeds! Carrier aggregation is even working sometimes.
I don't know why Auto Choose doesn't know how to grab 4G permanently, but everything is working!
Does anyone have any idea why this fixed it? Since I choose 4G, will I lose my ability to get 3G in rural areas? I don't feel like there was much info on how VoLTE is provisioned on the phone.
What's everyone's experience with the preferred network settings? I'm currently in LTE/UMTS, and I don't have the LTE/GSM option that apparently everyone else has...?
Also, does everyone else have as sporadic speeds as I do? One moment it'll be 40 down, next it'll be 6? I know it has to do with bands, but should there be a way to even that out a little?
Sidenote: I really like 1+ mentality about rooting and software, since I have to have a rooted phone, but this experience really soured my first impression. Plus their 1+5 is a major letdown to me. I don't think I'll purchase anymore 1+ products.
Feel free to correct any misinformation in my post.
I also have noticed when I try streaming, webpages or speedtests the little LTE+ carrier aggregation kicks in to combine band 4 and 12 and I get pretty good speeds. See screenshot
My speeds do definitely vary on Tmobiles network. Isn't an issue for me, everything streams fine, also i haven't had an issue with VOLTE since I got the phone in February..
I noticed when I'm in a roaming area, instead of roaming now, I completely lose service. I believe this is because I manually selected TMobile 4G as my operator instead of auto, which would allow the phone to jump to AT&T. Any ideas?
So still having problems, but only when traveling. If I have network operator on "auto" it'll select AT&T roaming, but then it'll just stick then and never switch back to TMobile, even in full strength band 4 or 12 areas. I have to reboot, and toggle auto for it to grab a T-Mobile signal. Very irritating. This also kicks the phone off VoLTE, and I've yet to get it back. Not sure if this is TMobile or the phone's fault. Tried everything I can think of. Any ideas?

Excuse my ignorance, but what would a new SIM accomplish, technically speaking that is?
FYI, my wife's HTC 10 does the same thing. That would make two bad SIMs unlikely?

I've had same problem as yours, I went to T-Mobile store and told them what was going on. They switched my SIM card and problem fixed. I was told because my SIM was too old (4 years at least) that's why i was having such issue.

Gotcha thanks, I'll give it a try! What's weird is our SIMs are only weeks old....

That's what I've been thru and got fixed. Hopefully it'll work for you too
New SIM, no change
This phone has the features I want, and T-Mobile has the speeds I want, but this is frustrating to be kicked to roaming and no VoLTE....

Sorry to hear that it didn't work out for you. I attached couple of screenshots just to show you that it's been working good for me after I switched SIM card.
Edit: have you tried to create a new APN instead of using the default APN?
Edit 2: I can show you my APN if you want
Sorry, must have not been clear. I can get LTE, just not automatically after going into a roaming area. It just sticks on AT&T roaming until I manually go back in and select TMobile 4G. The problem with that is when I do need roaming to work, it won't because I have TMobile 4G manually selected.
Another problem is that I can't get VoLTE to stay very long, in fact i haven't had it for a couple days, despite me being in a very strong LTE area.
I appreciate your help
Edit: yes, if I could see your APN that'd be great!

Just create a new APN exactly as mine and see if it works
Hmm yeah that's the one I have too....
Btw, maybe I just needed to wait,, but VoLTE is working again, and it's reporting the correct IMEI (it wasn't before but TMobile told me that wasn't a big deal...I beg to differ because now my TMobile app is working whereas before it wasn't) Fingers crossed the new SIM did the trick! I'll know tomorrow when I commute to work and it starts roaming whether it'll reacquire T-Mobile and VoLTE
Quick update: I definitely have noticed an improvement in jumping off AT&T roaming back onto TMobile LTE. AND VoLTE is now sticking. But... I'm inclined to think it's something related to me not having my second Verizon SIM in. I have a company work number on a Verizon SIM that enables me to text and call from that number. Obviously data doesn't work but that doesn't bother me since I have TMobile unlimited on my personal SIM. When I insert my Verizon SIM in the second slot, my IMEI number changes in the testing menu, but not my settings info! What the heck? The IMEI number identifies the phone and shouldn't change...I thought? Very confused why part of my phone retains the correct IMEI and the testing changes. I instantly lose VoLTE and my TMobile app fails to authenticate.
What is going on???
UPDATE:
I popped my Verizon SIM in again (slot 1) and it's reporting the xx...15 IMEI (correct one on my T-Mobile account) and the T-Mobile SIM (slot 2) then drops to xx...07! I'm so confused! I thought the IMEI is NOT supposed to change because it identifies the device?? The ICCID is the SIM number? Why is Verizon SIM screwing this up?

moto e4 verizon end call

hello this is my first post
i unlock the moto e4 verizon with unlock code and it was unlocked but the phone cant make calls anyone else have this problem with the moto e4 verizon
What network u trying to use ? GSM services will only work for data and text .calls just end
Why don't you flash the stock images from the unlocked variant?
Be default, Verizon lock prepay phones from making call.
Although that's interesting because call works for me using Mint Sim. Try factory resetting as well.
Had the same problem, and then noticed that there was no APN listed. After manually entering the APN info from my other T-Mobile phone, I was able to make and receive calls without any trouble. Only thing was that the network drops to 3G during the call--not sure what to do about that.
maybe worth a shot
change preferred network from 4g to 3g, make a call, and change preferred network back to 4g. It's been working for me in cricket that way. same thing in post #8 of this thread

got the code from ebay
The Verizon E4 Plus works fine for me after unlocked. Tested with both AT&T and Tmobile with no issues. I purchased yesterday at Target for $99 and requested $2 unlock code yesterday. Got code this morning and it works great.
For some reason the device automatically drops to 3G when making or receiving calls. However voice quality is good if not HD.
Overall this is a pretty strong device for under $100...shame is you cant unlock bootloader.
Here's a video showing receiving call and dropping to 3G.
After putting my Cricket sim card in, entering unlock code, and setting up the phone, I followed the "trick" so phone calls would stop dropping to 3G and stay on 4G LTE but it would not work. I tried the following:
1. Change to 3G, made a call, change to LTE, made a call and it still dropped/showed 3G
2. Change to 3G, made a call, and restarted phone. Change to LTE, made a call and it showed 3G still
3. Change to 3G, made a call, and restarted phone. Change to LTE, restarted phone, made a call and it showed 3G still.
The Cricket APN is set correctly as I see 4G LTE when not in a phone call. I am able to make/receive calls, sms, mms (for mms had to use Textra over the default Message+ app).
Any other ideas I can try to get phone calls to be on LTE?

Hmm...someone on Slickdeals replied to me saying for Cricket, to get "HD-Voice", you need compatible Cricket phones, which the Moto E4 Plus clearly isn't --> https://www.cricketwireless.com/support/apps-and-services/hd-voice/customer/compatible-phones.html
Not a big deal about having phone calls drop to 3G. I was just curious because people and the wiki mention to do that "phone 3G/LTE" workaround.
I can't add any APN. On the Settings, I get a message "Access Point Name settings are not available for this user". There is no way for me to add any APN. Mobile Data works on my T-Mobile SIM.
Edit: Never mind. My bad. I was juggling two of these phones and only one of them had a SIM card. The one with the SIM card allowed me to add an APN.
But I wonder now how this is going to work when I travel abroad and have to use a SIM that would roam across multiple networks. I'd have to add each one manually? Without knowing which networks are available?
Phone(verizon e4plus ) took an ota while on att sim (was sleeping didn't notice til now ) now I only get busy signal tone when I call out I still have not and text messages just can't call out again without that dial tone happening

Unlocked S8 switched from ATT to T-Mobile and lost VoLTE; factory reset didn't fix

I used prepaid T-Mobile from the first day that I had this phone and never had an issue with VoLTE. I decided to switch to AT&T prepaid for a month to try it out, and it wasn't very good in my area, so I decided to switch back. AT&T prepaid doesn't have the specific feature where LTE data service remains while on a voice call (I'm drawing a blank on what this is called at the moment), so I wasn't surprised when on AT&T's network that the phone would drop back to 2G for data service while on a voice call. However, after switching back to T-Mobile, the phone is still falling back to 2G while on voice calls. My girlfriend also has an S8 on T-Mobile and so I can verify that we can be on Band 12 and she can place a call and remain with LTE data while I fall back to 2G.
As for troubleshooting that I have done so far... The software did update when I put my T-Mobile SIMcard in and I verified the APN settings and that VoLTE is enabled. I also did a factory reset with the SIM card in the phone and it still did not work. At this point, I'm just looking for suggestions on what I could try next. I don't understand how a factory reset could have not fixed this. Any input from those knowledgeable about how the software updates for specific carriers modify the phone would be helpful. Thanks for the help.
Bump... Anyone have any ideas of what's I could try next?

S7-Edge Sprint To Verizon? - Already Unlocked

Hello,
I was hoping someone might be able to give me some insight.
I have a s7 edge that has been unlocked by sprin, an is being used on Verizon. (I CAN MAKE AN RECEIVE CALLS) but only when roaming settings are on so the phone thinks its in roaming 24/7. I can disable roaming and get good internet connection with lte but when going to make a call it drops all bars.
However i know with the sprint (software?/voodoo) band 13 is blocked thats what causing it but if i were to flash the device
with verizon firm is it possible will i be able to get the phone to use band 13?
i seen somethings about not being able to update firm because its locked or something?
my software version is G935PVPSACSF1.

LG V20 F800L Korean Variant LTE Network connectivity Issue

Hi, I am not sure if this question is valid or not but i have bough a used LG V20 F800L model a few days back. This phone i am using outside Korea so tried my Airtel sim. Phone accepts the sim (i guess not locked) but only shows 2G/3G not LTE. I even roam like drive-test to see if at any point it caches LTE signal but not. Airtel CC confirmed that they can see in their system that the phone and sim is 4G. i tried going to hidden feature but didn't find any option such as fieldtest to force it to LTE. I dont know if the phone is LG U+ locked or something else but want any help possible to push it to LTE.
Also i notice that this phone takes lot of time to connect to network even on 2G/3G, searches for long time when reboot or insert sim again.
Help me if possible
