I have the same phone from CPW; have had it for about a week now after the sad demise of my Nexus 5X. So far, no screen flickering...

dead/burnt/stuck pixel?

my samsung epic has one dead/stuck pixel, it shows up in red in a white or green background. i've tried using JSscreenfix twice for about 10 min the first time, and at least 20 the next time, both times did nothing.
this is my second epic. the first one i cracked so i got a replacement with insurance. does this second one have a 30 day warranty from the time that i got it? it has been less than 30 days, i think

Yes, from the day you receive it you have 30 days.
Yeah I would return it ASAP.
My phone came up with a dead pixel a few days ago i flicked it with my finger and it went away.
My first Epic had a handset speaker problem. Returned it to Amazon.
My second Epic had a dead pixel on the notification bar. Returned it to Amazon.
My third Epic may be having microphone problems... God I hope not.
Three cheers for Amazon, though. They rock.

Nexus 4 Display

Ok so today I wake my phone like I would any other day, but my screen starts to bug out. The display became all jittery and it was not uniform. Im not sure how to explain it, It was very distorted and started to flicker a little. I reset it 2 times and it began to improve. Right now, the issue is gone completely, but Im not sure if it will happen again. Also the phone became VERY hot after.
I'm running ParanoidAndroid Feb 03, stock kernel. I did use the Nexus 4 Display Control app to adjust the color a little bit, but not too much.
I've never dropped it and it never got wet or anything.
Any help?
How much did you adjust the colour by? There's a chance you adjusted it outside the 'safe' parameters.
I had the same problem. I returned the original phone they sent me. When I got the new replacement phone after just a few days it acted up the same problem. I returned it to Google and never purchase the Nexus 4 again. I'm glad the gave ma a full refund minus the shipping though. Right now I'm still searching for a good reasonably price phone :fingers-crossed:
Just return it and ask for full refund before your warranty runs out.

[Q] How to tell if my Nexus 4 is defective? (Earpiece and battery)

Hi all,
I just received my nexus 4 on Monday, 02/11/2013 and haven't used it since first day. When I turned it on on first day, it was around 90% and I turned it off after. All i did was scroll around on the nexus like the preloaded apps and options for maybe an hour max. Just yesterday on Friday, I turned it on and it was completely dead. I read somewhere that the standby time was approx 16-19 days and its only been 4 days, and i turned the device off. I was wondering if its a battery defect of some sort so I can request exchange. How can i test the battery if its normal, like for apple, i can let a movie play continuously to compare it to the data apple gave to see if its the same.
Another thing is that my nexus does have the earpiece buzz, when i put it on my ear, i hear this buzzing noise that kept beeping then there is a pause maybe half a second here and there. Even when the screen is off and even on. I was wondering if this is a big deal or is common as many people complained about it. I currently don't have a plan so i cannot test the call option if its buzzing while calling. Should i ask for exchange?
Also the update was downloaded today of 4.2.2 (currently running 4.2) and I wanted to know if I should update it, but I do want to use lte option /menu later since I am in Canada and it does work on some carrier.
And is there any other defect or problem i should check for other than these?
Thanks very much in advance!
RMA it....mines had distortion, my 2nd one is all good!

I received mine on Feb 6. It also had the buzzing earpiece issue, and still has it after the 4.2.2 OTA update.
Standby time will probably only be 16-19 days with all radios and the screen off. I'm pretty sure my Nexus 4 will be completely dead after 2 days at most if I left it untouched but with WiFi and cellular radios on. I would give it some more time before deciding to RMA for battery problems.
Other defects to note: My phone has a speck of dust under the screen that can be seen on a white background. Touchscreen response is buggy while charging.

Moto X XT1092 Screen Burn In & Battery Issues

I've had my Moto X for around 8 months now and I'm nothing but pleased with it, apart from it's now going back to Motorola for repair.
Day to day I generally check my phone a few times an hour and maybe have an hour or 2 of constant usage each day, all with the brightness set to the middle. Despite this, I've got major screen burn in along the top and bottom. If I put my phone on any white screen I can clearly see Priority Mode, Wifi, Network, Battery and Alarm symbols along the top, and a triangle / circle / square along the bottom.
Has anyone else had this issue with there screens or do you think it's just a one in a million chance sort of problem? The moto support team have been pretty good, although they've sent me 2 RMA numbers now that expire in 5 days, despite saying I want one where I can send it back at the start of September (it being early-mid august now).
I've also noticed battery issues with the phone, in that the sensor isn't reporting the real battery percentage correctly. For example 20% generally means I've got about 10% left, and 10% usually means about 2%...
How is everyone else finding there Moto X's after almost a year? Any issues like this cropping up or has it been smooth sailing?

Hi
I've had my moto X for only 4 month.
On the 3rd month, I already had burn in on the navigation bar. Now, I have on both navigation and status bar, it's very visible on my device. Actually, I've contacted motorola and they told me to send it back and that they would repair it, but I doubt they'll change the whole amoled screen.
I think they're just gonna send it back, so I'm just gonna deal with it I think. It's sad, because now I can't unlock my bootloader untill I send it back, so I can't root and flash roms.
Anyways, good luck with yours bud!
I have the same screen burn problems even though screen timeout is 30 seconds. Did not notice the battery issue you mentioned.

Phone getting red hot.

Hi I received this phone yesterday. It was sold by Amazon warehouse deals as like new. When I first took it out the box the battery was completely dead.Once it was charged enough to turn on I started setting it up.It felt warmer than any phone I have used before but I thought it might because I was using it while it was charging.I got it setup and charged and today it is still running hot.Battery monitor apps say 108 degrees and I can almost see the battery percentage dropping one percent every couple minutes.I like the phone and would like to be able to figure out what is going on,but I'm pretty sure this is why it was returned the first time.Thanks.

Turn it off like right now before it blows up, seriously.
As above... And return it as faulty (not to be resold!)
Sent it back defective with comments not to resell it and describing the issues with it.

Are you with Verizon by chance? If so, are you running Android 8.1 firmware from March or April (OPM1.180104.092 or OPM1.180104.141)? Also, is the phone intermittently shutting off after a huge heat spike near the fingerprint sensor on the back? If so, I've got your answer lol.
* Verizon?
* Android 8.1
* Really damn hot then shuts off?
I had this issue, got a new phone, and had the issue still. I will enlighten you as to what is happening if thats the case.
