I checked the two backup & it has some 5 files. None says efs backup.
When tried to restore the backup, there is only System to restore.

Nothing worked for me &
I had to send my C9 Pro to Samsung service center.
The Service center guy told the warranty is void as I have rooted the phone & they cannot repair it ( I did flash original stock rom to make it official).
But nothing worked out. My phone is dead now just because I flashed C9000 on C900F.

Your phone is dead because you did not backup efs. If you would of done that you never would of had an issue. Where is your mobile now? Maybe donate it to a dev if your can't get it repaired.

Hi Travis,
I got my phone repaired at Samsung Service Center for free.
I know someone there.
They changed the whole Motherboard & gave it.
It's working perfectly fine now.
I backed up the EFS partition & rooted the phone & using Xposed framework. The way I want the phone.
Eagerly waiting for Lineage OS for C900F Indian Variant.

Right on! Could use a box to do the same without a mobo swap too. Lineage is getting there. Be patient.

Yes. I first tried to get the phone fixed locally using 2 boxes. But no luck. They told me to take the phone to Service Centre. I took it to Samsung Service Centre & they used the box to fix I. But they could not.
They told me they have to replace the 64 GB part which is on Motherboard & they replaced it.
Will wait patiently for the Lineage OS..
Thanks.. :good:

How do I backup my IMEI?

I was told to backup my IMEI before fashing CM14.1. I looked at this guide and because I don't want to go through the hassle rooting my phone I decided to go with the twrp backup way because I was going to backup with twrp anyway. But when I go to backup it doesn't show the EFS partitition like in the guide. I have Boot, System, Data and Cache. Will I need to root my phone or is there an easy fix to this? Also my phone is a moto G4 and not a G4 plus but I thought I'd ask here because the non-plus forum is kinda dead.

5. Open Flashfire and select RAW partition backup.
(I would backup all, but for IMEI you only need modem partitions)

So do I need to root my phone or is the IMEI stored in any of the other partitions TWRP backs up? Also, can't I just write down my number from the about tab in Android?

EDIT: I restored my backup and it's fine now. But I sure did almost have a heart attack. I am on nougat soak test which was causing issues.
I did the second step but now my IMEI doesn't show up anymore, my SIM isn't found, I can't find any networks, my IP address is gone, my mac address is reset. Do I restore the backup?
tl;dr: topic in the second step barely points out the fact it only works on marshmellow (small, non bold, normal size letters at the top of the topic), flashed it anyway, almost lost my IMEI while trying to backup... my IMEI
EDIT 2: sorry for being such a noob, but wouldn't it be better to go straight to CM, root it with CM's built-in rooting functionality and then do the backup? Would there be a higher chance of losing an IMEI number in the process of that than in the process of your instructions because for your instructions I need to go back to marshmellow, root, backup IMEI, flash nougat (people say CM has less issues if you flash nougat first), flash CM? How do you even 'lose' your IMEI?
I'm sorry I didn't realise you where using nougat.
Yes flashing CM and then using flashfire will work just fine.
You will be taking a backup of the soak version of your modem partitions.
You won't loose your IMEI flashing CM because it doesn't change the modem partitions.
The only way you can loose your IMEI is by using fastboot (or flashfire) and flashing the wrong version.
So you don't need to worry about losing your IMEI at this stage.

I may be asking a stupid question but how do you "lose" your imei? Isn't that the serial number to the device. I mean it's stamped on the back of the battery. I wouldn't think that is possible, isn't that how your phone gets blacklisted?

The phone cannot read what's stamped on the back of the battery. It needs something to tell it that the IMEI number is so-and-so. The IMEI number thus is stored in a particular partition of your phone, one that is usually never touched by the average user.

Baseband unknown

My nexus 6p is not showing IMEI and also showing unknown for Baseband version. I have no efs backup. Tried reflashing stock firmware, erasing modemst1, modemst2, modem, fsg, custom rom (RR), and tried them in different combinations. Yet it still shown baseband unknown. :crying:
Is there any way I can get modemst1 and modemst2? Please suggest a solution to fix this. Warranty over a week before this happened. And it happened out of nowhere. :crying:
Baseband is the radio, isn't it? You can get the latest image from here:

You might want to do a complete install of the latest system image if flashing the radio doesn't solve your problem:

I'm not sure that either of these will restore your IMEI, however. Do you have a CDMA or GSM phone?

Thanks for the reply. I tried both of em. Is there any way i can get fsg, modemst1, modemst2 files? Im thinking of finding another Nexus 6P and copying its files and somehow editing the IMEI information using some HEX editor and then uploading to my phone.
If it is alright then can you or someone send me their modemst1, modemst2 and fsg files after editing their IMEI no. ?
This site provide how to edit your IMEI: androidbrick (Change it to something like 876543210123456)
Btw my phone is LTE/GSM
I think if you can get a hold of someone's EFS backup and restore it on your phone it would restore your missing IMEI number. The problem is finding someone who is willing to provide you with a copy of their EFS backup.
I was able to get the IMEI number for my Nexus 6P from Google Dashboard:
http://www.google.com/settings/dashboard
Once you know your IMEI you may be able to restore it with an app like IMEI Tweak.

How did you erase modemst1 & modemst2? From an ADB shell like this? I can't find it to save my life, but I did read if the EFS partitions are formatted properly they will rebuild from firmware on first boot. You stated phone is out of warranty, but did you actually get denied when you called Huawei? There may be an unadvertised warranty/RMA for your phone's current state, or they may be able to suggest a fix.

I erased using dd command as stated in your link provided. But even after several reboots, and several uploads of different ROMS, it still is zero (Both modemst1 and modemst2).
My phone was bought from a different country, and hence warranty was not accepted in my country. Even the people at the Huawei service center was not very helpful.
I'm actually waiting for my friend to root his phone(unlocking required which will erase the user data) so that I can get the modem files. If fixed I'll message you.

From what I've read if your friend makes an EFS backup you can use that to restore yours. If the modem restore doesn't work you might want to try that,

Hi,
You can try this:
Find someone having the same firmware. Root his phone and download all the partitions from his phone (from "/dev/block/platform/soc.0/f9824900.sdhci/by-name" using dd command or adb pull (in root mode). To change the IMEI from his to yours, use a hex editor and edit the IMEI in one of the partitions (I think it was in modemst1 or modem or devinfo partition).
I have tried this but my mobile was bought from UAE and Indian firmware did not work. But that fixed some restart issue, heating problem and the phone was more stable which implied the problem was definitely some corrupted partitions.
If you get it fixed please do tell me. Good luck.
Please do keep backup of your partitions

In theory the Nexus 6P should rebuild the EFS Partitions if you overwrite them with zeros.
I used the following to fix my 6P back when TWRP v3.0.2-1 had a bug that restored the EFS1 partition to both EFS slots, causing the phone to not boot.
Try this:
Boot your Nexus 6P into TWRP;
Plug the phone into a PC that has ADB tools installed;
Then on PC, open Command Prompt with access to ADB and execute the following commands:
ADB shell dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/soc.0/f9824900.sdhci/by-name/modemst1 bs=16384
and
ADB shell dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/soc.0/f9824900.sdhci/by-name/modemst2 bs=16384
Let me know if this works for you.

Have you tried flashing a factory image to your 6P?
If not, I would backup all of your data to a computer and flash a stock factory image to your 6P and see if this resolves the issue.
You can find the images and instructions at the link below under the section titled "angler for Nexus 6P"
Make sure to NOT re-lock the bootloader at this point (just skip that step in the flashing instructions).
Keep in mind, this will remove TWRP from your 6P and revert back to the stock Recovery - keep the stock recovery and boot the 6P fully to see if the issue is resolved. If your IMEI returns, you can then flash TWRP and backup your EFS partitions.

I had same issue on my OnePlus X. I kept backing up and restoring EFS partion everytime I needed a restore which now know not suppose to do. Unknown baseband and no imei. Anyways the way I fixed it was simply booting into bootloader mode, fastboot command window type
"fastboot erase modemst1 "
"fastboot erase modemst2 "
I never tested on my Nexus 6p so use at own risk.

I9505 "no service" on custom rom

Hello,
there is something weird going on: If I flash a custom rom (cm13, cm14.1/Lineage14.1) the 9505 shows the "no service" notification and network service is actually not available. Wifi just works fine. I ve read about problems with the baseband and some IMEI problems but both seems to be ok.
What I habe done in overview:
Rooted the phone with Heimdall and CF Root by chainfire
installed TWRP via app
full backup of original firmware
full wipe
flash custom rom (CM13/CM14)
"no service"
If i wipe and restore the original firmware again, mobile network is just working fine!!!
So, what could be the problem? I was wondering if its a hardware problem but as described with samsung os it works. So please help me!
Thanks and best regards,
hibbert
Is the phone running the latest bootloader and modem?
Try flashing the Optimized Lineage ROMs, 13 or 14 doesn't matter.. Those are unified, so chances are that it will work on many Snapdragon S4 models.

You can compare the bootloader and modem to ROMs found at sammobile.com. The phone looks like it is up to date so I'm not sure why it is not connecting to your carrier.
Try using the IMEI Backup/restore tool by Antaresone:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2975136
Start with a working firmware making sure you have installed the tool as directed in the above thread.
Using a terminal emulator type SU and grant root access.
Type imeibkp and hit enter. Allow it to create a backup.
Flash ROM of choice, Gapps, and the IMEI Backup.
Boot ROM and using WiFi reinstall a terminal emulator.
Run the IMEI backup/restore tool and restore your IMEI backup.
Reboot.
This method has worked for me in the past. Hope it helps.
Until now i cant fix the problem. The imeibkp solution did not work. Any other ideas?
Best regards

Type imeibkp and hit enter. Allow it to create a backup.
Flash ROM of choice, Gapps, and the IMEI Backup.
Boot ROM and using WiFi reinstall a terminal emulator.
Run the IMEI backup/restore tool and restore your IMEI backup.
Reboot.
This method has worked for me in the past. Hope it helps.

my p10 lite bricked [unbrick how-to]

<how-to unbrick>(TRY THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK)
this method is useful for was-lx2j,and "can boot stock rom" but "Almost apps not found".
1 )back to your stock recovery using
Code:
fastboot flash recovery RECOVERY.ing
2 )In huawei firmware finder, open the proxy server
3 )follow the proxy server's instraction
(POINT:USE THE LINK TO YOUR LAST STOCK FIRMWARE'S FULLOTA CHANGELOG)
exemple:my stock firmware's version before flashing custom rom and bricking is WAS-LX2JC635B175,so I choose it
Code:
Instructions.
1. Enter a link to the changelog of firmware in the "Firmware for install" field and click "Set".
2. Click the button "Register for update". Registration takes place by IP address.
3. After registration, you need to change your DNS address to 81.177.139.39. Dont forget save your original dns settings for restore it later. (You can change it in network settings, router settings or setup like proxy without port in hisuite).
4. Go to Huawei Updater in phone or go to HiSuite and press check update. After that you should get update.
5. After install dont forget to reset the dns settings to the original state.
4 )reboot your p10lite to huawei erecovery (or boot system)
5 )press "download ~"and update your system(or do a system update)
6 )go to stock recovery and do a factory reset
7 )DONE! reboot to system and phone will successfully booting!!!!!!
any questions, reply to this therd or PM me

edit:MY PHONE WAS FULLY UNBRICKED!!!
THX FOR ALL ADVICE!!!
my p10 lite (WAS-LX2J) was bricked...
1)I flashed a lineage unofficial build.
2)I flashed vendor as dd command from twrp shell.
3)I tested the rom
4)I wanted to back to stock rom,so I flashed system.img,cust.img,boot.img from stock firmware using huawei update extractor and fastboot.
5)I wanted to flash vendor but fastboot says command not allowed.
6)reboot to twrp and flash stock vendor as dd,but it fails(partition broken)
now,my p10 lite bricked...
Anyone has solution or twrp backup(system, cust, vendor, boot)???
any answer is welcome....
sorry for my bad english
Can you still get into TWRP? If you go into wipe, advanced, if you select something there you have the option to fix or repair that file system. I would be guessing if I knew what you needed to select though. Any risk is down to you.
Maybe that will fix your error? I have to sometimes do this to the 'data' file system to be able to boot lineageOS.
If you do manage to restore stock filmware successfully please share your steps on the p10 lite forum.

yes,I can get into twrp so I repaired filesystem.
I fixed filesystem:vendor and system.
I wiped all data

Find out from the OP on this thread if there is a Service firmware for your device. Hopefully you'll be able to fix your device with a service firmware.

2. copy the files to your adb or miniboot folder.
3.Open CMD and boor ur phone into TWRP and check once ur device is ready with fastboot devices command
4.Execute the Following commands
Code:
adb push modem.img /dev/block/mmcblk0p1
adb push fsg.img /dev/block/mmcblk0p16
