Free disk space - Coolpad Cool 1 - Coolpad Cool1 Questions & Answers

Hello, I have a question, how much disk space is available after first boot? Any possibility of freeing storage by deleting unnecessary apps?
An Is 3GB RAM enough on this phone?

I search for the device and it came with a series of posts, but no forum. When I created new thread, it got posted in this section. It probably should have gone to Android General.

I have need for speed installed and that's about it! I've 12 gb left and I was trying to install a apk for amazon market. I thought it was the apk that was faulty, so I downloaded a random app on the internet and it says that I need to delete stuff..
They don't install into your sd card, they install on your internal memory that's only about 5GB. Go to application settings and see if you can movie them to SD card.

dunno if they've changed it but normally theres a 2gb partition for apps and 12gb for storage. check if your 2gb partition is full. google recently changed things so that there is no longer a file size limit on what can be installed into the 2gb partition. so if one of the apps you've installed is particularly naughty, it couldve dumped a lot of data into the 2gb partition.
normally i find that shutting down and booting devices up again fixes the issue.
Ignore

well it seems that mine was shipped with android 4.1 and now it's updated to android 4.1 .1
I would suggest if you can, install Quick System Pro, and check your system storage total and free..
Ignore, I didn't see second page
Are they all from play store or another vendor/site? If latter, you need to allow third party apps in settings>Dev options

Swap partition

Hi,
I am using SDSL 4.0 .
It is really awesome Rom. Almost everyting working!
Thanks miro!
I herd about SWAP PARTITION . I don't know anyting about it.
Please tell me WHAT IS SWAP PARTITION ? HOW IT IS USEFUL? HOW CAN I USE IT?
Sent from my GT540 using xda app-developers app
swap partition is a partition (little part) on the SD card. its usually ~32-512 MB big.
swap is a little help for the RAM. big apps can be transferred to this partition if the RAM is full.
on gt540 ics/jb ROMs need swap to work properly, buzt on the other side it slows down the whole system especially with a slow SD card.
for gingerbread ROMs it's not needed but MAY improve your experience
How can i make swap partition ?
It is properly run on sdsl?
How can i transfered app to swap partition when Rom is full?
I also know more about this partition ?
Which type of partition should i make?and how?

I made a sticky thread in the dev forum about how to make one. I think i better clear somethings up, swap is used by the system to be (RAM) If you want more space to install apps then that is a totally different partition type.

[Q] Storge

Hey guys, I rooted and flashed a custom ROM and put a few of my pictures back on my phone(2.3GB) and now I have 1 GB left. (I have the 16GB version). I'm running the beanstalk ROM btw.
When I look in the / directory I see stroage, sdcard, stroage/emulated, stroge/sdcard0, stroage/emulated/legacy & storage/emulated/0
I'm assuming most of those are duplicates?
which ones can I delete?
Thanks!
Indian
Those paths are kinda like shortcuts.
Not sure about the free space problem, but I read before that the 16 GB version could sometimes be incorrectly detected as 8 GB.
Swyped from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4
Don't delete any of those!
If you check settings -> storage... What is the total? If your 16gb device shows as 8gb (will always show a little less due to system requirements) check out this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2033692
Also, how many nandroids do u have?

Those "duplicates" are emulated storage paths. They all access the /data/media/0 folder, which is the real path to your sd-card.
The 8GB nexus has 6GB of available user storage. With one nandroid, 2 GB of other stuff, apps, 2 GB of free space kind of adds up.

Strange... go to settings->More -> storage, and post the results here.
Normally leftover after ROM install is around 9GB in total (rest taken by ROM, pls remember that the phone occupied space is bigger than the ROM image size).
If you'll see that e.g. Applications are occupying too much and you did not installed anything - it will be the bloatware.
