AL00C00B167 cannot enable Google Location History - Huawei P10 Plus Questions & Answers

Hi All,
I just got my new P10 Plus and OTA to latest version VKY-AL00C00B167. But I cannot enable the Google Location History which means I cannot record my route in Google Maps Timeline or in Google Fit.
Everytime it will show: Error in Google Location. Location history is not available for this accout or device. In Google Maps it also said in bold, Locataion History is off.
I am wondering whether it is because of my model is from Mainland China AL00 so casued this issue? How to solve it? Only have to rebrand? Many thanks!!

same here
I have the exact same issue, also Huawei P10 from mainland China. If you manage to make it work, please let me know.

Eventually I found someone from Taobao and have it fixed remotely... Save more time and not expensive.

Has anyone found a more reproducible solution for this? Any idea what "someone from Taobao" actually did?

How did he do it? I want to make my location history work too.... very frustrating that it's not working. =(

Hey guys, I managed to get mine working but had no other choice but to rebrand. Let me give you some insight into what was happening.
My father in law gave me this phone from his trip to China, VKY-AL00. Its a Chinese branded device. Most apps had permission issues and I could not get location history to work. After 2 months of reading, I couldn't figure it out. So last resort, I went to funkyhuawei and did a rebrand to the European version. I chose Euro because of the dual sim capability. If I rebranded to Canada (Rogers) it would only be able to use 1 sim.
After rebranding. everything worked like it should have. All apps launch and specifically Location History.

[Q] Lots of things not working on my new DVP

So I got a new 16GB DVP from the US. I live in India. There are a few things that do not work on my phone, and I'm not sure if it has to do anything with living here, in India.
1. Newsroom - It quickly closes, as soon as I open it. Is it a subscription thing?
2. Maps - Nothing happens. When I click on the 'me' crosshair, it endlessly searches.
3. Find my phone - This doesn't work either. Is it a US-only feature.
hey mate.
all these services need an US based Live ID.
the newsroom app sounds like one of the Mobile service provider's customized app. they won't work at all coz they need ur subscription details.
I've DVP bought from the US n all the market place apps and wp7's native apps work fine.

Okay so I have a India-based Live ID, which is also a dev account. Is there a way to change it to the US? Is it a matter of just changing the location in my Live profile?

[Q] Chinese S5

Good afternoon,
I am writing because I have a bothering problem with my new Galaxy S5.
I bought it in China (this is where I live), and I didn’t consider the option of having so many differences between the version here and the one in the European market (I am from Italy). First of all, the choice of language is limited to Chinese, Korean and English, but this is not an issue at all. The biggest problem is the absence of any service provided by google, such as the play store; plus, the SamsungApp store allows me to download just apps in Chinese, or at least the 99% of them is like that. Therefore, to download basic apps such as Shazam, Wordreference, Wikipedia and so on I have to rely on alternative markets. Of course Facebook doesn’t work; the strange thing is that it doesn’t work with a VPN either, which happened on my old Galaxy Nexus… well, maybe this is just a temporary network problem.
Anyway, my question is: is there any way to format the device and re-install the OS “making it believe it is an Italian smartphone”? or at least European…
I inserted *#1234#, and what I received is as follows:
AP: G9006VZNU1AND1
CP: G9006VZNU1AND1
CSC: G9006VCHU1AND1
Thanks for your help!

Yeah, I honestly ignore why I haven't thought about the HK version before buying it...
Anyway right now I found a way to use the VPN, and a person I know in Italy told me there is the chance to format the phone and install the Italian OS... do you think it's possible?

Yeah, actually as I already said I don't really care about the language of the OS, as long as I can manage to download all the apps I need and use my device without the limitations that the Chinese version has!

You can install this app Phone INFO ★Samsung★
Go to menu --> 'CSC Changer' and see how many CSC in your phone. If it supports multi-CSC, you can change to another CSC if you are lucky.

Tried to, it won't work!
By clicking the link it makes me log in to google play, and the account I have is still linked to my old device, while I can't download it without logging in.
The result has been that I downloaded it from my S5 on my old Galaxy Nexus
Thanks, though!

[Q] Bought n9002 in China, Google play still won't work after rooting

Hi guys, so I bought a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 n9002 in China not long ago, and after returning to Australia recently I still cannot use Google play or any other Google system apps. The main problem I'm having is that I can't seem to log into my account in any Google apps, not even my chrome etc. It keeps saying there is an error connecting with Google servers.
I rooted my phone today by following steps from this very website, since I read that many people had the same problem as me, but after rooting their phone according following CA steps, they were then successful in installing all the Google Apps.
I guess I'm just confused as to why I can't seem to get my phone working when I did what others did.
Just wondering if anyone out there can maybe shed some light on what else I can do to get my Google services to work.
Thanks a lot!
Different rom?

Hm... maybe you're using China firmware and it is blocking Google? They don't like people being able to get unrestricted access to the world so I'd bet on them making sure Android doesn't allow it for China ROM's. You might have to work out how to flash open firmware, which could mean problems with PIT partitions so read up first.
Is the firmware you used a special edition which is blocking Google service?

Galaxy S7 Edge (Microsoft Office Apps) not working

Hi there,
This is my first threat here.
I just bought the S7 Edge yesterday and it came pre-loaded with Microsoft (Word, Excel, Power Point and OneNote)
I can not use them when ever I have tried to open them they ask for update and then it says (This app is not available for your device) error (2316:4002).
I have the same problem with my Note 5 ????
If it helps I live In Iraq and use an american Google account and my model number is (SM-G935F) the one with the Octa-Core Samsung in-house processor.
Please can you help me cause I need those app very much in my work.
Hi buddy I've just checked these apps and can confirm working here in the UK sm-g935f purchased direct from Samsung..
No idea if this helps ?
Regards Braggster
It could be your location try using fake GPS in the app store to see if it will allow you to update. Also, try clearing the cache on the apps this has happened to me and clearing the apps cache worked.
Try update from Samsung app store instead of Google Play, I had the same issue and fixed by update via Samsung app store.p
I didn't find the apps in the galaxy app store.
I also tried using fake GPS and clearing the cash
Still not working
I am having the same problem though my device doesn't have it preloaded. When I go to play store it simply says not compatible. I'm in the US and bought the G935f online.
My guess would be the software isn't authorized for your region, and can tell the region you're in based on the SIM you're using.

But I am using an AT&T US sim card.
How do I clear the cache?

as you mentioned living in Iraq.
If you think thr s problem with region then American Google Account is meaningless!
whatever u use an account that registered completely in USA But Google Play Service find ur location by using gps & internet & simcard so again limit to ur region.
u can delete all location history and always be on airplane mode and always connect to VPN
:good:

I am sorry for being a noob, but is there a work around? Because I am at place where I don't have WiFi facilities and also I won't be returning to my home network anytime soon.
No sorry. It's a known issue with no current work around that I know of.
