[Guide] How to recover lost IMEI on MI MAX 2 - Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Guides, News, & Discussion

Well, today I was playing with my phone trying to get Lineage OS to work, and I got a bootloop. Thankfully, I had a full backup of all the partitions of the phone, made with TWRP, and restored it. It failed to restore the FIRMWARE partition, and now I'm left without an IMEI or WiFi MAC plus my sim card is not detected.
NEVER RESTORE THE FIRMWARE PARTITION IN TWRP OR YOUR IMEI WILL BE LOST
To solve this you simply need to flash Xiaomi.eu rom from recovery or any other miui rom (you can do it via the fastboot method). I'll try and do a guide later, but I leave this here so that if anyone else faces this problem can have it solved.

Cool dude ?

You can't flash Xiaomi eu rom without unlocking the bootloader.

Easily. Send your phone to the shop where you bought it or send it to the neares service centre.

i was using it without make calls but it is boring because i have to use another phone to calls. and it's boring. i forgoten it in the bag and when i see battery has gone
recently until my mac adress on rr nougat change to another (i read that it's normal but i don't know)

hi, sorry my bad english too... I had 2 z6, one with this problem and another works normally, i get this when update from ota (not unlocked yet), in the middle of process of update my phone reboot and get a much time to appear the first screen, when finnaly shows my networks is gone. I made everything and i discovery something in my research. When they (Asus) release the first and official unlock method of bootloader, in the package comes the all softwares to access direcly and update the modem and backup the keys (from baseband). i made everything right in my 1st zf6 but my HD failed and i lost everything, and the method of unlocked has changed so i think the only solution is contact direcly Asus or buy a new board. I sent for repair directly in Asusbr and they said to buy a new board and simply trow me back without answer if is possible rewrite the baseband. :crying:
This method of repair modem exist ! but only for zf5 and i try and not work maybe for you work

if someone can help us :good::highfive:
Just flash stock rom and IMEI should be back, this also happened to me :good:
EDIT 1: If you happen to get a way to change your IMEI, you can find this at your Zenfone 5 Box!

One time I installed a custom rom which deleted my IMEI. So all I did was to flash a zip from another custom rom that I know worked from TWRP and it got back.
If you want an alternative to installing another rom, find your IMEI from the zenfone 5 box ( if you still have it) and paste it on an IMEI changer app <--- look for it on play store. But I don't have any ideia if this method will work as I have never tried it.

Hey, take a look at this guide here. Helped me in the past:

Hi, I think you can find your phone's IMEI in the back of your phone or in the box when you buy phone, it's the easiest way to find your phone's IMEI. If not, you can find it at your phone's settings.

Dude, first of all I think you replied to the wrong message. Secondly, you need to give more details so you can get proper help. What do you mean by the "tryed this method but not work"? What steps did you follow?
I was able to re-write my IMEI using this method:

I have a A2017U
Not sure why the site removes the g-i-z-d-e-v- domain from the link

Yeah, for real, I completely flipped when Xiaomi put a bootloader wait period on one of my devices. I caused as much a fuss as I could, emailed Xiaomi's support in several regions and researched extensively.
There's literally nothing you can do. Xiaomi has complete control over bootloader unlock authorization. As far as I'm aware there's no exploits and even staff at Xiaomi can't/won't override it.
Rest assured when that timer hits 0 you're good to go. Though for now, use the device as normal or switch it off and place it in a drawer for a couple of weeks if it bugs you too much. Just whatever you do, don't reflash it or attempt to change the account on the device; the timer will reset.
Once it's unlocked, avoid relocking it. There's no advantage to relocking the device when flashing images, it won't do a thing.
If you use MiFlash tool, it's worthwhile deleting the scripts suffixed with "lock" in the update folder when doing a fastboot flash from a PC (flash_all_lock.bat and flash_all_lock.sh, you don't want to go near flash_factory.sh/bat either - I'm confused as to why Xiaomi even includes that file in their update zips).
Always use flash_all.bat / flash_all.sh. Bonus tip: edit both files with notepad and remove the line which restarts the device (fastboot reboot is the line if I remember correctly). This way you can skip booting into MIUI and immediately push a custom recovery using fastboot boot C:/path/recovery.img (or fastboot flash recovery recovery.img, boot is temporary).
Ps. Be sure to overwrite that "device unlocked" boot image if you're feeling meticulous.
actually you can bypass it but the solution is not free and very xpensive
My friend has redmi note 5 and for unlock waiting I read somewhere that if you use some old version of Mi tool it would skip the waiting and it did. Is there similar solution for redmi note 7?

POCO F2 PRO - Xiaomi application Dialer/Message/Contacts without root :)

Hello!
Maybe some do not know, but you can have Xiaomi applications (recording conversations and all the rest) without rooting the device (Magisk).
All you need to do is unlock the bootloader and use the Fastboot (MiFlash) method to install the MIUI 12 Indonesian versions. That'S all. We have now a stock system with Xiaomi apps )

POCO M3 repair.

All POCO M3 faults are only software and not hardware, but mostly user errors when updating, when they are impatient, no motherboard heating is needed, we only destroy it, but I don't even have to buy and waste money on expensive repairs, I had a phone incorrect installation of the system in bootlope, I had to open it, short the two EDL points to get to EDL mode and install via Flash tool using POCO M3 Engineering ROM.
I fixed two phones right away.
