HELP PLEASE: Wired Headset - Volume UP/Down Keys Does Not Work As Next/Previous Track - Galaxy S 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Guys,
I am using ([ROM][6.0.1_r74][klte+variants][NOV-21]RESURRECTION REMIX MM V5.7.4) in my Samsung Galaxy S5 G900i since today.
I am having one issue with this ROM that is while listening to music through my Samsung three button wired headset, volume controls buttons (UP & Down) when long press should act as to change to next track and go to previous track but they don't not work. When I long press them it just increase or decrease volume. But the third button which acts as Pause and play function works perfectly fine.
I have used the same headset in Galaxy S4 which worked perfectly fine.
Could someone please help me to fix this issue. I know there are apps for it but I prefer the direct working function like I used in Samsung Galaxy S4.
Hope to hear from you shortly.
Thanks in advance.

compatablity issue with Bose mie2

Hi
I just got a Bose MIE2 headset. Sound is soft and buttons don't work (just makes the sound a bit louder). I installed the Voodoo control + app. This solved the volume issue but obvioulsy not the button problem. I thought this headset was compatible with the Galaxy S?
Any solutions for this?
Thanks Steven
there are two model, mie2 and mie2i, the one come with volume+/- suppose to work with apple ipod/iphone only, the general one don't have the volume+/- button
I have the regular mie2. Just one button to take calls and start/end songs. Button does nothing though.
then may be not compatible with i9000. I just try 2 similar headset on i9000, both cannot control play/stop, but working with Milestone.
Confirming compatibility issue with Bose MIE2. Normally plays very silent, but while holding key on headset - normally.
(stock f/w @2.3.3)

Stock headset works ok playing music while headset button is pressed

As the topic says it plays normally with bass and all while I hold the headset button down due to swapped mic/ground placement (hardware).
That's what I've been mentioning multiple times now and I don't know when they will fix it. There must be a way, I want to use my V-moda Remix Remote.

Is there a easy way to improve MP3 experience?

I am just using the default Samsung music app, so maybe a simple player switch will suffice...
I am coming from a iPhone 5. One thing the iPhone does very well is play music. There are a copy of issues with my S4 in this regard that are driving me crazy, I am hoping you guys can help me resolve them:
1. Volume rocker on headphones does not control music volume. As far as I can tell the volume rocker just doesnt do anything at all. Is there a way to make this control music / voice levels? Very annoying having to fish for the phone to actually move the volume rocker.
2. Previous doesnt work. On the iPhone you can triple click the button on the headset to either restart the current song or go back to the previous song that was playing before. I used this quite often as i sometimes like to Binge on a particular soundtrack. This does not seem to work currently, triple pressing the button simply goes to the next song (double tap) and then pauses (single tap).
Loving the S4 so far, I definitely hope the above is something that is possible to fix though. Thanks a lot guys!
Try google play music? The volume thing worked on my s3 however I've yet to test ion s4... Also i use poweramp
sgh-i747(d2att)(sgs3) on latest cm10.1 or ultimatum
my headphones work on the s4 so far... volume and pause/skip tracks also works. single tap button to pause, double tap to skip etc. maybe u got a faulty headset?
Yeah sounds like a faulty headset...mine works

Or push it further in maybe? It seems to be hard at first to press in the headphone all the way... loosen up over time
Questions go in Q&A

[Q] Headphone with control buttons not working.

Hey all,
I got another question that might be interesting to ask.
So today i got my denon urban raver ah-d401 which has some controlls to pause play answer calls, change volume and all that but it doesnt work.
Only thing that works is the "menu" button to pause and play music. is it possible to make tha volume controlles work ? Its actually made for iDevices but there must be a solution for this?

Nougat - Physical button music controls

Hi! Is skipping music tracks with the volume button available in Nougat?
While I love the idea of trying out Nougat on my S7 Edge, the one feature that I CANNOT live without is the Physical Button Music Control - ie skip music tracks with a long press of the volume button (why oh why, Samsung, in 2017 is this not a default feature? It forces me to have to take my phone out of my pocket every time I want to skip a track. Not cool...but that's a topic for another day).
To achieve this in Marshmallow (6.0.1), I use the Physical Button Music Control module for the Xposed framework. This works flawlessly.
Here's my question - is this function available in Nougat? I know Xposed probably isn't and maybe won't be for a long time. If so, and if there's no native functionality to do this, then I'll stay on 6.0.1 for now. I've tried 3rd party apps on from the Play store and none seem to work as well as the Xposed one.
I've been using this feature since my S2 custom rom days. I still can't believe it's not a standard feature. Yes, there are physical buttons on the included headphones, but they're no match for my Grados, so don't even offer a different headphone as a solution to this!
Thanks in advance!!
i miss this too.i have learned that, when using the headphone, if i double press the play/pause button, it skips to next track...
its no a full control, but it is something =D
That's great that you've got that work around. But I don't use headphones that have inline controls. I find it hard to believe that people just accept that they have to take their phone out and skip tracks that way if they don't have inline controls.
I wonder what the percentage is for people who operate this way?
The long volume press is such an elegant solution to skipping tracks. I'm surprised it isn't a standard adopted by Google in general. Maybe I'm missing something. If you're a person who doesn't have an inline remote, please tell me how you cope.
