Tab S2 SM-T715Y Nougat is out for those with the Y version - Galaxy Tab S2 General

The firmware update for the Galaxy tab s2 SM-T715Y is now out. If after attempting to download via OTA does not work, Go over to sammobile for the download or use Smartswitch to download the update. I used smartswitch with the steps below:
1. Download the Smartswitch software to your PC
2. Connect your tab to the pc. The smartswitch software should indicate that an update is available
3. Download the update. Mine was 1500MB in size
Cheers!

Unable to upgrade firmware

I own a rooted Galaxy S4.
I would like to upgrade firmware using:
Settings -> General -> Device Info -> Software upgrades -> Update.
After resetting flash counter and using Triangle Away workaround to make the phone able to download latest firmware from Samsung's server, I'm able to start the upgrade procedure.
Firmware is downloaded, I chose to upgrade frmware and reboot the phone, but then nothing happens, no firmware upgrade is installed.
Is there a solution?
TIA
If u rooted ur phone u dont gona be able to install OTA updates how u are trying it. But u can:
1. This update will be a .zip file. You need flash this file by STOCK RECOVERY
or
2. Conect to Kies (android 4.2.2) or Kies 3 (android 4.3) and update it for there :highfive:

Thank you for your answer.
Do you mean that I'm unable to use OTA upgrade also using Triangle Away workarounds?
There is a specific workaround used to make the phone able to connect to Samsung servers and download firmware upgrades: Triangle Away disables Superuser for a few minutes so you can use OTA upgrade function.
Kies behavior is the same: it downloads the firmware, but then the upgrade isn't applied.
Before install firmware upgrade by stock recovery or Odin, I would like to discover if there is a way to upgrade it by Kies or OTA.

Try step 1
* EDIT: Select the last option in recovery
or
Put the .zip file to your external SD Card. Use 2nd option and install it
* EDIT 2: I have rooted phone too but I always update my phone with Kies 3. I dunno what will be ur problem that it doesnt install updates

I use Kies (not Kies 3) because of my phone has still Android 4.2 installed (kies 3 AFAIK works with Android 4.3).

Rooting a verizon galaxy s5

So i just received a new galaxy s5 and I would like to root if possible. I've seached and it all seems a little confusing. Its an s5 running 6.0.1. Please point me in the right direction if there is a safe rooting method that will still work. I can provide any other information as well. Thank you for your support!
Make a backup in using Samsung smartswitch or Samsung kies 3
Download odin off the Internet
Go to Samsung website and download USB drivers for s5 verizon
Go to Sammobile. Com and download ok3 or pb1 firmware
Boot phone into download mode
Connect phone to pc by USB cable
Open odin in Odin click ap/pda and choose the firmware you downloaded from sammobile. Com and click start
Then wait for your phone to boot if it gets stuck longer than ten minutes boot into recovery and wipe data and cache and reboot
Set up phone once it boots
To get root go to JrKruse ok3 root method on xda under s5 Verizon section

Method of installing the Official Android 8.0 on your S7 Edge/S7 (SM-G935F/SM-G930F)

To install it, simply download the firmware file from the official Samsung firmware section link that is given below and then use this new version of Odin that you can download from XDA.
Here are the link:
Oreo Firmware for S7 Edge (SM-G935F):*
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/...U2ERD5/217550/
Oreo Firmware for S7 (SM-G930F):
https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/...U2ERD5/217727/
Odin Version 3.13.1:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...o-fws-t3755957
Download the firmware as based on the model number of your device (i.e. SM-G935F / SM-G930F) and download the odin file.
Turn on your device in download mode and then connect to your PC. Run the Odin and select the based on the sections given in it (i.e. BL, AP, CP and HomeCSC).
After selecting these files click on the start button and let it complete. After completion your device will restart several time and you are done with installing the Official Oreo on your device that won't trigger the knox.
Enjoy!

Yes you have to flash the HomeCSC because that's what I did. Or else you to wait until Samsung release Oreo for your country.
