An interest in Flashing for changing CSC ? - Samsung Galaxy S8 Questions and Answers

Hi,
As a new owner of an S8 Dual Sim, i am asking in the interest of chaging the CSC. I am in France, with "FREE" as phone provider. No problem at this time.
Current phone CSC ( XME ), switching to XEF does me anything better than that i have ? ( For 4G, futur update, better france connexion etc... ? )
XEF Firmware : http://tinyurl.com/y8vbd43p

Trying to reformulate :
Is there any interest in flashing my Galasy S8 currently with "XME" CSC ( MALAYSIA) to my country ( FRANCE ) CSC ( "XEF" ) ?
Is't better for compatibility, update, or doesn't care ?

Switch to XEF to match your phone to your region.
For some carriers region miss matched csc has little to no impact but for some carriers you can run into issues , for example volte and vowifi (or other special features) you need the region's or if available the carrier's csc (for me volte on bouygues would not work until i flashed the correct csc).

as i am full stock, i can flash firmware simply with odin ? this will erase all the phone right ?

You will need the full UK ROM from Sammobiles or checkfus.
This may give you the Korean CSC, if it does you will need to download the CSC changer for SGS/2/3 from the market and select BTU, this will wipe your data though.

The Turkish ROM contains the CSC for Turkey only I believe, you need to flash the latest ICS from Sammobiles or checkfus and flash through Odin, then change the CSC.
Btw the English ROM is BTU
and another Btw, we haven't got JB for unbranded devices in UK yet, only O2 and Three carrier branded.
when i type *#1234#
i get these
AP : I9300XXBLH1
CP : I9300XXLH1
CSC : I9300ATOBLH1
so which country is my phone right now ?
I don't know the sales code but if you Google Samsung sales code ATO you will be able to find out.
But because you bought it front Turkey there's a 99% chance ATO is Turkey. If you want the English firmware you needs BTU then change the CSC to BTU (English firmware has a few CSCs included)

CSC is not an upgrade path .
Unless you have the full correct HIDSWVER codes phone will not update .
Solution download stock firmware and flash via \ODIN .
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1646610
or use CHECKFUS to download any firmware and flash via ODIN .

[Q] Change CSC for Note 4 without root

Hi guys,
I would know, if it would be possible, when you flash a multiple csc firmware, if something exists like this for galaxy note 4 :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2208627
For exemple, I want to have a french XEF CSC code.
Roms with french CSC code in sammobile firmware are only multiple CSC's roms, and I can't switch CSC without rooting my phone.
Due to knox, I don't want to root my phone yet. So, if something exists to switch my "MET" CSC code to "XEF", I shall thank you.
Thank you!

Your in luck first make sure your phone is running this MET firmware, if it isn't then you'll need to install it before proceeding
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/37365/N910FXXU1ANJ4_N910FOXX1ANI6_MET.zip/
Assuming it is next step is to install this XEF (using Odin) as it uses the same PDA and MODEM files as the MET one so we won't have any problems later:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/36930/N910FXXU1ANJ4_N910FOXX1ANI6_XEF.zip
Okay now your phone will have dual CSC codes. Check it with this :
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo&hl=en
Last step is to factory reset your phone, this will remove the MET CSC code and leave you with just XEF and you'll be able to receive OTA updates.
http://www.sammobile.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24346
I'm sorry, it doesn't work.
I just flashed MET version, after, I flashed XEF version
When I check into Phone info application, my CSC is already MET and not MET/XEF.
Another idea? Thx

Best (least limited) stock Lollipop firmwares for SM-N9005

Since my Note 3 is rooted I've been applying updates via Odin. Few last firmwares (for SEB and BTU regions) I flashed were somewhat limited - for example, there was no option to disable camera shutter sound. Originally the note came with XSI which seemed OK, but the only and newest stock firmware for XSI is of dec 2015. So my question is - what region firmware should I choose to get somewhat up to date Lollipop with no silly limitations like the option to disable camera shutter sound being removed and such?
Put your model number in sammobile.cm it will show firmware .
EG BTU last issue is 02.12.15

I am doing that, but the firmware date does not tell me if there are specific region restrictions in that firmware.
Never seen any pointer to region restrictions .
Apart from the obvious CSC and Modem may be region specific .
BTU = UK etc .

HELP Me : Very low LTE signal

Hello Everyone,
Here are the details so you can have some ideas.
Country: Canada
Carrier: Telus
ROM: Superman 2.8.0
Since I have rooted and switched to Superman rom 2.8.0, I am having an issue with LTE signals only. 3G works fine.
I also tried to change the roms but the same issue.
Is it issue with csc ?
Do I need to flash csc of Canada ( "XAC","Canada Multi-CSC (W8-Variant) contains: BMC, BWA, ESK, FMC, GLW, KDO, MTA, RWC, TLS, VMC, VTR, XAC") ?
But there is no csc with that rom.
and which csc i have to choose? ( i dont know if there are modified csc outh there or not?
Suggest me answer...
Thank you.
did u update modem? for me it works very good.
Yes i did...
I found, there is no canadian csc (XAC) with the rom i am using.
So i will flash csc manually.
And thanks for the reply.
flash rom
flash kernal(if wanted)
flash csc(recommend xac unbranded)

Sorry, I forgot to inform that issue has been resolved two days ago.
Solution:
Flash with my matched CSC.

Samsung built in CSC changer for OXM Multi CSC Firmware (Need to be on One UI 2.5)

Good news for the people who wants to change CSC according to their home country.
Now, you can easily change your CSC no matter from which region you had bought your phone.
***No Root Needed***
Follow this steps to change CSC:
1. First insert the Sim of your desired CSC country.
2. Then after restarting just factory reset your phone.
3. Now the phone will boot up with welcome Screen.
4. After few seconds it will ask you whether you want to change the phone settings and region according to your Sim Card providers country.
5. Boom!!! now, phone will reset again and welcome screen will appear again. Now, you will have the same CSC and configuration according to your own country.
N.B: It works only for OXM Multi CSC based Firmware after One UI 2.5 update. So, every device with OXM MULTI CSC & One UI 2.5 update will be eligible.
Will it also change the SW-service provider, like from Vodafone to a unlocked sw-version?

If you are trying to change the CSC first ensure your firmware is based on OXM Multi CSC and your desired CSC is part of the OXM CSC family. Otherwise it won't work. And for checking correct CSC after following this procedure use *Phoone Info Sam** app from playstore

I have the OXM multi CSC. I will try that later.
Im trying to get back to ZTO since I changed my phone's to DBT.
For people who can't switch between csc in the same mult csc pack. OXM multi csc pack contains all the european generic and network branded firmware (csc) so if You are at SFR (part of OXM multi pack), and flash it with BTU (part of OXM multi pack) the SFR will stay. What you need to do is to flash it with different multi csc pack (just see what packs are available for your model), then flash it back with OXM multi pack, and it should switch to some generic csc, then if you instert your sim card it should ask you if you want to customize your phone to the inserted sim card and it will change your csc to the one you want.

Hi sivuha0101,
So if i undestand your solution, as i am from FRANCE ( XEF )
1- flash with a NZC firmware like it doesn'nt contain neither XEF or TIM ( mine actually )
like : SM-G986B_1_20210501192706_0r7rhuu316_fac.zip.enc4
( do i need to flash all ? ie AP,CSC,CP and BL ? )
reboot, fast install etc....
then
2 - flash again with my XEF rom :
SM-G986B_1_20210517170737_0n0cb625x6_fac.zip.enc4
and insert my sim card to detect my correct CSC code .
I am right ? thanks for this information btw !
EDIT :
tried, the flash failed with the NZC firmware ( the phone is good ) but now i don't know what rom to flash
Answering my self :
1/ buy Samkey credits on ebay user ( 5$ )
2/ Use one credit in Samkey software to change the CSC ( less than 2 min )
3/ Enjoy your phone !
