LTE works but it hard to connect to calls (T-Mobile/NoteFE) - Samsung Galaxy Note FE Questions & Answers

The internet (4GLTE) works great but to make calls in front of people is hard to connect. Can someone help me with this problem?

When I make a call it takes awhile before it rings. Then it switches from 4G LTE to Edge then back to 4G LTE once the call is done.

What you can do is flash an S7 edge CSC adapted to Exynos and flash it. Like in my case worked perfectly.

Do you happen to have the zip file still? The link in that thread for the ported CSC doesn't have any available mirrors.

Maybe is because is not compatible....can't be a Snapdragon CSC, and must be compatible to the exyno

Same here 935K on T-Mobile, flashed CSC and gets stuck in a bootloop.

I have the same version too(k) so what you have to do is: go to this website https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-7/development/utility-flashable-csc-selection-v1-0-t3450911
And download the second zip Wich are portable zips for Exynos, after you download it, flash it through TWRP

I wrote this out in a different thread. Hopefully it works for you.
You can flash a ported snapdragon to Exynos CSC to your phone once you are rooted.
The zip you need is CSCSelection_N7_Ported_V1.2.zip and you can download it from this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-7/development/utility-flashable-csc-selection-v1-0-t3450911
I flashed the T-mobile one and it works for me. I was only getting 4mb down and now I'm getting 40mb down and I'm in Phoenix.
Your speed also depends on the band you are on and congestion on that tower.
I hope this helps you out, because this phone is awesome!

I did get it. Thx, I had to 1st Odin flash the 935S firmware, phone is the 935k, with the K firmware I had LTE with TMO but would drop to 3g for calls. So I flashed the L firmware and than TWRP, but with the L aand flashing the CSC tweak, it would just bootloop. Finally I flashed the S firmware followed by TWRP, Magisk, and CSC tweak. Now I'm all good. Also debloated with titanium and changed boot ani and shut down to the International Note 7's. Absolutely perfect now.

Could you help with the steps to do this. I'm on t mobile and hate using my note fe on 3g. Would be awesome to finally have it work correctly. Any help is greatly appreciated. I've flashed with Odin back in the day . Never flashed with TWRP.

Flash the S or K odin, than flash twrp, than flash the csc tweak zip file a few post up. Simple.

Couple of options come to mind... You can flash this stock 4.2.2, but you'll have to root it again afterwards (and install a custom recovery, if you want). Otherwise, you can go with MicroDelta by @Tsjoklat -- it's a very nice ROM, and the latest version of it is built on this exact base. It will be a full wipe in both scenarios, though.

If you flash this package via Odin, it will wipe everything -- you don't have to do it manually. It will also revert the recovery back to stock, if you have a custom one installed now.
Make sure you read carefully how to use Odin, if you haven't used it before -- there are ways to screw up your device pretty badly.

Which file? The actual Odin-flashable package linked in the OP? I don't know... It's in TAR format, but the extension is *.tar.md5, so your OS may not recognize it. But you don't need to unzip it -- Odin will process this file as is. It's a good idea to verify the MD5 checksum (it's on the download page) before flashing, to make sure your download is not corrupt.

ok so i downloaded the file and opened it .rar archiver to check the file and has a .tar.md5 file and .dll file.
ODIN wont recognize a .zip though and i get a file is invalid.

Hi guys, I just thought I would make a reference guide of sorts for all of the 925W8 (Canadian) users because there seems to be a bit of confusion about some things, listed below are working roms, kernels, recovery and the proper xposed frameworks.
First and foremost this is in no way any of my OWN work, everything listed here is respectably reference only and any and all credit belong to the respective thread owners!
Second I wanted to share a little side note about our device, it is in similarity to the T-Mobile variant, from what I have gathered so far is that any custom roms from the T-mobile sections and s6/s6 edge universal sections are all compatible with our device provided we also flash a modified kernel afterwards. (suggested kernel with T/W8 call fix listed below.)
Third if anyone wants to add anything feel free to PM me, there are other W8 threads but I thought I would open one based off of my own personal experiences and current up to date methods.

Honestly with xtrestolite I have been using stock because I've had a busy work week so I haven't been able to test. I never usually use custom kernels unless required (mainly callfix) but plan on checking them out for OC/UV!
I know I said I was updating this yesterday and didn't get around to it so I shall update a few things here and there today throughout the weekend (sorry guys, for whom has been following), I plan on including apps and mods that are universal for all our (listed) ROMs. [MAINLY 6.0+] (I'll also be dabbling in a few other forums to dig up some more useful information.)
I have used custom kernels with the OZOP rom and CRISSCROSS rom with no troubles, ran very smooth! (sorry for somewhat dodging your question until the end heh)

Not silly at all. I had no sim in. Should I put my T-Mobile SIM in and try again?

I flashed with the T-Mobile SIM in. Still no dice. I'm putting in the AP,BL,CP, and CSC only correct? Which CSC BTW? CSC_OYN or HOME_CSC_OYN? What about the user data file?

It's happened to me too. What utility can unpack TAR.MD5 files so I/we can get at the the CSC and MODEM files? Perhaps 7Zip for Windows? Is there a good Linux utility?

Thanks, for your reply. The idea is to extract the CSC and MODEM files to use with other ROMs. I found a utility called Odinatrix, which can unpack the old stock ROMs which other programs such as 7Zip couldn't deal with. It worked first time and has helped re-animate an old mobile, which has been lying (almost) bricked for a year or more.

Yes, Odin is fine for flashing but only after you've got your ROM sorted out.
Because Custom ROMs either include no modem software or include modem software for other countries then I often have to find modem and CSC info from other sources (such as Stock ROMs). Hence the need to unpack old TAR.MD5 files for Stock ROMs before using Odin/Heinmdall/JOdin to flash. Sometimes the ROMs have been so old that 7.zip et al won't touch them - hence it was very pleasing that Odinatrix did actually work.

Can you tell the error you are getting? And did you enable oem unlocking before trying to root?

Also try changing the cable. I know it sounds dumb but sometimes this is the case. (Happened to me once)

sorry for being like this but what is bp and cp
No worries. When you open the file from sammobile. The would be 5 files inside. BP, AP, CP, CSC and Home CSC. read the names of the files. Put the BP file in BP section of odin and CP file in CP section. Then hit start.

tried didn work and on screen i see sw rev. check fail (bootloader) device :6, binary 5
It means the version you are trying to flash is older than then the one which was installed.
Are you installing the one in the screenshot? Try this one if not.

Send me the picture of the one you are trying to flash.

finally my phone is back on thank you. now can you guide me please which is the easiest root way widout messing things up
Just hit the thumbs up button. It would be appreciated. First install latest twrp. Then install a custom rom of your choice. I would recommend BlackDiamond V3( This is Android pie). To root use magisk 19.1 if you are on a Android Pie based rom or magisk 18.1 if you choose a android oreo based rom.
