I used samsung fast charger for 4 months and battery life was all good , then i lost the charger so i had to charge the phone with a "not so fast charger" that took ages to charge my phone.
Never charged to 80% , and battery drain was serious.
That's when i got worried that the charger ive been using might have destroyed my battery.
So bought the "turbopower 15" charger for my MXP and at first it heated up my battery more then 60* (serious overheating issue)
After 2 or 3 charges i figured it only heats up after the percentage is 50% or higher or when i use it while charging.
And now it drain my battery like crazy!,
I just restarted my device into recovery right now and it was 45% but by the time i booted up to recovery it said 25%. How CRAZY DRAINAGE IS THAT??, Please devs help me.
Its like i dont need a stopwatch my battery drain a percent per second.
Im using purenexus 7.1.2 by @GtrCraft witb stock kernal

I was just using stock rom but the battery drain was still the same. I dunno if ive messed up the battery because of the "not orignal" chargers or whatever the reason is. I think the battery is now done for. I think Im just gonna sell this phone

Just buy a new battery from ebay, replace it urself. It's easy..

I use tronsmart 3.0 turbo charger (backward capability for quick charge 2.0 devices). Battery life is good. I charge it when it hits 15-30%.

How long does your G1 last with 2% battery?

I've been slowly draining my G1 since yesterday, with wifi on and auto-check email every 10 minutes. It lasted almost 24hrs before 2%.
I noticed it slowly went to 2% around 12pm today and at around 5:30pm, it finally shutdown. That's almost 6 hours using the last 2% of battery. I did check battery status a few times and also checked websites/market for a few minutes during the last 2%.
Is this odd? Should I wipe my battery stats? It doesn't seem calibrated to me.
Does it happen often that it hangs at 2%, if so wipe the stats and drain and shut off and recharge. Could just be the new battery breaking in.

When you wipe stats you should let the battery die out then fully charge to 100. You should be happy you get so much time out of 2% though
Actually this has happened to me, it seems that once the phone enters the 5% range, it lasts just as long as everything else put together.
i wish i were that lucky to claim any of these things. My phone under very very moderate usage lasts about 2-3 hours from fully charged. It has been like this for a while and the ROM i'm running now is just making it worse. if i dont touch and send a couple texts messages it'll last up to 4 hours but that's it. I'm going to reset the stats and see if that corrects it before i go and buy a new battery.

Which is weird because using the stock battery I can get 12+ hours with moderate usage, this includes browser and wireless tethering.
I've been recharging it for a few hours now. The phone is off. It'll charge for another 10 hours before I turn it on.
Should I have wiped battery stats before I started charging? Or can I just wipe it before I boot up Android?

I guess wiping them at full power wont hurt, but then you must then let it fully die again and recharge it fully.
I just unplugged it from the charger. Booted into recovery, wiped battery stats, then rebooted. It now says it's at 87%. Somehow it took 13% to do those 2 things.
Hrmm, your battery life shouldn't be that bad, custom rom or not. Did you overcharge your battery? That seems to be a common cause for poor battery life.

How do you overcharge it? Shouldn't it stop when it think it's full?
This morning I used 'battery info' in the settings area and it only said the voltage was 4.05v or something and at 91%. This was for at least 9hrs with phone off and using HTC usb charger. I plugged it back in, while the phone was on, and it charged to 'full' in 10 minutes.
I'm recharging with phone on now tonight. I'm also currently using my motorola razr usb charger. It seems to charge faster than the HTC usb charger. It's voltage is now 4.15v and 61% now.

How do you overcharge a battery? If you mean leaving it plugged in long after it's fully charged, that is such a common thing to do it seems like lots of people would have battery problems. Almost everyone I know plugs their phone in before bed, and unplugs it in the morning. Most phones are fully charged in under 4 hours, so that leaves roughly 4-5 hours of being plugged while already fully charged every single day.
Well I'm basing that claim off of a t-mobile rep (hahah reliable isnt it?) who told me that overcharging the battery, or keeping it plugged for the majority of the day (which is what i tended to do) could harm the battery, causing it to give off false percentages or making it unable to hold a charge.
And also, from personal experience, my battery did begin to bulge outwards, and would not hold a charge for more than 4 hours. So I just assumed it was because I had a tendency to plug my g1 in when it wasn't necessary, and keep it charging. So perhaps my previous claim wasn't so well supported. I just based it off of my experience and what the reps told me.

lol haha that sucks
since i download a font pack, keyboard skin and better keyboard once my battery hits 10% it usually dies within 5-7 minutes if i have swift running in the background
but before the most recent updates my battery would last about a hour or more with just swift updating in the background and the music player on pause

[Q] Battery charging time

Hello guys ! how much does it take to charge Note4 ? I plugged my device when it was 18% and only one hour needed for full charge (no fast charging) and it drains very fast, device is not rooted, charger is original
it takes about one and half hours to charge through the original charger with out fast charge if the device isn't in use
and it around 2 hrs to charge if it is in use

Battery life is terrible at normal usage, unplugged this morning and dropped from 100 to 75 in hour at standby, what the hell is wrong with this thing
your battery must be deffective, I got 10-11% overnight when out of the box, after rooting, and cuatomizing, my batt consumes 4 to 5 % overnight in standby, wifi off data off in about 6 to 7 hours, using greenify, amplify , controlling autostarts, and removing bloat, I mention overnight, because in the day Its highly variable how I use it, if your batt last a few hours in standby, take it to your OFFICIAL vendor/carrier to claim warranty, I did it once, with a Nokia N95, and got a New one, luck man?

Is this the end of my battery?

I've got an issue with my battery where phone shuts down every time at 30% and won't charge above 80% unless I disconnect and reconnect charger then charges rapidly to 100%
I've heard LiPo batteries are easily damaged and have a short life span. In my case it has came to 0% numerous times. I tried calibrating it and still nothing
Here is some info on the battery.
Are those mA measurement's okay or bad?
These measurements are totally normal
It's probably your rom mate

Sounds like you need to return it under warranty.
Well I tried many different ROMs and stock firmwares still no luck. I've called service center and they will fix it. I think Li-Ion batteries are far better then Li-Poly
Had that issues on my previous device, Galaxy S4. Shutdowns at ~20% battery, terrible sot. My battery went bad so i replaced it with new battery and that solved it.
Consider replacing battery if flashing stock firmware does not help.
Batteries can last long if you take care of it. I guess you tortured it by draining it all the way to 0% or using the phone while its connected on charger, you should NEVER do that! 20% in my opinion is minimum before you should charge it to prolong battery life. Also if you really want very long battery life, do not charge it above 90%.

Weird charging issue with Moto G5 Plus

Peace be upon you Brothers
For the past couple of days, I've been facing this weird charging issue with my Moto G5 Plus. When I plug the charger in - the phone says it's charging, but the battery percentage remains the same for hours. After 2-3 hours of charging this way, if I unplug the charger and replug it, within a couple of seconds the battery capacity suddenly shoots up to 100%. I have the original Motorola charger, a Nokia/Microsoft charger, and a battery pack that I've tried with same results. Any advice?

I don't have much to offer, but is it rooted? If it is, you can try a battery calibration app to try to recalibrate the battery, although I doubt that would help. It seems like it's charging fine but the system isn't registering the battery life until you unplug the phone and it forces the system to check the battery life (in case it's at 0-1% and has to shut down.)
In any case, if it's rooted, it's worth a try.

Now i am calibrating the battery in hope if it resolves charging issue. I connect the switched off phone when it shuts itself down at 0 % to the charger, it shoots upto 70 % sometimes 60, other times it shows 80 %. The number gradually decreases to 2 % during the charging. After 2 to 3 hours when i switch on the phone it shows a charged battery upto 70 to 80 %. And give me a wonderfully remarkable stand by time as i assumed that the custom ROM. It discharges normally. I cannot understand the nature of it cause i like to use my phone when it is 100 % charged and use it untill it reaches 15 %.

It seems the battery is good and, it just need the battery calibration.as it is giving a long life. But you should not fully charge the battery as lithium ion battery is capable of full charge,so you should charge it upto 80%-90%.

Same here. Battery quickly drains to 96% after unplugging from the charger. Takes half an hour max without using at all. After that normal drain.

May be new update is buggy ?
Since the last release I decided to stick with Nova Prime and no Google Companion. Before I was on stock launcher and turned off shelf. Charged to 100% and over night battery drained to 99%.Right now I am at 77% with 2 hrs of screen time and been unplugged for 16 hrs.
I would think that shelf or Google Discover is a battery drain for sure.

I don't think so. It's happening on custom ROMs as well. For me it started from one day on another. Weird thing but I think that's the ACTUAL capacity of the battery. You'll actually never have 100% battery when unplugging from the charger after some longer charging. It just shows you that.

I noticed as well. I think its because of my extended use of fast charging as isn't good for the battery. But I thought that the heat was going to the charger and you should use the charger that comes in the box.
However, from extended use of my 6T and my previous phone the OnePlus 3. Dash charging affects the battery even though heat doesn't go to the phone, it affects the battery health. And you shouldn't use it especially if you want to keep the phone for 2+ years. I've been using my 6T since December and my battery health is around 70%?! I only been using dash charge as well for both of my 6T and OP3. The reason I upgraded was because of the degraded battery in my OP3. From this, I'm gonna send my 6T back to OnePlus for a battery replacement, so that I get a brand new battery and from now on I'm never gonna use dash charge and instead gonna use quick charge 2.0 chargers as I don't have a apple 5V charger. But this should still be better for long term, even if it is a form of fast charging. All Samsung phones since the S7 have been having this quick charge standard. Using fast chargers is convenient, but it is not good for long term and it is just another scummy way for companies to reduce the longevity of your device and make you buy a new one. Tbh Dash Charging or Warp Charging or any fast charging should only be used when you're in a rush and you're phone's battery is low

Thanks buddy noticed this issue too .. while charging on regular charger it's fine shows almost 3700 as health but on dash charger it shows much lower
So i figured something interesting ...
The ideal capacity of oneplus 6t is 3700
But rated or we can say usable capacity is of 3610mah ..
So according to that accubattery is almost right ...

I only have the "issue" that battery goes from 100 to 96% fairly quick but I don't really care. Drain afterwards is normal and getting over 10hrs SOT easily anyway.

Mine does this but I noticed that if I reboot my phone every morning before taking it off the charger, this issue goes away. So I'm guessing there is some sort of trickle charging happening once the batter reaches capacity. I also notice if I take the phone off the charger as soon as it hits 100%, battery does not drain to 96% quickly as well. Must be something with the way one plus software works with charging
