Screen cable - ZTE Axon 7 Mini Questions & Answers

Does anyone know if the Screen Cable is compatible with the full Axon 7? Trying to recover data. Would prefer not to have to crack my mini open too just to find out they're not.

[Q] Need to fix usb connection, no adb/fastboot. Alternate motherboard points?

Well the microusb on my N7 has been half broken for almost a year now (worked only the first month before it was dropped with a cable in). Its always been able to charge and it must be a hardware issue, my other N7 connects fine to the same computer port and cable. I've also tried many other cables and computer.
Now normally this isn't a huge deal as I just transfer things I need over samba but I now have a new situation.
An OTA bootlooped it, its with stock recovery, factory reset still results in a bootloop, I can get to the bootloader fine but since my data connection never works fastboot is a no go, replacement microusb modules are $60+
I replaced the screen last month myself so my warranty is gone.
I'd like to make a temporary connection to the motherboard just to fastboot a factory image and twrp. There seem to be a few data points that could work, this thread shows one beside the battery connector http://rootzwiki.com There is also the one on the microusb module itself above the actual plug but that whole module could be messed up so I'd rather try another.
I'm not great with soldering and there is no way I could solder either of those spots on my own. Are there any other spots that would be easier? Would only the data +/- points be needed to the cable? Or is the 5v and ground needed to?
Thanks!!
If I'm not mistaken if you buy a n7 official dock. It connects via the 4 round brass dots on the bottom of your n7 I forget what the proper term is lol. Anyways its the same as USB as far as I know. Or find the pinout of them and make something.

touch screen not responding, any way to gain controll through computer?

So recently the touch screen has stopped responding, i tried everything from restarting to a full wipe but got nothing.
i eventually took it apart and saw that one of the pins on the display ribbon connector was black so it had shorted.
what i want to know is would there be a way to control my phone through my computer? i restored a back up so i have sidesync 3.0 but no way to start it without touchscreen.
is there any thing i can do?
Hi,
Try getting an USB OTG cable (I bought mine for just 2-3$ on eBay), and plug in an USB mouse on it, so you can use the cellphone with the mouse. I did that to backup my Xperia Z1 when its touch screen stopped working .
Good luck, hope you can do it!

Password locked Galaxy S5, Busted Screen, Bad USB port

I'm locked out of my S5, can't see the screen or use touchscreen. USB port is shot too so no ADB magic will help unless it's wireless. I have working led light and wireless qI charger. NFC still works...anyone have any idea how I can extract data?
Wow... kinda sounds like you're screwed.
Maybe solder in a new USB port and then try to extract the data through that route? Or, replace the screen. Or both.
In any case, let it be a lesson to always keep good backups.
I originally had the USB port go out, then I locked myself out after 10 swipes of fingerprint failed and I had long forgotten my pin code. I had a second S5 that I could no longer root so it became the source I got the new USB port from. I wanted to odin firmware to my locked out phone so i needed to change usb port. Dismantling the S5 proved hard for me, as I broke the screen and digitizer. go figure

Broken nexus 6p display

Hey Guys!
So my nexus 6p dislay broke yesterday and the display is completely f****d... the digitizer reacts on a few places but i can't boot the phone because i have secure start-up encryption enabled and the screen doesn't react at the first number of the pin but on every else it does.
but i really really need some of the files that are on the phone so my question is: do you think i can somehow get them from my phone? I have TWRP installed if that somehow could help

Hook up OTG and connect USB mouse n keyboard. You can try this....https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2786395. You might need screen replacement if you realllllly want your files.

Broken phone: Jiayu s3 broken screen, touch working no display

Hello xda developers users, today i found out that my dad broke his phone. At first i knew that local shops would'nt be able to help since its not something that has been bought by one. The bigger problem is that, the usb debugging wasnt enabled so i cannot pull out all the pictures. I looked up everywhere for a solution and there was no program that supports this type of phone. I have also tried plugging it into the pc but it showed that:" please insert driver g". tried everything i could so if someone could please find me something to take out the important pictures of the phone i would really appriciate it. ( he doesnt have any type of backup since he barely knows how to use a phone)
Have a nice day!
unfortunately when there is no display you can't do much... you can't enter recovery or put your phone in MTP mode to copy files from internal memory. that's why PC can't install driver. By default with USB is only for charging.
I got Redmi 5 Plus using Tapatalk
If display is working but no touch, you can connect a USB mouse with a OTG cable.
No picture at all, try to get another S3 and swap the mainboard or buy a new display, there is new stock at some sellers at AliExpress for reasonable price.
There are YouTube videos about changing the display. You can buy a whole new display (with tools) from Aliexpress. I bought such a set for about USD 55 and replaced a broken display. It succeeded otherwise well, but the front camera does not work any more - maybe the tiny connector is open... The operation takes some time and patience, watch the video before byuing a new display!
