Fingerprint Sensor (Moto Actions Button) - Moto E4 Questions & Answers

Hello again,
Glad to see the forums gaining traction with this phone now.
So, at bed time I like turn off all vibrations so my girlfriend can not.be disturbed. This is always easy to do EXCEPT for the finger print sensor. The only way I know to turn off the vibration on it is to put on DND mode (total silence.)
This has the desired effect. The PROBLEM is that I cannot listen to any audio in my headphones with this on.
Is there a vibrate on/off switch for the finger print sensor? The only solution I have found is to turn off the one button nav and disable vibrate on tap... But there must be a way to just turn off vibrate on the fingerprint sensor... Anyone?
Thanks in advance!

Has anyone tried that?
Another way is to turn on battery saver.

The fingerprint vibration is especially annoying when using one button nav :/ wish it would turn off when that is enabled

[Q] Double-Tap to Screen ON? (Similar to LG G2 KnockOn feature)

Is there a way to implement this?
trying to minimize the use of my home button to power my screen on
Try 'proximity screen off'. It uses the proximity sensor to turn on/off the phone.

How do I turn off the vibrate feature when hitting back button?

Anyone else get tired of the vibrate function when hitting the back button? Looked all over setting but can't find a way to turn it off! Thanks.

Under settings, sounds and notifications, other sounds, vibrate on touch. Took me forever to find first time around, and to find it again now
That turns of all vibration you can't turn off just one email button

It's not the email bottom I'm just looking to see if we can turn off the vibration for the back button only.

Screen goes to sleep during hands free calls

I have a problem with my unrooted Marshamallow X Force in that when I am in a call on the speakerphone/hands free the screen will go to sleep after a moment and I cannot wake it up other than by pressing the power button (No sensor detection or screen swipe). Is there any way to either disable the sleep mode during hands free calls or a way to get the screen to come back on without having to press the power button?
EDIT: OK I've found the attentive display thing but if I am looking slightly away like looking at my computer display it loses my face and sometimes I wander around during a call. I will see how it goes.
EDIT:2 Bah! It's not helping. Anyone got any ideas?
+1 It happened To me while on bluetooth headset, very annoyed.

There is no way to change this behavior that I know of. I also find it annoying.
Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
On another hand, behavior is logical. To save battery, screen goes off. The same is with normal calls. Only problem is that attentive display/proximity sensor is not turning it on.
Try to suggest Moto on official forum or under Moto app on market to implement that.

Fingerprint Scanner

This is my first Galaxy phone since the S2 (been with Nexus). I setup the scanner but it doesn't seem to unlock the phone or do anything when i try to touch it. Call me crazy but can't you just pick up the phone when its off(black screen) and touch scanner to open to home page? Seems odd that you would have to use power button to turn on display then unlock every time??
Thats how it works with the 6p, touch the scanner and you're off and running.

That sound you need to return phone for exchange
I've found that you have to be much more accurate with finger placement compared to the 6p. I think it's due to the size & shape of the scanner. It seems to want to learn a smaller area of your finger. The learning process for prints seems clunkier too. Try clearing and relearning your prints
i have the same problem. even cleared it and redid it but still doesnt work. is it a defect? maybe i need to exchange.

Yes. If I leave the phone alone for a while then try to use fingerprint it works. So you have to wait until the phone is ready for it (certain amount of time) instead of just using fingerprint whenever you want to unlock?

Strange. I can lock the phone with the power button and immediately unlock with my fingerprint.

Interesting. Maybe I have some other setting enabled. Are you using other unlocking methods like Iris etc or just fingerprint alone?

do you have it set to lock immediately when screen timeout or power button is pressed?
Works fine for me. Instantly unlocks once my finger is placed on the scanner.
Tried immediately after clicking the power button to lock and when the device is in deep sleep.

Just fingerprint. I wasn't crazy about the iris scanner since I had to lift the phone and line up my eyes.

I had it set to 5 seconds, but I changed it to immediately. Same result either way. Fingerprint unlocks right away.

Thanks. That was the issue. It was set to default 10 minutes. After setting to immediately it's all good. Thanks again!

Help. G6 is auto muting when turning on display

Hi, does anyone know why this would happen? today morning when my G6 alarm rang, I just pressed some random buttons to mute it. Since then the phone is going into Auto Mute. I can turn up the volume but when I turn off the display and turn it back on, it mutes. I don't want to reset the phone

Check in the sound&notification settings if there is something wrong like the "not disturbing" enabled or something like that

How you know that it's in mute? There is some sort of symbol in the status bar? Can you post a screen of it?

Yes, you can see in this screen shot. I even tried turning up the ringer volume to full and then turn off and on the screen and then I see the ringer is muted again View attachment 4140577

Tried also to enable and disable the not disturb option? The reset may be the only solution, it takes time but you can save almost everything with lgbackup.
Thanks Killua96 for trying to help me. I just found out the problem. I had installed an app noheadsup by Floatify which tried to activate Do not disturb mode every time I turned on the screen. But I didn't doubt the app because I had installed it one week ago, and it just started acting up today. Thanks for suggestions friend!
