any downside for unlocking bootloader/Root LG G6? - LG G6 Questions and Answers

Hi.
comming from Samsung galaxy s7 edge, bought a new LG G6 H870.
is there any down side for unlocking the bootloader/rooting the device?
on samsung we have the knox indicator and once you unlock the boot loader, the knox indicator is tripped and there is no way to reset that.
it affect allot of security features(banking apps fingerprint logging etc)
so, if i want to root the device to run certain apps, will i have to consider anything else being affected?

Rooting ain't what it used to be.
In the prehistoric Android days rooting was needed to get rid of the excessive crapware supplied by you mobile provider.
Buying an unlocked phone was nonexistent so drastic measures were needed by the device owners.
Today crapware still exists but is not quite so controlling of the device.
Unlocking the bootloader and rooting prevents updates from updating, some apps won't function such as Android pay, Netflix, Some banking apps.
The hassle of messing with a device and loss of some of the device features just isn't worth it.

On the LG G6 you will "earn" a warning boot screen and loose the garanty for errors related to the root/bootloader unlock/custom rom.
Apart from that the Gear S3 is no longer working, as the Gear App does not work. My Banking App (Banking 4A) and the fingerprint is working fine.
I do need root for some gaming tools.

Galaxy S7 KNOX Disabled itself.

Well, RIP Samsung.
I've been on the forum here and there for random rooting purposes. But for some reason, it seems that my dad's S7 just disabled KNOX. By itself. For no reason whatsoever. No new apps. Anything like that. Weirdest thing to happen.
My dad just opened a case with Samsung support about it. They had to conference call with TMobile, another Samsung Agent, and a blackberry agent (that was for other reasons.)
So yea: KNOX on Samsung disabled itself.
It's wierd af isnt it.

is it worth encrypting our phones?

I've always been curious about encryption but it looks like to much of a hassle. I've read that it has some serious performance conferences, that it can't be reversed, and I think you might not be able to use other lock (or unlock, in the case of smart Lock) method that aren't password/pin.
Has anyone done it on a k5/k5 plus?
I have a k5 with Android 8.1 (aex)

Galaxy Store Uninstalling itself - Backup Method

Hey there;
Sprint S10+, 128GB version. After every update, the Galaxy Store uninstalls itself. It becomes a com.sec.etc... item and only comes back up when I install a random build of Galaxy Apps over it, which in turn updates to Galaxy Store. Except the most recent update, which unfortunately landed me in an old Galaxy Apps version that will not update itself. Any idea what may cause this kind of behavior?
I haven't done much on the phone, so a factory reset wouldn't hurt my feelings terribly; I would love to avoid doing this, however. I did use SmartSwitch, though this didn't have the battery-killing side-effect that seemed to plague most Samsung users. Is this perhaps the culprit?
If it is, and a factory reset is needed.. Is there an easy / quick way to back up the important "stuff" without using SmartSwitch? I assume backup and restore from Google or Samsung Cloud is safe?
Thanks!

S7E (Exy) notification delayed until phone is unlocked (doze related) ?

Hi guys, much like other users I'm getting that stupid notification delay and when you grab the phone suddenly they all flood in. It seems related to doze, I'm not sure
https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/help/delayed-push-notifications-t3378852/page4
Apparently factory reset doesn't help. I'm wondering if a custom rom would help. What are the best ones out there and will certain apps (like banking or authentication ones) will still work on a rooted phone.
Thanks!

How to get call recording with any means necessary?

I have been googling and spending days to get a definitive answer.
I got a S20+ 5G last week, so my S8 on Android 9.0 was demoted to my secondary phone. I use my secondary phone just for call recording because in my line of work, I sometimes have to record the conversations I have with people, with their knowledge that its being recorded.
Till now I used a Sony Xperia Z3 on Android 6.0.0., which allowed call recording apps, but now I want to switch to my S8.
As the S8 is now my secondary phone, I am prepared to do anything necessary to get this function, even if means I have to root, trip knox, loose the fingerprint sensor or what ever.
I just can't seem to find a definitive guide on how to root a Exynos S8, nor if that will enable call recordning, or which apps to use when I eventually root my phone.
I have the SM-G950F model, Mar 1 Security update. From what I gathered, I can't downgrade to oreo or nougat because I have previously updated to Android Pie and the bootloader won't allow it.
Can anybody give some advice?
