Need help flashing stock on ubuntu - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

so heres the situation, a couple weeks ago my sammy a5 meet a horrible end and ive been without a phone. My buddy gave me his old s7 edge, its got cracked screen and has been sitting inn a drawer(hes rocking a pixel xl instead). so got it home charged it up turn it on and it got this blue sceen says there was a problem updating.
so longer story short got the stock 6.0.1 for bell 935w8 but i only run ubuntu, now while im able to flash smaller tars or img files flashing all stock at once wont work with either heimdall or Jodin3.
thought i could maybe flash twrp and go straight into custom roms i cant flash anything onto the device because of FAP lock in download mode.
Can anyone help me out? i know this would be easier with a windows comp but i dont have one.

[Q] HELP!!!! note 3 bootloop

Hello everyone,
i am fairly new to the world of rooting and recently encountered a problem while flashing a rom
i have the at&t samsung galaxy note 3 N-900A running 4.3 jellybean (2 year contract expired and i got and used the unlock code)
i rooted the phone using the kingo root app, because i could not update the phone (I recently moved out of the USA so i cant connect to an at&t server to update)
i installed safestrap recovery 3.71 and it was running fine
i found a tutorial from galaxy note 3 root for the knoxraid ro
(put youtube. c o m here) /watch?v=8HDHt4xSnQY
according to the tutorial i had to install the rom over the stock rom file
so i copied the stock rom to rom slot 1
this is where i messed up, i installed the knoxraid rom over the stock rom without wiping/data factory reset first. But it gets worse, i realized i forgot to wipe the data from safestrap so before the install was even halfway completed, i pulled the battery out.
now whenever i turn it on it will go straight to recovery mode
it wont even turn off. i have to pull the battery out.
i can get to download mode and recovery mode but thats it.
im not sure about the build number because it wont boot up
all i can tell you is it is a at&t note 3 running 4.3 jellybean
please help if you can
btw: my computer wont recognize the phone because it says the PHONE does not have the correct drivers installed
however odin still recognizes it with the blue box with 0:[COM6] if that helps
so yeah please help me the phone is fairly new and i dont want to waste $600

Well, this is the wrong forum to begin with.
However, head over here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2703006 , and read very, very carefully.

Someone Help me?

Generally I am able to get some help on the forum but today must not be my day. I have a g935p sprint edge. I was able to root it in a couple different ways without issue but when it comes to putting twrp on it I am not able to. I was able to flash twrp with odin but then when i switch into odin i get a blue screen that says that the recovery is blocked due to custom stuff. Does anyone have any suggestions? I know its late but i want to get this thing going before tomorrow

Did I make jewellery out of my s7 edge? :S

I have the S7 Edge SM-G935F, which is the exynos version I believe.
It starting with unrooting, which boot looped my device. I have tried samsung kies firmware recovery but the download always stopped at a certain percentage saying an error was found in the dowloaded file. I tried to fix it by flashing what I believed was the stock bootloader with odin but that made my problem worse.
It turns on and shows a red coloured screen, and the voice assistant kicks in to babble but seems to not respond to touch at all. I think I can go into download mode, because I've seen a shop assistant get into it when I took it to see if they can fix it. Unfortunately It would cost 230 euros, which I cannot afford. And in case you are wondering, no I didn't buy the phone. I got it as a birthday gift, as I never owned a smartphone before that.
I loved trying out apps and tweaking the phone with root, but unfortunately I wasn't careful enough.
Is there any hope for me? Thanks in advance if anyone could help me out.
EDIT: Thank you to both replies! I did as you said and I downloaded the correct firmware. It seems the one I flashed before was actually incompatible. Everything works now thought, I lost all data but better than having no phone.

Go to sammobile.com, create an account & download the latest firmware for SM-G935F. Install Samsung Drivers on pc. Boot device into download mode. Extract the downloaded firmware and use odin to flash it.
In case you don't know there are 2 S7 phones, S7(930F) and S7 Edge(935F) and their firmware files are not exactly interchangeable.
I think you might flash s7 firmware on your s7e since red screen is the same symptoms when you flash S7flat kernel on S7 Edge. The fix is easy, just reflash again with the correct file.

How to bring a Verizon Note 3 back to life?

I found my old Note 3 in a closet and decided I would gift it to my 12 year old as a faux-tablet. I powered the Note 3 up and got to the Verizon flash screen where is just locked-up. I then attempted to go through recovery and factory reset (keep in mind that I am using the stock recovery). I rebooted and still stuck on the verizon flash screen. So what is the trick to get past the boot screen? Personally, I would like to blow away all things Verizon and change to another ROM, but I need to get past this issue. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!
From where i can see it, u can just flash it with stock Rom or another as u like, cz the other option is what u have tried already.
flash firmware with odin

S8 SM-G950F - Unkown cause, possibly bricked!

Hi guys,
Phone: Samsung Galaxy S8 SM-G950F
I was given this phone by a friend of mine who attempted to install factory binary or something or rather.
He can not recall exactly what he attempted to do, however.... This is the condition it is in now..
I have no clue where to even begin with it.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Drew.
Blind bet is that freund is finished with this phone if doesn't go to download mode.
Your are need to download official firmware from Sammobile and flash it through odin .
First thing is to see if odin detects it in download mode.
Ive managed to get an almost bricked s8 at least alive and kicking a few days ago by reflashing *only* the AP file (stock 8.0 XSA from Sammobile) which at the very least got me around the locked bootloader issue. Its just killed the IMEI in it.
In a couple of days ill get another shot at restoring it to full funtionality but ive already replaced it anyway so its most likely only going to be used for DeX now.
Ive had no responses to my post so meh.
Which exact one did you use Funkymonkey..?
Thanks in advance.
