Hi all!!, please help me with this!, Im on a vacation trip outside my country and I dont know what to do!!.
My phone isnt working properly anymore when taking photos, every photo I take comes out like this ( oi68.tinypic .com/ifx3eb.jpg ), before this, photos were stored normally in the camera album and without any problems, but now they go to a new one called "CoverCamera" and without showing any image, just like you can see in the picture.
this is the first time that happens to me, my phone is a samsung galaxy s5, with a "s-view flip cover".
I have no clue and im desperate, I hope theres a solution for this problem. Thanks in advance for your time and attention.

Haya everyone.
I am really lost for a solution here.
My wizard's camera has stopped working properly.
It used to work fine, but since recently everytime I want to use it, the pictures come out all screwed up.
I've attached two samples below.
I tried just about every camera patch there's available, but none of them seem to have any substantial effect.
I also tried different JPG settings, different sizes(that worked a short while) and even different Camera applications like coolcamera..
None of them seem to solve the problem.
Anyone have an idea what the problem could be?

I've had a very similar problem with my old non-smart phone, I took it in to the service center and it was a hardware problem... I hope I won't disappoint you but if it hasn't happened after a ROM flash, camera software change or something - probably your camera is just broken, anyway you can check that in your local service center too?
ehhh.. it is simple settings prob imo. do full backup and hard reset to be sure.

I don't think it's a hardware issue, since the preview of the camera is good.
I'll try a hard reset, but could anybody tell me how I cab perform a full backup?

I use SPB Backup. It has been working fine for me untill now, and you have the chance to restore e. g. only pim.
I believe my camera is broken - black screen. I'm not sure but I think it's happened after I upgraded to wm6.
Does anyone had the same problem and was able to fix it or the hardware is ****ed up and there's nothing to do?

honestly I don't believe that an upgrade to wm6 can "break" your camera...
... and then there is a simple test that you can try: come back to the original shipped i-mate rom (ftp://ftp.clubimate.com) and you see what happens.
but.... why don't you give us some more infos?
like: is a G3/G4 locked or unloked, IPL/SPL version...

well, I did that. I restore the original rom and the camera still didn't work.
My phone is G3 locked and I installed on top wm6 from faria (a nice one!).
Of course it could just be that my camera gave up. Since I was not using it regularly and at some point after the upgrade to wm6 I saw the problem it was one of the link.
Can the hardware of the camera be affected by the overclocking?

i think i may have a similar problem (but the explination doesn't go in to deep detail)
when i try to snap a picture, about half the time it will snap....half the time it just goes black (the screen) and no matter what....it WILL NOT SAVE the photo.
i've tried changing where it saves the photos (main memory or sd card) as well as changed all the settings one by one (megapixels, fine:super fine, snapping type [full press etc] etc. etc. etc. i also tried changing settings via the advance config tool often mention onthe forums)
i haven't updated the rom (stock at&t rom is installed....i'm savy but not savy enuf to change the rom lol) nor have i updated windows (it always gives me an error...says it cant connect to the server or something, oh well i don't much care for micro$ucks anyways lol)
it's running windows 6.1 professional...i have plenty of memory free and hadn't installed anything new or tweaked any settings the day it stoped working....
any ideas?

oh yeah, oddly...the video record function still works....
Camera might be out of the connecting socket - open your device and make sure it's connected. Failing that - the replacement cameras can be purchased fairly cheaply.

all....as to the suggestion of opening the phone case....well with my nerve disease i'm going to have to have a friend do that since my hands are often no where near steady...ill let ya all know if that works.
mean time i may also look for maybe some other camera software....like i said, it will snap the photo but it refuses to SAVE the photo....so maybe the software is corrupt who knows....ill try it all

so i dove into my system registry tonite....i tweaked some things, changed the localtion of where stuff gets saved, changed some 1's to 0's an vice versa an it now seems to work....hope it remains working!

Long time browser, long time poster on other forums. I'm mainly a CDMA guy (flashing guru) so bear with me.
Buddy of mine passed away, the last pictures from the 2-3 days of his life are in his Shadow. It has a user code lock in it... i know how to reset the phone to get round it, but I dont want to lose the data.
I also have all the furios gold unlocking products but they dont seem to bypass the lock without erasing data.
Can anyone think of a way to get access to trhese pictures? I am willing to pay whatever it takes as these pics are extremely extremely important to his family. Let me know if u have any ideas....apprecuite your time

Hi I own a galaxy i9500 (kitkat)! Every time I try to take a photo with my front camera, my phone freezes , and a warning box appear ("camera fail").
All this start to happen after i get my phone rooted, i ve been reading a lot, in many places i ve told that could be hardware issue but, im almost sure is something related to software o camera firm (i really hope that! I live in argentina and the camera replacement is really expensive and hard to get).
i search in google and i get some firms to update another smartphones, but nothing for S4, im really noob so hope you can help me.

Try flashing a stock firmware with odin (plenty of guides available on site).
Once everything is stock then see if camera is working, if it is then was a software issue if not working then its hardware and a repair maybe in order.
Did you remove all knox related apps after rooting?

Today was my karma day. IDK what I did wrong, but my phone just stopped working and that just added a big problem to me.
So about the problem.
Short story - need to recover at least photos from the phone.
Long story - Today the phone just shut itself down and after trying to turn back it on it seems like it's in a boot loop or something similar to that. Video (BELOW) (sry for a long video, just wanted to capture it all). I can't start it normally nor my pc detects the phone... I tried a couple of recovery programs but A) They don't do **** B) They don't support S7 edge. So I tried to see if I could access the phone from called "odin screen" where you go when you root or mod your phone, but no luck there. So the only option I see is left to me, even that I don't want to, I need to somehow root the phone or do some "magic" that you guys know more about to access the phone memory and extract photos, if possible other data, to my pc. That is the main objective. The secondary is of course to fix the god damn phone, but even root kitty like me should handle that. P.S. Forgot to tell, but it's visible in the video - the LED is turned on with blue light all the time while it does that, even when I go to recovery screen or "odin screen".
Objectives:
MAIN:
A) Recover data.
Secondary:
B) Fix phone.
P.S. It's late for me, so I won't be able to try much today, so hopefully tomorrow after trying your suggestions something will work :good:
P.S.S. While making the video, I encountered a new bug, PHOTO (BELOW).
P.S.S.S. This phone was never rooted or moded, bought from a UK shop and used for 4 ish years.
