There is a dolby for op5

Without a double speaker, I can't see how anyone could make a stereo mod.

I had I will enter a stereo from external loudspeakers

on Nexus 5 and on OP 3 there is such fashion where it is possible to involve the acoustical loudspeaker for reproduction of music, games.

I also search for such a mod.
Would be great if there is such a thing.

Connect your Bluetooth speaker and problem solved.. In most other situations it's not appropriate to use full volume with gaming or watching movies anyway.. at least not in public.. unless you're living in ASIA haha

There was a mod for some phones which enabled the ear piece as a loud speaker , I'm also searching for an option like that.. That way we will get dual speaker effect

I think you have to change here in the file to increase the volume but which .
"ROOT/System/ETC/mixer_paths_tasha.xml" or "ROOT/System/ETC/Mixer_paths.xml "

you dont understand we dont need to do a sound louder, and the stereo needs effect, but you are right somehow it is necessary to adjust this file mixer_paths_tasha.xml

[mod idea] Stereo sound on the Xperia Z1, like the Z2!

I just had an epiphany.
The Sony Xperia Z1 does not just have one speaker. It's got one on the bottom, but one on the top as well used for calling!
Now my question is, could someone with more knowledge of software modding make the earphone speaker produce the left channel of stereo audio and the bottom speaker the right channel? This must be possible.
I came to this realisation after having made a call and opening an audio producing app which surprisingly used the earphone speaker for sound (yep KitKat still has this bug). At max volume, the audio was still pretty audible, though not loud at all, but useable in quiet areas.
So please tell me if I struck gold here with this idea, or is impossible for some odd reason?
+1 That's a great idea man, hope the dev's see this and work on this.

Thanks, I just had the issue again and used it to my advantage. And actually, at the highest volume which is relatively low compared to the regular speaker, music sounds much fainter than the bottom one. I'd love to see a developer try this, but it's definitely not going to be as good as the Xperia Z2. There would have to be a kind of equalizer for the upper speaker alone, to set it to ones liking, together with a toggle in the settings menu to revert back to mono audio.
It would be possible yes but it 1)could damage incall speaker having it louder then it is standard2) wouldnt make much difference unless the speaker could produce clearer bass and therefor removing tinny audio

1) I often call with the volume at max. This is still audible from an arm's length distance, as long as surroundings are relatively quiet. Aren't 'loud'speakers supposed to be loud?
2) If a toggle could be modded in the settings menu, I wouldn't actually mind the odd quality as long as it's stereo. I'm not expecting any superb bass: even sound similar to my old Nintendo DS Lite is good enough for me. I haven't been able to test the earpiece speaker too extensively yet, but I don't believe the quality is all that poor either, as its quality determines the call quality of the device which is expected to be good on a flagship phone nowadays.
Actually playing radio for the first time on the z1 today, the speaker was playing at stereo mode and it was amazing just like my old HTC one.
When I went back to walkman, it went to mono and blank audio without base or nttn.
If there's a reason why radio plays on stereo mode with the nice base and all, there should be a way to make that stereo work system wide.

Wait what?
This stereo mode you're talking about... was it truly that one speaker output the left channel and the other the right? At equal volume? And did it actually sound good? I haven't heard both speakers produce audio at the same time yet. Now I'm interested!

I think the FM radio made use of the second speaker to produce the stereo sound. You try it as well. You will feel the difference of sound output of FM and sound output of walkman or any other audio source of the phone.
It sounded so good that I've been jamming to FM radio all day.
Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
I was thinking about that too. Lets say if you turn up volume to 80% than only bottom speaker overtakes all because of overloading, but till 80% both speakers are working at the same time... Or at least until the sound is same on both speakers
Sent from my C6903 using xda app-developers app
This would be terrible. The speaker on the top is not meant for playing loud sounds whilst the other one is. That would not balance the sound output AFAIK just having 2 different types of speaker is worse already what more this? But still yeah maybe possible.

I tried it yesterday, but to no avail. The stock FM Radio app (you must mean) only shows "stereo" in the top right corner but when set to speakers, the sound was really just mono. When I covered up the bottom speaker, all sound was gone. Are you very sure you had the upper speaker able to produce at the same volume as well? And can you reproduce it?
I noticed an audio bug when I called just before, but I don't call very often and now I can't even reproduce the original bug.
Great news, everyone!
STEREO SOUND IS NOW POSSIBLE ON THE XPERIA Z1!!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z1/themes-apps/true-real-stereo-sound-earpiece-t2822691
Follow this link and install the .zip file on your rooted Sony Xperia Z1. It truly works, I'm amazed!
(If only they could make a toggle app and adjustable volume levels per channel, that'd be great)

[Solved!! Read 1st post] Who else isnt satisfied by 5.0 sound quality

Maybe it's too much to ask for DSEE-HX
But, seriously, sounds like sh*t on headphone mode
much worse than stock 4.4.4
and speaker is worse as well
edit:
It seems fixed after "walkman" is updated to "music"
Try update it and take a reboot

"Music" update may not be available for you if u are not a beta tester
Then download it here

Very soft speaker and i am yet to test the headphones. We need to wait on some mods like dreamingonmusic. To be honest the Z1 never had good sound quality anyway.

Yeah never been good without mod, known to be worse than Xperia Z
Big drop as i used to use Dreamingonmusic
but 4.4.4 without mod seems still better than 5.0
I feel that sony just copy and paste 90% files from Z2 and Z3 690 so..... not well calibrated
Honestly, I find that music with headphones sounds great. I just make sure to turn on studio surround sound and adjust the equalizer based on what headphones I use.

No need for an apology. At least you got the attention of others for the same problem I'm wondering about.
Now isn't there anyway we can increase the loudness of the speaker? Maybe even the clarity too. Because the Audio mods for Kitkat are able to do that. I'm sure we can do the same on Lollipop
So…

I actually found the headphone volume is lowered too, maybe tends to be a bit more bass by its decrease of clearity. Yeah the speaker sucks and suffer feature loss x_x
Low volume isnt problem for me as i dont need high volume, just give me more clearity and resolution!!!!!!
Here's a quote from me on the Q&A Section:
LeParkour012 said:
Updated to Lollipop yesterday. Of course I'm using Sony's official update and not CM12. So yeah I didn't bother to.watch any videos or listen to music because I updated my phone very late at night. But today, I realised the Audio seems broken. How is it broken? Well, I play a YouTube video at max volume. Seems fine but a little soft for being at max. As soon as I drag it down just a bit, it's like impossible to hear anything. When it reaches half volume, it feels like the minumum volume and the minimum volume feels like it's muted. Anyone have the same problem?
Tl;dr: Can't hear jack **** on near max volume

I'm guessing you guys are facing the same issues? The speakers are WAY too soft. The difference in volume from Max to 3/4 is just too big. Too quiet on 3/4 and just average on max.

Can we make something like this

Hello Ive been also a user of Z3.That time also I found this mod very useful
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2889964
Both speaker on incoming calls, while playing games, videos
I don't have the expertise to do so.But of someone who can implement this would be a very great achievement. As we know the speaker of opt is not so satisfactory
Would be very thankful also.
You're trying to figure out a way to enable 2 speakers on the Oneplus2?
The OnePlus2 only has one speaker.
Yes earpiece speaker to with lesser volume of course. Was ported to Z2 too.
Nexus 5 had this mod too

Headphone hissing sound

Is this headphone hissing sound common in all mi a1 phones or is there some hardware issue?
hiss
Is your phone plugged in and charging when you get the hiss? im thinking its a hardware fix. It's not easy to notice it, at 1st I thought mine was OK - but play any tune that has some lower volume parts and you can hear it. Also, play any MP3, pause it - and you will hear the high pitched whine / hiss - it sort of sounds like electronic interference of some sort. So the sound is always there just masked until quieter passages. To test , use headphones, turn up the volume, play an mp3, use YouTube - anything with audio, then PAUSE the item and listen - you will hear a second or so of the noise, then it will stop.

Just noticed this last night :/. I was using apple earpods. changed to sony headphones, and the issue is gone. weird though
I'm interested in buying this phone but I'm holding off on it because of this widespread headphone audio issue. I'm surprised that this is such an issue... especially since the phone's supposed to have a 10v amplifier and Xiaomi's marketing the phone's HD audio? WTF.
I just need to know if this is affecting only Indian models or all models.

What about this thread? https://www.reddit.com/r/Xiaomi/comments/71xrqz/mi_a1_headphone_static/
Seems like a fairly serious issue. And I like my volume loud (90+) so if static is apparent at higher volumes, I'll be extremely upset.
I'm extremely skeptical about the audio quality of this device. I can totally see it being above average or devices from the same price segment but I'm sure it isn't something from another world. People seem to over praise it and I'm sure most of them are just considering loudness as audio quality.

with some half decent earphone this phone sounds great not just loud mate
I'm having same issue.
This might caused by the audio amplifier boosted the volume gain which increases the static noise and taints audio clarity.
Earphone/headphone which has more than 35ohm impedance and low sensitiviy pressure level below 98dB might have better chance with the boosted gain.
Even on ATH M40X, the background static noise is still noticeable when sound is played. *sigh
I wish the amplifier is disabled by default and could be enabled on demand from equalizer app.
@chrone Exactly, I'm willing to see how it will perform with biquads mod (if it is possible)
Hey guys I've just noticed that I get the same hissing sound on my nvidia shield K1 but I never noticed it lol
