I think you actually can roll-back to MIUI normaly

I also would like to know this, i believe you can flash through TWRP but i'm not sure and i would like someone to confirm this because i need to do it today and i don't have a windows system to recover it with ease if something fails.
Thanks.

I flashed miui rom zips on twrp

It's possible but you need to disable dm-verity in twrp (or flash lazyflasher) else it will not boot, and it will wipe your internal storage partition during installation so make sure to backup your data and place your rom in microsd rather than internal storage.
I think you better use xiaomi.eu rom rather than official, since it easier and not wiping your internal storage during installation.

Just flashed the official ROM through TWRP, disabled verify in the options just in case, threw some mount errors but installed correctly.

I just did it and it works fine.

Phone doesnt like cutom roms :)

Hi my phone seems to hate custom roms like cyamogenmod and gapps because everytime i flash them a bootloop inevitably comes to haunt me. Other roms like Albe95 Ports work. http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4/i9505-develop/rom-albe95-lollirom-official-1-0-t3049564
My current rom is Phoenix Rom. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2349584
The roms listed above work flawlessly.
A rom that I wanted to try was cyamogenmod 12.1 optimized by JDC team but it wouldnt boot. I followed exact instructions for each rom. Every time i used TWRP.
Could my problem be that gapps screw with the custom rom ?
Google apps are integrated in phoenix rom and albe95.
Maybe thats why they work ?
Please help.
Thank you for youre time.

You can easily test that theory by not flashing Gapps. Just only flash the rom and try to boot it.
Also are you running a Lollipop bootloader and modem?
Ive tried flashing only custom rom but the bootloop comes back. Right now i am running a lollipop modem and bootloader.

Ok do this:
Backup everything that you want to save stored on your internal storage.
1. Make sure you are running the latest TWRP. This is important because using an outdated version will not let you boot the rom.
2. Start TWRP and do a advanced wipe. Format /data (this will wipe your internal storage), format /system, format /cache and /dalvik.
3. Flash the rom.
Unfortunately that does not help. I have advanced wiped ever time before flashing rom. Maybe permisions are the problem ?

What version of TWRP are you using? And did you try booting it without simcard and sd card?
Im using 2.8.7.2 twrp. I havnt tried to boot without sd or sim. Would that be the problem ?

No idea. I'm just guessing because that rom should just boot.
Are you sure the file you downloaded is not damaged? Check the MD5 signature. For example, the latest version of the JDC CM rom has MD5:
3a1af890b87c11256c943759459ec3e4
So transfer the file to your phone. Then download a MD5 checker from the market and compare it.
Md5 matches. Looks like the insides of my phone are screwed up
Reparation your device
As those are caused by a screwed partition
As a reparation fixes this
You are going to need :-
0.a PC
1.a PIT file for your Galaxy s4 (depending on your variant)
2.Odin
3.Samsung USB drivers installed in the PC

Start with flashing the stock rom using odin. Then go for root, then recovery and then try flashing. I had the same problem but it never bothered me after flaahing the stock.

TWRP won't allow me to flash other roms

Hey I have this huge problem with TWRP. I wiped the usual files, and then tried to flash a rom. It said ERROR: failed to update binary zip or something like that. FYI, I installed Multi Boot and have two roms installed. I tried uninstalling the secondary rom and wiped the phone, but still no luck. I even used multiboot cleaner and it still says the samething. Help?
Which version of twrp is on the phone?
Use another recovery
use CWM its way better than TWRP!

Error 7 [TWRP]

Greetings gentlemen, well .. I suppose I want to install cm 14.1 unofficial on my OP2 A2005 but it happens that when I enter twrp as usual and perform all the previous steps and install the ROM as it gives me "error 7 and bla bla bla" I looked on the internet how to solve this but to do it and try again it gave me "error 4 bla bla".
I also read that installing a previous version of OOS (specifically 2.2.1) would be solved, tried and do not know what happened? Nothing, I still can not change the stock rom. Someone who happened to be similar and could have solved this situation? I really want to be able to change any rom

Tested but still not working
1)back up all your data to pc and try wiping everything(include internal storage) after that try to install recovery from fastboot and then try install whatever rom(oxygen for example)
2)or just delete twrp folder on internal storage and try if it helps
Flash oneplus2 oxygen 3.0 beta then flash latest TWRP then new rom that you want to use. That's what helped me fix the same problem.

Hello masters , There was issues with boot loop in my OP2, I got it fixed with OP Tech support help, they took control of my laptop installed Certificates and then flashed the latest version of OOS3.X.x
I unlocked the boot loader - successfully
Went to TWRP official site and downloaded the latest TWRP for OP2 and flashed via fastboot - successfully flashed , however I am unable to get into TWRP Recovery. It takes to the OP stock recovery. HELP if anyone has faced this issue before.

How to get back to stock based roms from Oreo?

I am currently using the oreo roms(lineage, aicp and etc..), but I would like to get back to the stock based twrp roms like genesys and the other ones. The problem is that when I flash them via twrp, the phone boots and shows an error: encryption unsuccessful.

Thanks it worked
Just as a sub question, how to avoid encryption on Oreo ROMs?
you cant, the latest twrp the one with 3 2.1.1 encrypts the phone and it can be used only on oreo. if you want to go back to nougat or less you have to wipe all internal storage with all in one tool.
Remember abt backing up all photos, videos or your personal files in internal storage.

custom ROM to stock OOS

I'm on a custom ROM based on 9.013.
I have the full ROM zip on my sdcard for 9.017. Am I able to flash it via TWRP recovery to get to a stock OOS pie ROM?
Unfortunately I haven't been able to find the answer whether it's flashable via recovery or not.
Thanks,
Pain

Yes of course you can flash oos via twrp. Just make sure it's really is the Full zip AKA over 1+ gig file.

If going from custom rom back to stock oos, don't forget to format data in twrp. Do a backup first because this will wipe everything. So do like this.
Reboot to twrp
Flash oos followed by twrp installer tap
Wipe them select format data type yes
Reboot recovery and install oos again followed by twrp installer again
Reboot recovery and flash magisk then reboot to system. Good luck.
