Maybe port from this rom will have less bugs? - Xiaomi Redmi Pro Questions & Answers

http://en.miui.com/thread-502828-1-1.html
This rom is for (Redmi Note 4)nikel
As you know, that phone also uses Helio X20
So maybe port from this rom will less bugs, not so much asport from ApolloLite?

how to @ in the app xdalabs...

@end222

The AOSP port is from RN4 so the bugs will be the same if I use the same method

I am not that sure that it is related to the kernel source. In my opinion is a problem of the vendor tree so it could be solved with a lot of work

Try dual booting ROMs, and test the stock one and this one out.

[ROM][UNOFFICIAL][EXPERIMENTAL][7.1.1/7.1.2]AOSP Extended for mi5s Plus/Natrium

Hi guys,
If you want an AOSP Based ROM, you can try my AOSP EXTENDED build !
It includes all changes that have been made an hour ago by Luk1337.
And ALL CREDIT FOR BUILDING THIS GOES TO LUK1337...
Whatever works => he takes credit.
Whatever doesn't work => blame the builder (me).
CAUTION : This is highly experimental stuff. You have been warned !
CHANCES ARE : it won't even boot... even if it boots on my device (proof below !).
WHAT WORKS : everything that works on other Custom ROMs.
WHAT DOES NOT WORK : everything that doesn't work on LAOS based custom ROMs.
WHY SHOULD I GIVE THIS ROM A TRY ?
You tell me...
It's AOSP. It has customizations. And it seems to be really smooth here...
LINK TO EXPERIMENTAL ROM THAT BOOTS ON MY DEVICE (7.1.1 based) :
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bz7S7jFQDiz8UjFqeEh4T0x2QUU
LINK TO EVEN MORE EXPERIMENTAL ROM (7.1.2 based) :
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0Bz7S7jFQDiz8ZjItMk9YN194MEE
Of course, to comply with XDA rules about sources :
- ROM Source : https://github.com/ResurrectionRemix
- Device tree : https://github.com/LineageOS/android...xiaomi_natrium
- Gerrit to include the latest add-ons from Luk1337 : https://review.lineageos.org/#/q/sta...+topic:natrium
- Proprietary blobs : https://github.com/Mi5Devs/proprieta...m-14.1-natrium
- local_manifests.xml file : https://github.com/NexusPenguin/loca...m_laos/natrium
Enjoy if you can boot it and report and thank me if you like it
Proof it boots
And that even 7.1.2 is booting
Just in case
Congratulations! I'd recommend you to add this thread into XDA DEVB by asking any moderator. Since this is that type of thread.
Hi, is this CAF-Based?
Edit: Hey, your local_manifest link is broken

AMAZING
Nexuspegin are my heroe. Thank you!
Hi,
Glad you like it
But beware : as I said, it is experimental...
So things may not work as they should.
Haven't had time to test it thoughtfully.
I'm already on another one
Regards.
Just installed 7.1.2 version and, at least for me the UI lags, its fluid sometimes but mostly lags, specially on scrolling and in some transitions. Stills lagging after 2nd boot

Hi,
Weird... I don't have that. Quite the opposite. On Google Play Store, my apps never scrolled that fast. Same on "Settings"...
But that was on 7.1.1.
haven't really checked 7.1.2...
I'm going to do that right now and I will tell you.
But please remember : HIGHLY EXPERIMENTAL STUFF.
Regards.

Hi,
I'm ironing out some bugs on Slim ROM to be able to release it.
And I will then look into this and see if I can fix it with a new build.
But it might take time : it seems the source has been modded by devs and improperly merged
So build produces errors...
Regards.

Dont worry, till now it has been working good, no problems. Went out last night and I got more than 5 hours of SOT using 4g.
I'll keep reporting if I found another issue.
I'm also trying to figure out how to use the dual lens, the only reference that I've found is that Snap Camera works with it but it crashes after switching to the front camera.

Kernel: Xiaomi kernel changes for Mi 5/Mi Note2/Mi 5s/Mi 5s plus/Mi Mix
The Patch based on QualComm release LA.HB.1.3.1_101rb1275
The kernel config file used is gemini_user_defconfig
It's clearly stated that the defconfig used is genimi_user_defconfig. I'm guessing it's what will be used for other devices listed there as well.
Just browse the commit, you should find everything pertaining capricorn

Roms with up to date security

What Android security patch level does your rom have?
For the last year or so I have been running CM12.1-21061015-UNOFFICIAL-hermes, which was stable but the last Android security patch level was 1 October 2016. I worried slightly, but only a little.
Now KRACK WPA2 has come along and I'm looking for a rom that is properly updated to the latest security, but I can't be sure of any of the CM ones. So I'm now running MIUI 9 and the changelog 7.10.19 shows KRACK fixed, although the Android security patch level is shown as 2016-12-01. I don't like MIUI (and don't like being told I have to agree to a privacy policy to look at my own photos in Gallery!) so I'm looking for a good CM12 based rom that has up to date security.
Is that possible? Perhaps I don't understand, but I can't find a good explanation.
It's a legitimate question. I don't know a ROM with that specs honestly, but your best bet would be waiting to get AOSP 6.0 updated with the latest security path (if it's even possible), it's the only rom with true development I know.
Anyways, KRACK while it's a critical security bug it's not really dangerous unless you're signing on plain HTTP pages frequently.
Enviado desde mi Redmi Note 2 mediante Tapatalk
Are you saying no-one running a developer rom has security updates to cover KRACK, Blueborne, Toast and so on? The whole community is leaving itself wide open?
Since Xiaomi doesn't release source code for our phone and they don't update the security patch (not even in Developers ROM), yeah we're pretty much vulnerable to every new attack
Enviado desde mi Redmi Note 2 mediante Tapatalk
Not a great place to be, is it. Thanks for your help.
Indeed. I'd say the only hope is getting the AOSP 6.0 update with new security patches, because it's the only ROM that's getting true development.
That would take a while since it isn't fully functional at the moment.

I have been using the [8.1.x]DotOS v2.1 [LUX] [UNOFFICIAL] and for now it is really nice. I had got some problems during the instalation but after some tries everything works properly... The only problem is the NFC, that have to be eliminated and I am still trying to discover how to do it

I understand.
Thank you very much for your answer!
Making Mi A1 project treble compatible means re-partitioning the device. That will result in a full format of user's data. Therefore they will never try to give an update that formats our data completely. There's also a possibility of bricking the device.
No official Project Treble

You can do it yourself but there wont be official project treble support i mean.
