Official TWRP(?) - Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime Questions & Answers

Why Redmi 4 Prime (Markw) haven't an Official TWRP build?

I don't know what's the difference between Official & Unofficial, but i think unofficial twrp seems to work flawlessly.

Anik Khan actually submit for official TWRP in past, but he is inactive for long time so we cannot get actual maintainer for official TWRP.
Also it's better use brigudav version since it's have features that official TWRP lack such as ability to backup special partition and disable dm-verity

I'd love to hear from anyone who was previously on a CM13 ROM and then installed COS13. Do you notice any performance differences? Any notable user-facing features in COS13 that are not present in CM13? Basically is there any real reason for people like me to go back to stock and get this update?
I should mention that I am running the latest build of Sultanxda's CM13 ROM (0404).

Your phone needs to be 100% stock YOG7DAS2K1 if you want to sideload the OTA.
Ahhh screw it, I'm going to do it. I'll be back with my observations.

Flash an older version of 12.1 (not the latest 12.1.1), let it update to the latest 12.1.1, then manually update the ota to 13... Or edit the updater script to skip checks for release keys..

onyone can create zip for twrp?
Just finished setting up my phone after a complete clean flash (fastboot 12.1.1 + sideloading the update) and I gotta say that it feels really snappy so far. Noticed some new strange included apps, Instagram Content, Twitter Content and Discovery. I guess the Instagram and Twitter apps have something to do with the lock screen, but I've disabled them. I have no idea what Discovery does, so if anyone has a guess I'd love to hear it.
The most interesting thing will be battery life, but my verdict on that will have to wait until I've tested it for a couple of days.

So you mean to say that if I flash this and then unlock officially, and finally flash AICP, that I will have working VoLTE on AICP??

You've tried this? So, please try this -
1. Take EFS Backup from Alka TWRP while in this ROM only.
2. Flash AICP MM over it, then CM13 firmware then gapps, and without rebooting, restore your EFS from the backup you took above.
3. Please let me know if that works to enable VoLTE in MM ROM?

No, because AICP MM does not contain the files for volte, it has no option in SIM settings to enable volte. But you may try Sudeep's cm13 volte patch. Chance to work is rare..

Nice sharing man.

Can someone suggest me, if I should update or not? Some users are reporting that there is battery drain and FP issue. Is it true?

According to the link name it's a full recovery ROM not "incremental" update. There shouldn't be any issue if flashed via TWRP except bootloader getting locked maybe.

Yes, but there is a point..
It is written full recovery rom, but at last it is said 'ota package here'
So, said this. Actually personally did not test it nor downloaded it. However by its size it is little clear that it may be full rom to be installed via zcx or lazy flasher.
Nightly..? seriously.. ? nightly builds on stable.. isnt it sounds funny..?
I have installed this update battery is good no heat and fp has little issue not major but little issue there and the rom is good and if u flash through twrp then your bootloader will get locked u have to unlock it again

While we are on that subject what does unified build mean ?
I have heard the term "oneplus promises unified build "
Thanks
OP3 & 3T run the same build of OOS. One Plus plans to do the same with OP5 & 5T OOS but hasn't released a unified build yet. Blu Spark kernel is a unified build that works on OP5/5T but I don't think there are any full ROMs yet that work on both.

Coming from Angler to Tissot

Hi all guys, Im Chris from PerĂº and Im new with Tissot. I just got tired of battery draining on my Nexus 6P and waiting for a new battery, so Im using a A1 for a entire day and feels really smooth and battery friendly.
I just want to know if I need to be careful before unlocking, rooting or flashing any rom. Do Im gonna need a MicroSD for doing all this? Maybe You can tell me any tip before I start messing around with this great phone.
Sorry for my bad english!

Just backup your phone before unlocking as it will wipe the phone and internal sd card.
I suggest you read a little bit about the a/b partition scheme as the custom rom flashing procedure is different.

If you want to install official lineage, you have a twrp that the maintainer of lineage for tissot created:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-a1/development/rom-lineageos-15-1-t3757938
As the user above said, only the twrp versions uploaded here on xda are working.
Mohancm is the official maintainer of twrp for tissot though!

Twrp not compatible with android 12. I think you wait android 12 offical release or try get patch boot.img version UJ5 android 11 with boot.img.p in update.zip beta 1 via this method https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...a-fastboot-boot-img-for-leak-install.1702233/
For sure you can. Writing this from rooted S20U on OneUI 4.
Just flash latest magisk canary with OrangeFox (a TWRP fork) which support OneUI 4.
Edit: My bad, you own a exynos S20.
So you can use imagepatchtools to patch your OneUI 3 boot image to OneUI 4. Then use latest magisk canary app to root OneUI 4 boot image then tar it and flash it with odin.

The imagepatchtools github is pretty well explained but I admit it's a bit complicated.
Or else would you try this modified twrp: twrp_G98X_geiti_modded_A12.tar ?
I applied the same fix as for snapdragon S20. It should avoid bootloop but you probably won't be able to mount system and vendor from twrp ui. Anyway you will be able to flash magisk which is the simpliest way to root.

No problem!
If you try this modded twrp can you give me a feedback here?
For the next beta you will have to flash back stock firmware then beta updates one after the other or patching all images using above imagepatchtools. But for stable release you will be able to download full firmware and flash it with odin.
