US E4 - Moto E4 Questions & Answers

Is everyone going to use the same forum for all the different models of the E4? (And just specify in the title of the specific threads what model number it's for) since the US E4 has the Snapdragon 425 so it clearly would need different ROMs.

Also differentiate between fingerprint sensor and non fingerprint sensor (T-Mobile and Metro)

Your selection is very limited and not likely to expand much simply because you have a niche device. There are legions more Qualcomm based S5s in use than Exynos. Which also means that few Developers have the H variant and the natural result is a dearth of 900H custom ROMs.
Any decent search would have found dozens and dozens of threads, asking and answering this question. Not to mention the actual ROMs.

I Have a g900h phone. I understand in most countries in the Americas peoples use this model. This is a high tech phone and perhaps the reason why most developer have qualcomm is only matter of coincidence.

You are mistaken. Most countries in the Americas use Qualcomm models e.g.
Canada 900W8
US 900T, 900A, 900V, 900R4, 900P, 900W8, et cetera
Mexico 900M
Brazil 900M
Chile 900M
Columbia 900M
Argentina 900H
In the list above, all of the models are Qualcomm except for Argentina. Only a few South American countries use the Exynos 900H. Since the vast majority of S5 phones in use are Qualcomm based, most developers also own Qualcomm phones as well. And that is the reason why there isn't much 900H custom development.

FWIW, Venezuela apparently uses the 900H as well.

[DEV] Possible porting Xperia Z5 ROM to OPT

Hello, I just noticed someone ported Xperia Z ROM to a Nexus 4, because they have the same Soc (Snapdragon S4 Pro), so I thought it would be possible to port Xperia Z5 ROM to Oneplus Two as well (both have Snapdragon 810). Obviously the fingerprint sensor will not work, but it's not a big deal for most of us anymore I guess.
Here's the link for the N4 port http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/development/rom-sony-xperia-10-7-0-222-firmware-t3244801
github (look commits history):
https://github.com/ipromeh/Sony_10.7.A.0.222_port
I am not good at porting, so I will just leave it here.
Did you even look at the development section?
Here is your answer: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one...xperia-cm12-1-official-sony-lollipop-t3235352

This ROM is just a CM12.1 with Xperia apps, not an actual port of stock Xperia ROM.
and thank you for calling me a noob.
It has all the ported apps and goods. Porting a complete framework is so hard, that your better off just buying a z5

Replicant OS for OnePlus Two

Does anyone know if there is a Replicant ROM for the Oneplus 2?
Since it's based on Cyanogenmod, how hard would it be to make/compile it for the Oneplus Two?
Thank you.
If you had googled a bit you would have found out os is oxygen not cm

Hi,
The OnePlus One was evaluated as a potential candidate, and the last line says "This is a Qualcomm device, so at usual, bad for privacy, bad for freedom, so I'll call it a bad target.".
The OnePlus Two is also a Qualcomm, albeit different. Could well be the same.
Maybe it's worth suggesting to the Devs?

Moto G4 vs Moto G4 plus - combined forums/support etc?

At the moment on XDA, there is a device forum for the Moto G4 and another one for the Moto G4 plus... Given these are 'similar' devices are there any thoughts on pooling discussions/ ROMs etc.
Note, the Moto G4 (X1622) device forum has little content, probably cause most people have bought the G4+.
Or have i got it wrong and due to the camera and fingerprint scanner, there is enough of a difference.?
Update:: just doing a quick dig, Motorola's codename for these devices is Athene for both as such has common released kernel source...
ta
I'd opt for combining, when the codename and kernel is the same for both. Also, when people want to know if it's wordt to go for one or the other it's nice to read replies on the question from both user groups without having to cross post.

Moto G4 or Moto G4 Plus for best ROM support?

I want to get rid of my Honor 7 which is totally dead regarding ROM support (and EMUI is awfull) and I want to choose a device with good support from developpers, especially for CyanogenMod.
I like the G4 Plus (especially because of it's fingerprint sensor) but I'm worrying that it will not have same support as the G4 version.
Are the ROM easy to port from G4?
Is it safer to choose the G4 or do you think the G4 Plus will catch up and gain the same activity ?

This kind of post should go in the "questions and answers" of the device, I can tell you that by reading the contents in the development sections, it seems the opposite.
G4 Plus seems more supported than the regular version, although I could be wrong.

It's true, wrong section, my mistake, and thanks for your answer!
Each rom here , support both g4 and g4 plus , there is no specific rom for either g4 plus or g4
