samsung galaxy s5 5.0 need help!

hello everyone im new to this website and forum.
I have a*samsung*galaxy*s5 G900F with android lolipop official state.
until yesterday i was really happy, but then i accidently deleted one of my albums with pictures and videos of my holidays.
So as you can guess i want to get those deleted pictures and videos back.
The first few hours i was searching for methods to recover them, i found a programm that wanted to root my phone and recover de lost data but every time i tried it failed.
a couple of hours i found an answer for my problem.. root your phone and use one of the recovery apps that you can find on google playstore.
so right now i need help with rooting my phone or towelrooting (dont know which is best for me).
i was looking trough the forums and there are too many pages too dig trough and alot of the how-to's dont have any working links anymore.
I hope someone can help me with my problem.

HELP ROOTING G530W Android 5.1.1

Hello,
Is there a way to root the Samsung Grand Prime G530W on Android 5.1.1?
I've try alot of one click root but none of them are working
Can someone help ?
Thanks
Sbougie
---------------------------------
As per the information i got from samsung this is the same phone as the G530T that was rooted in another thread.
Contiuniously looking.
I'm in the same boat, have been looking for a solution to this root for the past couple of months. To my knowledge the best solution would be looking to see if the lollipop 5.1.1 has been rooted for galaxy S6, as this phone has the same platform. Hopefully someone can give you more information and a possible route guide because I've tried to unroot this phone several times using different rom versions only to have to factory restore and being locked out multiple times. I've since stopped attempting and browse for answers from time to time. Wishful thinking may give us the right answer. Gl in your search if XDA is unhelpful.
I did it with this

work like a charm

Root Samsung S5 SM-G900F International without PC?

Hi,
I have been a big fan of this forum for years and it helped me solve many problems in the past - thank you all for the work you are doing here!
Unfortunately, I now ran into a problem which I cannot seem to solve myself.
I acquired a second-hand Samsung S5 SM-G900F International Version running Marshmallow which cannot be connected to my PC as the USB hub is broken (I didn't know that before and now I have it and have to work with it because I cannot just get another phone).
So, I tried to root it without a PC, which according to several sources I found online should not be a problem.
So far I have tried these rooting apps and none of them worked:
- Root Master
- Baidu
- Easy Rooting Toolkit
- Z 4 (which didn't even run but closed itself each time after 2 seconds)
- Kingo Root
- King Root
- Towelroot
- iroot
- Universal Androot
- Frama Root
- and I tried to use CF auto root, but there I couldn't even find a running apk
So, as it seems to me, none of these apps support the international version of the S5. And as I am not too eager to strip this phone to the bones and repair the USB hub myself: Do you have other ideas what I could do? I really just want to install LineageOS and get rid of Google
Thank you!

I really have no idea. If those methods, especially King(o)Root, did not work... clueless.
But in any case you could deactivate the OTA update feature of the stock rom, so you will not receive updates. That way you might have a chance that some root app implements an exploit that works in the future as bugs are found.
I just want point out for future reference that CFautoroot by chainfire (https://autoroot.chainfire.eu/) is not an apk but an ODIN flashable package. So still needs a USB connection.
Good Luck!
Hey,
thanks anyways!
I will let that post stand here in case someone in the future runs into the same problem or someone else has the magic solution.
I now decided to just get the USB hub repaired but of course, as it has to be, the display broke and needed repairing too - financially this whole project was not worth it. But I saved a phone

Same here. And the only reason I want to root is for different emojis. All in all this phone is great but having a custom rom would be super nice. I think I might be passing up ZTE on my next upgrade and go with an unlocked LG. Hopefully we will get a holiday surprise?
