[FTF] Newest Android 7.1.1 for Xperia Z5C (E5823) 32.4.A.0.160 - Xperia Z5 Compact General

Hey guys,
Today I upgraded my Z5C to the newest 7.1.1 build via Flashtool. I extracted the files from xperifirm and baked them into a flashable FTF.
Note: This is the Customized Austrialian Version, which comes with 2 uninstallable e-reader-apps and avg protection.
Spotify sadly is not uninstallable.
Security patch is from 1. June 2017 and the Build Nr. is 32.4.A.0.160.
DOWNLOAD-LINK https://mega.nz/#!3QgCUZjC!2owCrYypTA5UwwFkMrOEU-hmmZmR5s2TSZ3tY2agfQE
Installment instructions
1) Download ftf
2) paste it into the flashtools firmware folder (folder name should be ".flashtool")
Note: you need the newest 0.9.23.2 flashtool to flash Nougat FTF's.
3) I recommend you to tick every box when it comes to wiping to ensure a clean install
4) Have Fun with the newest Firmware for the Sony Xperia Z5C
Some changes i noticed:
New Menu-option "Assistant" in Settings
Most of the time 5 CPU Cores are now active (4x A53 + 1x A57 compared to 4x A53 on 7.0)
New Fingerprintmanager UI.
Quicksetting-Tiles max number increased to 6 (from 5)
New Xperia Weather Widget (transparent and new clock style from Xperia XZ)
EDIT: added some screenshots:
you can now change the app layout grid : 3x4, 4x4, 4x5, or 5x5
slightly changed bluetooth symbol and storage symbol in the settings
new assistant provides shortcuts to stamina mode, xperia tips, and the startup guide

Is it going to be available later officially?
Also, it'd be nice if you could post screenshots of the major look n feel changes.
Thanks.

yes, it is an official build, which will roll out to more countries with time.
Check: xpericheck.com (E5823)
I will add screenshots of some ui changes

Temperature?

Dont notice any overheating

Any info about the battery page? Has the functionality of the graph been improved?

Installed this today using Flashtool on my Z5C, no wipe. Everything running smoothly.

Can somebody deodex and or debloat this stock 7.1.1 rom, or maybe tell me how to do this and which tools u use? Fulmics deodexer gives many errors.
I have it working patched with ta poc and rootkernel, rooted with magisk, and safetynet approved. Runs smooth but hate all the bloatware.
Thanks!

Anyone rooted yet?

https://xpericheck.com/device/E5823 finally!!
can wait to reach my contry
btw the grid its not new
i hope it gonna fix most of the bugs
or at least not adding new bugs
update if there new bug\fixes

Yes, just need to use rootkernel. Here is my modded kernel attached. Extract .img from .zip (.img larger than 8mo can't be attached) then flash with flashtool
dm-verify disabled, RIC disabled, TWRP, superuser, DRM fix and busy box.

v12 with sony fix,
then I installed manager 4.3.3 apk and activate hide in settings + reboot.
I didn't drm fix my kernel but injected my device drm keys with ta-poc. I don't know if that makes a difference for safety net?

Here you go, deodex and patched kernel. All credits goes to @TexHuk 3.
All you need is clean .160 firmware on your device, updated apps from playstore, TWRP 3.1.0.

Thanks,

Got the update and now all my icons are rounded. Had a look in settings to change it but couldn't find it, anyone else?

No, you don't need to wipe anything, just do backup and flash deodex zip. Then patched or modded kernel, SuperSU etc.

After the install of your modded kernel I have flashed back magisk v12 modded for Sony, all ok but now SafetyNet Failed: CTS profile mismatch, any idea how to fix this?
Before to install of your modded kernel SafetyNet was ok (green) inside magisk app.
Magisk hide is already activated.
I have tested also magisk v13 beta, same problem.

[STOCK ROM] Xperia Z (C6603) 10.4.1.B.0.101 Rooted init.d & Dual Recovery

STOCK ROM Xperia Z (C6603) 10.4.1.B.0.101 Generic UA (Unbranded Ukraine)
Hi all, this is my first take at creating a flashable zip which I tested and found working on my Unlocked Bootloader Xperia Z (C6603)
Stock ROM uploaded by @smardu http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50203976&postcount=68
Created using @[NUT]'s DIY Guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2307311 to create a flashable zip rooted with SuperSU, init.d & BusyBox built in with @[NUT]'s XZ Dual Recovery v 2.7.62
I have tested it on my Unlocked Bootloader Xperia Z (C6603) and found working. I have NOT tested on Locked Bootloader. If you are willing to try and let me know!
How I updated:
1. Make a nandroid backup just in case
2. Flash the flashable zip using PhilzTouch (only tested using PhilzTouch Recovery) - I am not sure if it will work on other recoveries
3. Once completed, do not restart your phone, power off the phone instead
4. Connect in Flashmode and Flash the Kernel
5. Reboot and once loaded into system, it should start showing Android is upgrading
I did not clear data or cache before flashing and so far it is working fine with me.
I have also included links to @[NUT]'s latest XZ Dual Recovery v 2.7.85-BETA.flashable as well as the working Xposed Installer Framework for 4.3.
DOWNLOADS:
GDrive Links:

KERNEL

CREDITS:
@[NUT] for the DIY Guide and Dual Recovery

Thanks!
tested and it works

I got a weird issue after flashing this rom..when my phone booted up for 1st time i got this repair icon in my screen, with the loading blue bar on the bottom (1st time i see this on my phone)...after a few minutes it booted up normally, but the only issue i got is that i cannot install any app through my file explorer...only through playstore..when i try to install one app through es explorer eg. i get "sorry,no application error".
Also, xposed framework has issues too..i can view my mods and they are applied to my phone, but when i try to update those who need update, xposed is crashing...so i can only use mods that are already installed through my previous rom.
Anyone has any idea what i did or what maybe went wrong?

What ROM were you previously on? Was it Odexed or Deodexed? And did you wipe data/cache/dalvik before flashing or did you dirty flash? Might work if you do a clean install.
OK, i just figured out my mistake...
I did everything from scratch and everything works flawless now..so i can confirm it is working on a locked bootloader..
So for your interest if someone does the same mistake as i did, just when flashing the kernel .ftf don't exclude anything..that caused my issues i think

I was on 4.3 odexed NCB stock, prerooted. I wiped only cache and dalvik before flashing. I messed up my system by trying another flashable rom that failed during flashing, and then i tried this method, zipped flashed fine, but i unchecked everything except kernel when flashing the .tft. Although i reflashed for 2nd time in a row the .tft, system still messed up. So i did everything from the beginning and now it works fine...
Glad i didn't had to wipe my data in the end...
Thanks for this rom/guide
Silly question, I have unlocked the bootloader, I'm using a stock rom with stock kernel, what I need to know is if after I flash the kernel.tft I need to follow the NUT's thread to install the dual recovery? it is already rooted? I'll do it today as soon as I get home so I just need to know that! :good:

No, dualrecovery is integrated in this rom. Also, busybox and supersu fixes are also included, so you only need to flash the rom and the .ftf kernel file.

Backups can be restored on any version, cause in the backup is everything from the system (anyone correct me if I am wrong ;D)
Have to say, after a very long boot animation and app upgrade, nearly 20 mins, the dirty upgrade with the xposed firmware, worked a treat. Had to restart a few times after updating apps and tweeking xposed, as I had it installed before this update. Everything is working brilliantly and its running fast and smooth, with little overheating and looking like decent battery life, compared to rooted 4.4.4 that I was on. Thanks for sharing, much appreciated.

Everything went fine after flashing to 224 and using rootkernel v4.5, but for some reason titanium backup is having problems. I can back up, but cannot restore or freeze apps. Anyone else experiencing this issue??
Edit - rolled back to an older version of titanium and all is working now

This Problem was related to the Play Services under MM and not to the Android System itself, but it was solved a few months ago.
If you want the Maximum out of your battery, use AndroKernel and underclock your device. I make it to two full days now with all eight cores limited to 1,2Ghz which is enough for 90% of everything.

May I know what version of SuperSU you've installed? Reason for asking: I'm on the latest stable (systemless) 2.65 generally working fine, yet at times experience some strange behaviour (e.g. list of Apps with granted root is empty, no logs.).
Is this available on ota for the z3+?
Or via companion?

The biggest change should be the november security patch. I wouldn't expect much more improvements til nougat is out.

Here you go:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B-RIeaM9FQoMd05MU3VUeHEzRzA
It's stock kernel from E5823_32.2.A.5.11_1299-1063_R10C.ftf, repacked with http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z5/development/root-automatic-repack-stock-kernel-dm-t3301605
dm-verity and Sony RIC disabled, includes TWRP and DRM fix but no busybox, SuperSU or xposed. These you have to flash by your own through TWRP.
let me know if it worked for you too.

I'm coming from stock 305 with xposed and Xpower kernel.
I flashed the 5.11 firmware via flashtool (without ticking any wipe from ftf), just after I flashed your kernel and reboot (optimisation) than I rebooted to TWRP, I flashed SR5-SuperSU-v2.78 + xposed-v87-sdk23-arm64 et voilà
All is working like a charm and I have lost nothing from 305 :good:
Same here. Used:
xperifirm downloader
created ftf with flashtool
loaded ftf with flashtool
loaded androplus (41) with fastboot
and supersu with twrp.
Did the same as ric69. worked! nothing lost from 305.
Can the NFC icon in the status bar be cleared in this newest version? From what I've seen, they taken out that option from .305..

All OK here, NFC was off before the upgrade and isn't there in the status bar after. Have you tried adding the setting to the status drop down bar options and turning it off there? NFC for me is still in the wireless and networks setting under the more option.

[Universal][SuperSu][Magisk] UnRoot & ReRoot

Welcome Guys!!!
Whats this thread?
We all know that magisk is a great tool for android. Also, chainfire's supersu is great too. Now, when using Nightly ROMs, we have to flash unroot zip and then the root zip everytime we update our rom.(Not necessary but those who like magisk/supersu have to). Now, I created a zip which will automatically unroot your ROM and flash the magisk/supersu root.
Procedure
Simply flash this zip like any other zip and reboot!
Download
For Nitrogen OS (Normal to Magisk):-Download From Here
For Nitrogen OS (Normal to SuperSu):- Download From Here (Needs Testing)
For Any LineageOS Rooted ROMs (Normal to SuperSu):-Download From Here (Needs Testing)
For Any LineageOS Rooted ROMs (Normal to Magisk):- Download From Here (Needs Testing)
Please post your requests for other unroot and root zips here, if possible, I will make it for sure!!!
Credits
@xyyx For his awesome rom and unroot zip
@topjohnwu For his magisk root
@abhishek987 For providing the updater script code in his RR build. Thanks a lot buddy.
Guys, please hit thanks if I helped, it'll help me a lot

I actually didn't get you? U want me to create a new mod?
Just tested and it works perfectly. Thanks.
I have already flashed unroot and supersu. Will this zip delete supersu or do i need to reflash the rom?

On Google, search for unsu zip. Flash that and then flash this zip.
I flashed the zip without waiting for instructions and I managed to bootloop my device but now i reflashed and it works. How do I get safrtynet? It says CTS something in the app
Can't download the file, website says no mirror found ?
I am sorry, when i tried on chrome it works ?
thanks. i pass the safetynet test and can play pogo. but another carrier app detect root and cannot be use. probably magisk is not perfect but it is better than nothing. lol

1. Open Magisk Manager and activate option 'Magisk Hide'. If it's option already 'On', try 'Off' at first, then again 'On'.
2. If U using SuperSU as superuser app... Use suhide to hide SuperSU visibility for system.
