flashed twrp on the naked phone and installed the backup from this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/help/oxygenos-4-5-1-backup-t3626167 (made a misstake and wiped system).
so device should be stock. no apps installed. real naked phone

I guess you have to wait for the original stock firmware straight from OnePlus and then make a clean flash. If it worked of out the box it should work after original firmware.

dont knowif it worked out of the box. powered on and flashed twrp. but will try a clean flash

Same issue here. Before restore the backup my home key worked very well.

Wait why do you guys erase system? Is it just a habit before installing custom roms. xD I do the same thing. I erase everything except for internal storage.

Well, at least we know that this isn't a hardware problem. We just have to wait for the full zip.

wiping data with the twrp backup solves the problem. home button working now

In my case the "gaming do not disturb" mode was on (I dont know how ... ) anyway if you have the same issue you can go to Settings->Advanced->Gaming Do Not Disturb and uncheck Lock Buttons.

[Q] Reboot Button problem

OK, I'd appreciate some help here. I Just downloaded Zenmaster's Reboot button app. I probably made a mistake by going to ROM manager and its install from SD card option.
The install started out fine, but just stalled at installing update. Left it there for 30 minutes.
I did a battery pull and the phone went into recovery except it says at the bottom of the screen:
E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk01p1
(Invalid Arguement)
#MANUAL MODE#
The upper screen has the typical
reboot system now
Apply sdcard...
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
Nothing happens with either reboot system now or apply from sdcard
So I really would appreciate...what now.
Are you rooted? Do you have Clockwork Recovery installed?
Are you hitting the "Home" soft button key on the Reboot option? That's the "Enter" key for the stock recovery screen, not the Power button like it is for Clockwork.

Thanks for your response.
Yes I'm rooted and yes I have CWM.
This is embarrassing now, because I WAS NOT hitting the home button, which I should have known to do, but obviously forgot. Did that and I'm back up. Old Droid habits die hard I guess.
My apologies for using up bandwidth and thank you again.

Yeah, that's not gonna work. The app is a .apk file, which gets installed via adb or Root Manager/Astro. It's not a flashable zip.
It's also now available on the market .

Bonus. That is fantastic news.
Well naming the .zip to .apk worked and Reboot Button worked. Sort of. I think what happened here was no fault of the app, but something related to the relationship between my phone and voodoo. I had never seen any particular problem on my phone, but I just wanted a way to disable the thing as I was contemplating flashing jt's ROM.
Well the disabling of voodo lost root on my phone. I use Launcher Pro and that was gone too. So I tried reinstalling that and entered a force close loop from hell. After installing the LP, the phone regressed to the same opening screen it had when out of the box, different from the static wallpaper I had.
There is a thread on this here:
http://forum.androidcentral.com/fascinate-roms-hacks/38029-how-escape-force-close-loop-hell.html
I followed that and got back to the out of the box Fascinate state. Only part of my apps, and not all of the paid ones showed up in Market, even after an overnight wait. The significant missing one is Documents to Go.
There was 0.00 space left on internal memory, so I did a factory reset.
This would not be a big deal, BUT the phone will not root, so I can't use Titanium Backup to restore stuff. The Samsung Drivers are installed, the USB cable is the one that came with the phone, and the computer recognizes the device. However, Odin seems to think the device is not connected.
So, I'm not sure what is going on with this phone of mine. Again, I don't think it is the app.
Edit; All is back to normal

Great minds think alike. Hopefully that was his only problem. I have to say though, there's something pretty funny about someone thinking their phone is bricked because they're using the wrong button to make selections in recovery! I'm not making fun of anyone, but it does make my chuckle a little.

Wipe each item once. I think the new recoveries wipe everything when you select 'data', but do the other items just to be sure. Dalvik-Cache is under the Advanced section.

Hi thanks a lot for your help. Your Track pad solution is golden. My phone is working now. Take care and keep helping people
Glad I could help.
Haha I feel for you OP I had this problem at first (came from an EVO didn't have a trackpad) so I was confused. Didn't take much before I realized it was the trackpad inside. My new problem is my trackpad broke lol. So now I can't select anything (in the OS or in the Recovery) somehow I got the power button to work one time while I was in recovery (little white writing even came up like it does when you flash a rom that said "power button select enabled") never got this to happen again though, any ideas?

[Q] CM7 home button

I was wondering if there was a way to change the home button from holding the power button and selecting home to just tapping the power button and having that serve as the home button.
Furthermore, is there a way to changed launchers in CM7?

Has anyone thought of taking the ICS virtual buttons and porting them into CM7?

That's strange. Maybe go into Recovery and clear cache and Dalvik-cache? You're using CM7, correct?
I'm using CM7 as well, and flash installed fine for me. Just make sure to do a Delvik/Cache wipe AFTER you install the ROM, and you *should* be fine.
As far as launchers go, definately check out GO Launcher EX v2.71. Its not available in the market yet, just off their website, but its made specifically for 7 and 10 inch tablets.

Wow, that is definitely odd. I have two KFs, both on CM7, and both installed Flash Player straight from the market without hesitation.

Seems to be quite a few little quirks and bugs that happen to some and not others. I'm sure as the roms and devs get going the bugs will be fewer.

Bricked?

Well, without thinking I took the OTA. Then I realized I had root. Now I get the Android character with an exclamation point. I can't seem to get into recovery. At this point, I don't care if I'm rooted or not. I just want my tablet back. Suggestions?

That shouldn't be it. What error does it give you when you try to update? It will say what is keeping it from updating. If you have deleted/uninstalled and system apps (not just disabled), the update will fail. It's hard to diagnose without more info.
There was no error that I saw. I just tried looking for the 4.4.3 update and it won't come back. I guess I'll need to wait... Thanks again for your help.

Since 4.4.4 is already out, why don't you just fastboot flash everything EXCEPT USERDATA from the 4.4.4 factory image. As long as you don't flash userdata, your data will remain intact.
EDIT: Oh. For future reference, the OTAs are downloaded to /cache on your device.

[VIDEO] Oneplus 2 Home Button completely Dead !

My Home button of the OPT is not giving signs of life. I got the OPT yesterday and it worked but after a clean install it stopped working.
It doesn't do Home Button Taks nor it reads fingerprints. It is simply DEAD! Help me please????
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6ro4YtWwrw
I went through a process of rooting, however I'm still not rooted because no point of rooting if I have this problem.
Here's what happened:
After I unlocked the bootloader and flash TWRP, I went to TWRP and by mistake I wiped system as well. I was so nervous that I ended up wiping: System + Data + Dalvik + Cache + SD Card.
So after I had wiped everything off OPT, of course I had to download and flash manually Oxygen OS ! After I flashed it I set up the phone normally through Setup Wizard and when I was going to configure the Fingerprint, that's when it didn't work anymore. So, everything in the phone is working properly except for the Home Button.
So, do you think it could have anything to do with factory reset + System + SD Card and flashing Oxygen OS again? How could that damage the Home Button ALL functionalities? If not, read the final part of this thread:
The buttons on left and right of the Home Button work properly !
I followed these two Sticky Threads:
---> https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/oneplus-2-stock-rom-collection-updated-01-09.347627/
---> https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...-custom-recovery-root-efs-backup-more.345478/
I have a theory which might help someone who reads this tell me if it could be it:
So, my OPT came with Oxygen OS 2.0.3 and as I wiped the system, I had to flash a ROM again. However it is only available Oxygen 2.0.2 in the Internet to download, which leads me to think that it was a firmware downgrade which led to this problem. Could this be it?
I am trying to solve this for 17 hours ! Please, if you have any idea how to help me, do not hesitate.
Thanks in advance for all of those who are reading this until the end and even more thanks to the ones replying to this thread !
This could really be due to a driver problem.
They may use different fingerprint readers on several devices.
Have you contacted the Oneplus support yet?

I have. But it will take many days, I wish I could fix it asap. So, I guess if it is a driver problem, clean flashing, etc will not do anything ever right?

Facing the same problem. Wasnt flashing one rom over other. Was on hydrogen OS for about 10 days now. Any true solutions to this problem? Does the above solution work?
I've got the same issue starting today. I'm on OxygenOS 2.1.1 with root.
Going back to stock without root to see if it fixes it but I think it's gotta be a hardware issue. Has anyone gone through the RMA process with OnePlus?
