question about the GPS on OP 5 - OnePlus 5 Questions & Answers

since this phone has the SD 835, does this phone work with Galileo GPS?
can anyone test this out once they get theirs?
if this isn't enabled could it be enabled in a custom rom?
thanks in advance

AGPS - Australia

Hi,
Using a Dopod 810 / HTC Trinity and have upgraded to the official WM6 ROM.
So far so good. Still a battery drainer but not as much as the cooked ROMS.
I am finding my GPS takes a bit of time to lock onto sattelites. So....
a. Does the HTC Trinity support AGPS
b. Does the Australian 3 network support AGPS (I believe it does as it works on the Nokia N95)
c. If so, how do I activate AGPS on the device with this latest ROM
Would love some help.
Cheers,
Jeff
Sorry, this thread is a little old but I would like to bump it as I am looking for answers to exactly the same questions.
Mostly interested in how to enable AGPS on the HTC Trinity.
Thanks for any info!
Same here..
it would be helpfull for me too...
i tried a app which is lying around somewhere in the forum that supposed to download some nav data through internet and work as agps..but sadly it doesn't worked for me..

It does not work for everybody, not only for you .
All the programs you may find on the web are token from other devices like Kaiser and Polaris (Qualcomm GPSone MSM7200), or like Artemis and Eten devices (Sirf Star) ... and I never read somewhere that one of them worked correctly for the Trinity (Qualcomm GPS ONE MSM6275)
--> Actually (and perhaps never), No AGPS solution for Trinity.
The MSM6275 definitely supports AGPS, that is what the gpsONE at the end means. I've been trying to look stuff up but most of the data was on cdmatech.com which now just redirects to the qualcomm homepage no matter where you navigate and the qualcomm site has nothing of use there! Very annoying.
So is AGPS definitely not supported on trinity?
Is it supported on any HTC device?

It is possible to enable GPS via a ROM update.
There is a thread here on ROM updates, of which some include GPS upgrades.

Sprint PPC-6700 GPS

I have an old apache on sprint. Does it have GPS chip? Or Agps? I plan to flash it to 6.5 and use it as gps device.
Sorry for creating new thread. Found the answer:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=353913
enough already
Aside from myself has anybody else taken the time to look inside this phone to see if it has a gps chip? It has a msm6500 which DOES have gpsone!! I decided not to give up looking for a solution for this issue and I found one. Please see my post called "gps working on xv6700". It seems that by using a moddriver from skyhook the gpsone nmea info can be utilized. This works totally off network! I will provide screenshots and more detail if any interest.

GPS Problems

Hi to all
Can someone help me to fix gps on T-Mobile HD2 LEO.
When I try to use it it can't find ant satellites.
Is there any tools to test gps connections or something like that?
Regards
Are you using the stock ROM? If so, I would upgrade to a custom ROM...seems to have fixed it for alot of people.
