"Current software is up to date" when it isn't - J320A - Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) Questions & Answers

Hello
I've got a Samsung Galaxy Express Prime from AT&T (J320A).
The current soft. version is J320AUCU1APC9, whereas the newest available is J320AUCU2AQC1, and there were 2 versions in between
https://www.att.com/devicehowto/tut...1137402?make=Samsung&model=GalaxyExpressprime
When checking for updates it shows up "Current software is up to date", when it isn't.
How to fix it ?
Thanks,

[Q] Update

I purchased an unlocked European Samsung Galaxy Tab. I tried both Verizon and ATT, but they took too much out of the product, so I returned them. I use my ATT sim and that works good.
I read that there was an update released for this phone. I have tried using a proxy to place my computer in the UK, alas Kies says "This version of the device cannot be updated"
Current firmware version : PDA:JJ3 / PHONE:JID / CSC:JJ2 (TMN)
In the registry I get :
Product code = GT-P1000CWATMN
SoftwareRevision = P1000XWJJ3/P1000OXXJJ2/P1000XXJID/P1000XWJJ3
My question is there a way I haven't thought of to get the update?
and what product do I actually have? (maybe I picked the wrong country to proxy)
Does Samsung not update the unlocked phones they have to sell in Europe?
Tried fooling Kies with info from the threads here, but I could not get that to work. Even loaded older versions of Kies.
I am new to this. Thanks for your time.

My AT&T Galaxy Camera is getting an update

It is taking forever to download, so perhaps this is the long awaited 4.1.2 update for AT&T model cameras in the USA. Wireshark shows it downloading something big from 66.114.52.19 which apparently has the highly descriptive name h0-s19.p1-iad.cdngp.net and appears to be owned by the "global cloud provider" cdnetworks (which would make sense, I suppose).
And it finished updating at last. It does indeed say it is android version 4.1.2, baseband version GC100UCAMD4, kernel version 3.0.31-1143513, build number JZ054K.GC100UCAMD4. Now I can finally try the samsumg remote camera app to see how well it works.

[Q] How do I change the baseband version on my Galaxy S5?

Hi,
I've just found out that my baseband version is for the Taiwanese market (G900IZTU1BOA1).
How can I change the baseband version to G900IDVU1ANE1?
I need it to be changed, as I otherwise can't use NFC here in Australia.

The baseband version should have nothing to do with the ability to use NFC.

Hi AMoosa, this was on the Westpac Mobile Payments site:
How do I set up mobile payments on my mobile?
On your Westpac Mobile Banking App home screen, tap the ‘Pay’ button and follow the screen prompts to set up your eligible cards for mobile payments
For the Samsung Galaxy S5, you will need to have the latest version of the 'Android KitKat' firmware on your phone. You can find out by checking the 'Baseband version' field in the 'About device' options in your phone 'Settings'
For ‘Pay’ to be enabled on your Samsung Galaxy S5, this 'Baseband version' must be 'G900IDVU1ANE1'
This new Android KitKat firmware was made available for Samsung Open, Optus, Telstra and Vodafone Galaxy S5 devices from Tuesday, June 10th 2014
If your Galaxy S5 does not currently have the 'G900IDVU1ANE1' version of the 'Android KitKat' firmware, check the 'Software update' section in the 'About device' options in your phone settings.
There's 2nd massive list of firmware to download here

Just use one of them.

Try the "Verizon Software Updater" (VSU) program... You should be able to update it easily.
To find the VSU:
1. Connect your phone to a PC/Mac via USB.
2. Change the "USB Mode" to "Software Installation".
3. Launch the EXE file that you see (on your phone) on your PC & complete installation.

Samsung S8 , there's an internal error + keyboard cover isn't detectd

hi..
i just bought a new 950F s8 phone as the first thing i see is "there's an internal problem with your device"
on top of that my keyboard cover doesn't seem to be detected .
i also can't do an OTA as i'm getting "your current software version isn't supported"
i had a look around i think all these might be related to the rom, it's PIE.
the build number starts with PPR.180610.011.G950FXXU3DSC7 and ends with DSC7
so is it possible my rom isn't compatible with my country? (it's actually purchased locally)
can i install a new rom from pie 9 that will match?
is it possible that i could remain unrooted so i could play ingress (which detects rooted devices)
