[Q] Droid Pro Forum = Droid Pro Plus Forum ???

Hi guys,
I just bough a European Droid Pro Plus and wondered why there isnt a forum for the phone. Eventually it runs a newer Software than the Droid Pro and has other hardware too.
Ive been seeking for a root method for the Pro Plus and finally found this forum but Im not that sure if its about the Droid Pro only or the Pro Plus too.
I also searched the forum for a root method but it seemed that there isnt one for the Pro Plus, or am I wrong?
Thanks for your help.

Root Motorola Pro+
Hi threepointfive/Leo,
I don't know if you already found a solution, anyway to root my Motorola Pro+ I used SuperOneClick 2.3.3
http://shortfuse.org/?page_id=2
I've root it with 2.3.5 Version and then I've root it again after 2.3.6 OTA update.
At the moment there is only the Motorola Pro forum, inside it there is this thread where people try to keep toghether all the information about Pro+
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1375734
Finally, you can go to this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1375734 and vote in order to have, in the future, a separate forum for your smartphone.

Blu Studio X Root and Custom Recoveries/ROMs

Hey all! I'm new to XDA. I am looking at the Blu Studio X to use with Straight Talk. I am wanting to know if there is any way you can root the phone, one click (or tap), or if I have to go into my PC and do it. I had a Moto G through Boost Mobile a while back and I didn't know about Kingroot at the time, so I had to use my PC to unlock the bootloader, etc. so I know how to do that kinda stuff. But anyways, I just want to know if I can root my new phone permanently, and if there are any custom ROMs (Like CM12) OR any Custom Recoveries (TWRP or CWM) I would also like to know how to make my own builds. So if anyone is available to teach me how to make my own ROMs or builds for recoveries, message me please. All help is welcome. Feel free to post other questions to this thread also. Once I have the phone, I will try my hardest to help other people with their issues/concerns about the phone. Thanks!:good:
I don't know if you care anymore, from what I've heard, there is no custom ROM for the Studio X, but someone has made a port of TWRP on the Google + community for BLU Development. The only bad thing is that it doesn't have touch when you boot into TWRP, so I don't know how to move around unless you use TWRP manager or something. You can root with Kingoroot, Kingroot (if you don't want a custom recovery), or Towelroot for some lucky devices. I wish someone made a community for this on XDA because it is such a great phone for the price and design! I'm getting one soon to replace my 1st generation Galaxy Note.
Good luck!

Android wear for kitkat 4.4.4

I bought moto 360 v2
I have galaxy grand neo which support kitkat 4.4.4.
I cant download android wear from appStore , it says not compatible.
so to check notification on moto 360 v2?
Perhaps you should install a custom ROM on your galaxy grand neo that is based on 5.1.1 or 6.0.1. that is probably the only thing you can do. Or buy a new phone.
Sent from my Nexus 5X using XDA-Developers mobile app
According to Google's FAQ page, https://support.google.com/androidwear/answer/6056390?hl=en Android 4.3 or higher and Bluetooth are required. It sounds like your problem is that the Play Store won't let you download it. Maybe you can find somewhere else to download it from.

Best way to upgrade 7.0 to 8.1

What's the best, easiest way to upgrade manually from Android 7.0 to Oreo 8.1? I'm not getting OTG with 7.0, so I need to try something else without having to buy a new phone. I just spent money to have the charging port fixed, don't want to switch phones again, but need this feature. Thanks!

Which Kinzie phone do you have, Moto X Force or Droid Turbo 2?
You can root the Moto X force and there are some custom roms but not Oreo 8.1, I don't think. You cannot root Droid Turbo 2 at all.
Neither phone got past Nougat for stock firmware.

Oh Dang!! I have the Droid Turbo 2. So when I'm on YouTube and they're showing those videos that say "How to upgrade ANY Android phone to Oreo 8.1" they're not talking about DT2? What would happen if I tried it? Has anyone done it? Just curious. I'm thinking about getting a Moto G5 Plus if I can't upgrade. This one DEFINITELY has 8.1, correct?
Thanks for your replies!

No, if the phone can't be rooted (2015 "Kinzie" Droid Turbo 2) you can only use stock firmware.
If the phone can be rooted (2015 "Kinzie" Moto X Force), you're still dependent on what devs can and will do. The devs with the kernel skills needed to adapt last Kinzie Nougat stock kernel to run on Oreo 8.1 - - which then allows ROMs to be ported - - may wish to spend time on other devices.
The 2014 "Quark" (Droid Turbo/Moto Maxx/Moto Turbo) all have bootloader unlock and root, and they have a dev with those skills. So they have 8.1 ROMs, whikethr 2015 Kinzie phones do not.

All the QUARK ROMS are compatible with all Quarks.

Thanks for that education! I've been schooled, lol! OK, I guess I'm going for the Moto G5 Plus. I'm not happy with Nougat at all!

Best option currently for Fire HD 8 5th Gen (2015)?

Hey guys,
I'm a complete noob here.
Recently was handed an Amazon Fire HD 8 2015. It had Fire OS 5.1.2 installed, and I didn't know anything about it, so when I first connected on my wifi network it updated to the latest (AFAIK) Fire OS 5.3.6.4 (5.6.3.0?).
I really want to install a custom ROM, but as far as my reading in this forum allowed me to know, this isn't possible at the moment? So I guess it never will, as this is an older model, and as it seems it wasn't very popular?
So, considering all that, what are my best options to make this thing more usable? Right now it's very sluggish. Even if it's main purpose is for reading PDF files, and browsing the web also mainly for reading news and stuff.
It seems like the RAM is the main culprit with the stock software? Would changing the launcher help?
Also, is it possible to root it with this firmware? What about TWRP?
I'm really looking for help on what's possible to hack in this model with the latest firmware. Most of what I read is directed to the Fire 7 model, and I'm never sure if the methods presented in many posts will brick my Fire HD 8.
Really appreciate any help.
TIA!

As for 5th gen support and compatibility you'll likely find little material. Not a popular variant. It's possible some of the exploits aimed at 6-8th gen models and even the Fire 7 5/7th gen will work. You'll need to read, digest, try what seems viable and hope for the best. Good luck.
