I have found a i9000. I have tried to find the owner but cant as it has a pettern lock. I took it to the copshop and they gave me it back a fortnight later as no one went to claim it. As i would like to use the phone how would i remove the pattern lock. Without having to sit for days tryin to guess lol

Take it to an outlet for whatever the network it is connected to. It will say at top right of lock screen and on the sim of course.
It has no sim card so i couldnt tell which network it is on. It is unlocked because its open to any sim. Iv tried different sims and they show the provider in the corner

just root the phone/update firmware on it, which should allow you to factory reset it.
factory reset, through recovery will get rid of the lock pattern.
edit: I believe you don't need to flash anything. Power on device holding the Volume Up + Home + Power button
Thanks guys ill give it a try

Not so sure about that. If it is reported lost or stolen then the IMEI will be blocked and all that it will be useful for is a MP3 player. Hence my advice to go to a network shop. Any one will help and check the phone is not blocked.

you're right. that's why this is the right place, because of advices like yours
I feel sorry for the owner that lost the phone, and did not report the IMEI as being lost or stolen...
that'll be my very 2nd phone call if i lose my phone
the 1st phone call will be used to located the lost phone
Flash a new ROM But you can give it a factory reset (hold VOL UP + HOME + POWER buttons for a few seconds)
Offtopic:
I would find a SGS too
it's weird how many people "Find" SGS lately...
Honestly, on an etiquette POV, I wouldn't help anyone who "found" an SGS to unlock it... But rather help him find the owner.
thats what i was thinking...glad its not mine
I have spent nearly three weeks trying to find the owner. i handed it in to the police station but got it back two weeks later because it didnt get claimed. Which you would know if you read the earlier posts in the thread. If i lost my phone i would check the police to see if it had been handed in like most ppl who are bothered bout there phone. What does that tell you?

Ok, keep the peace, maybe a shot of police paperwork would help put peoples concerns to rest, just a peace keeping suggestion

Locked Out

Hi!
I need help bypassing the pattern Lock!
Short story:
ordert the phone from amazon. didn't arrive in time. one day after estimated delivery date the parcel lies opend in front of the door. phone with inserted battery is still in it. all the stuff like charging or earphones is missing.
went to police and so on. for the fun of it i started the phone to look if the thief maybe made some photos or sent some messages before "returning" it. problem: he enabled a pattern lock. now i see no possibility to look if he/she maybe did something stupid like writing a message or taking a photo. i want to get that stupid kid (has to be a neighbor) ...
so maybe someone can answer here or write a pm ...
i DO NOT want to do a factory reset. i want to get to the last calls and messages!!!
thx in advance and excuse my bad english
Strange story. I would contact the post office or company that delivered the phone. Not sure what country your from but in my country it's not legal for postal service to just leave a parcel at the doorstep.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
alreday went to the post office and the police. amazon didn't send t as a real parcel, more like a letter, therefore it wasnt insured. the posal service didn't leave it in front of the door. it was stolen out of a mailbag and then, a day later, returned to us ... we don't understand it ... we hope amazon will send us a new one, but i want to find out who did that!!!

my thoughts exactly - why should there even have been a sim card in the phone when it's sent from amazon
Who steal packages from the mailbag, take out the cheap stuff and deliver the most expensive piece to the recipient a day later?
I call BS.
ya +2 on tht ?lol leaving the phone an taking the ear phones sounds negative.....well the pattern locks r easy to open try all combination of 3x3x3 its simple , not thoughp like rubiks cube...
our only explanation:
neighbor kid stole it, parents found out, kid 'gave it back' or kid got scared ... no idea ...
it all just sucks ... i would wish to find out who was it to understand that stupid person ...
Sounds to me more like you 'found' someone else's phone and are trying to get into it. But giving you the benefit of the doubt ...
Hold the screen at an angle to a light source and look for a greasy finger streak where the lock pattern has been sketched.
if i would have found it, i think i would have had better stories
tried some of the bypasses i found on the web, seems that most of the security holes are fixed (gj samsung )
Amazon already answered that they send a new one.
Only reason why i want into it, is to find hints who stole it in the first place.
If i would have "found" it i would just make a hard reset.
People give the kid a break come on now, its not funny when UPS,TNT etc get lost on their delivery runs. The driver delivering this package got lost their satnav crashed their mobile fone went dead and you know what, they took their sim card out of their fone and opend this package placed their sim card in this SGS2 just to use the GOOGLE maps just so you could have you fone. Now thats service with a smile lol

lmao. what a funny thread.
To the OP, grab her itemised bill instead and save urself the hasle of trying to bypass the pattern lock. lol
If youre story is genuine on the other hand, just be happy ur getting a replacement. Sell the locked one to me, give you £100 for it.
Try this.
Put another sim in it. Call that number. Answer it. While still in the call press the back or home button. You should now be on the home screen. You should also be able to check call logs / messages etc.
I did this on a friends S1 when their kid locked them out of the phone due to too many pattern attempts.
Not sure if it will work on the S2 but worth a try.

Purchased a Dev Edition that cannot be unlocked

Wow what a wonderful evening. Decided to unlock my bootloader on my VZW Dev Edition tonight. The Motorola Unlock website keeps telling me that my device is ineligible. I start a live chat and they tell me based on IMEI that my device does not qualify. Then they look up my order (from motorola.com) and they find out that my device IS a dev edition. He then tells me that my software has been modified. WTF! I just got this thing and haven't even unlocked the bootloader! Fastboot reports that it's locked! I am then told to contact them tomorrow to talk to Tier 2 Support. I am beyond angry at this moment...
Return it if you just got it and order another.

Complete moto support noobs
It takes a few days for moto to have your imei registered on their system, I think there might be 100 threads with the same issue, it just takes time.

I would suggest just calming down and go thorough with the tech support. While it's quite frustrating, it was just a bug in the system. Being frustrated and angry will only make you mad, and will not achive anything. When you talk to support, if you are mad they are much less likely to help you. Your problem will be resolved, but likely there is nobody here who can help. Just talk to Motorola and it will be fixed. Hardware defects happen all the time. It is just a software bug.
If you do get an unlock code, you could post it here and maybe we can find the formula to get the codes for unlockable imeis. Just a stab in the dark, but worth a try.

You have to be logged into the Gmail account that was used to purchase the device.
Tech Level 2 won't know what to do. You will need Tech Level 3 if this problem continues.

OK, well then I would tell Tech Level 2 to escalate it because it takes a few days for Tech Level 3 to call you back. You can try waiting a few days for the IMEI to make it into the unlock database, too, but I wouldn't wait more than 1 week from the ship date before pestering them to get on it.

Tech Level 2 just told me this exact thing I was surprised. She knew what she was talking about. She still escalated it to Level 3 for me however. Let's hope in a few days it will just be unlock able.
Just keep trying the unlock page. Its always been wonky. Many people tried over and over and then it just works. Be sure you're typing in your string properly....exactly the way it says to.

Wait. The X is tied to the account it was bought with? It's the first time I've heard of that and I just ordered mines through a friend's account because I don't own a credit card. Is this mentioned anywhere officially? Wow that sucks.

No its not linked to the same account. I bought mine on eBay and was able to unlock it. Just make sure that the account linked to your phone - the account shown where you have the quick toggles on the status bar is the one used when try to unlock it.
I had a few problems because I didn't realize that there were spaces when I pasted it into box. Just copy it into a word document and remove the spaces. Then paste into the section and the unlock request button will show at the very bottom of the page.

So it arrived! I'm now a very happy Moto X (Dev Edition) owner. And exactly as you said it's only linked to the account it's currently signed in with.

[Q] HELP! bypass lock screen info??

My friend gave me a Note 3 of his for free before he left to thailand (he was helping me out because mine took a drink). So I was sooooooooooo excited to get off this lame nexus s. Problem is he has a passcode unlock and he didn't tell me it. He will be gone for 6 months and I don't know when or if I will be in contact with him (he's there for work). So my question is :
How do you take the passcode off the phone so I can use it for myself? I tried flashing the stock Samsung firmware from sammobile, and it worked like a dream, but it STILL has the passcode. This is such a headache I was really excited to have a good phone once again
if anyone could help me out this would be GREATLY appreciated, it's stressing me the hell out!!!
I dont know how to bypass the lock screen, and it may be illegal
But FYI, the Note 3 has 26 partitions, but when you flash the stock firmware, only 12 partitions have been flash. So the rest of partitions may store the passcode...

Put the phone into stock or custom recovery, whichever you have and then
do a "Factory Data Reset" and reboot the phone.
Once that's done you will no longer have problems with lock screen.
But you will need to add your own gmail account and so on.
Good luck!

Nexus 6P locked NEED HELP FAST!

Kay so i have a problem with my Nexus 6P
Let me tell you the story
Since the update from 6.0.1
I had battery problems like the most of the people..
So i decided to make a backup on my google account and reset it. I was dumb, and lazy and i just entered some random things in registering email etc like [email protected]om
Then it wasnt fixed. But i wanted to go back to my old account, so i resetted it again.
This time he askes me this: his device was reset. To continue, sign in with a Google Account that was previously synced on this device.
I dont know the account anymore, so i'm probably ****ed. I tried my setup account i've used when i configured it. I did make a call to google, but due connection problems i couldnt understand what he was saying lol..
He sayed that this can be fixed in 72h ( dafuq so long without my phone i'll die )But there is also a chance it wouldnt. So he said if that doesnt solve it i need to go back to the shop where i buyed it. I have proof of purchase etc. I just dont want to leave my phone for 4weeks alone lol.. Im pretty addicted to this..
I'll just use my OnePlus One tho..
Anyone that had this in the past? I need some serious help.. I've ****ed it up probably..

I am not sure if I am understanding what happened exactly....
Why exactly did you set your phone up with a google account that you don't know the password to? Why would the account you are logged into the phone with change any issues with the phone?
I apologize in advance, but, I am always a little weary of someone just asking for help unlocking a phone.
I would be willing to help, but I need a little more insight and exact details on how you got into this predicament.
Again, no offense meant, this just looks funny to me.

Your post makes no sense. There are no battery problems with this phone, and there is no way to sign into a Google account unless you have the password for it. Do not tinker with your phone unless you know what you're doing.

who registers a bogus account to their phone?
I know XDA'ers do a lot of dumb things sometimes, but even this makes absolutely no sense. I smell dried cod.
Hey guys, I'm (somewhat) new!
I'm going to buy a Nexus 9P used today from a guy I don't know. The phone is supposedly in as new condition and the first thing I plan to do with it is a reset, then logging using my regular account.
Will I risk ending up in the same situation as the OP? What is the security process for Android account? Why would it lock me out if the phone has not been flagged as stolen? I've never bought an Android phone used before, especially with Marshmallow encrypting the FS I'm starting to worry!
Thanks to whoever can tell me if I risk running into problems and how to avoid them!
have him turn it on in front of you and make sure the phone boots up into android
play with it a bit.. look for cracks, etc. if youre forking over that kind of cash, you do a fairly thorough inspection.
Yeah thanks, I'll inspect it closely. Thing is, I'll not be able to put in my SIM immediately, (upgrading from a One M7, I have a micro SIM when the 6P requires a nano) so I'll be without Internet connection when I make the purchase decision. Is there a risk from the software security point of view?

shouldnt be... just ask him to leave his SIM in until you test the phone.
If he starts acting squeemish, or makes excuses for simple requests, I wouldnt touch the phone
Thanks everyone for the replies tho.
I dont understand why i did it.. But i needed to go, and i wanted to use my phone. So i maked a fast new account. Is there any chance that it will be unlocked tomorrow (72H will ben passed on friday) I dont know im truly new with this kind of security.
I had expierence with rooting, unlocking bootloader. But i dont want to risk this on my 6P since i can say byebye to warranty then. And this still is under warranty (i think so). I just dont want to wait 4weeks since it needs to be sended to Huawei and not to Google. It will take ages till i have my phone back.. Atleast if i'm lucky i can use my phone tomorrow. Anyone knows if i can use it tomorrow again?
This was a stupid move. ideed.. I'm feeling me bad due this lol
Everything seems to be working fine. I had the guy use his data connection to check out of his Google account and let me check in with mine. After that I did a factory reset and now I'm updating and installing apps.
Thanks for the help and sorry I have derailed the thread. I'm the (so far) happy owner of a Nexus 6P. Heading to the rooting guides next

ok, I tried. If you don't know your google password and can't recover it using "forgot my password" then its not your phone, if you were actually experienced in rooting and flashing then you would have solved this problem already. Sorry but a moderator needs to shut this thread down please.
If some how I have mistaken this I am sorry but you contradict yourself and make claims that are obviously not true based on the sentences that follow the statements your making. If it really is your phone then take your proof of purchase and walk in to any cellphone repair store.

No worries, this thread needed derailed! I recommend Heisenberg's guide (found on xda) and the Nexus Root Toolkit (NRT) by WugFresh (I believe also has a thread in development now) for the driver check process, it will make sure you have no conflicting drivers installed. Have fun!

ok, I tried.

Wtf is this for a forum even.. You can think it can be stolen, but i can get every proof on the table its mine. It looks not very truthfull. But all i ask is for a little bit of help. I've worked hard for this phone, since i do only a vacation job. You can think what you want, if you believe me or not. But i need help. And yeah, i know that it will probably fixed with flashing a new rom because this isnt caused by a hardware unit. I just dont wanna risk my warranty and not this time, becaus if i **** it up i can say byebye to this great phone.
Anyways thanks you'd tried to help.. But it makes no sense that you think this is stolen. As i said, i'll do that. But i dont want to lose my phone 4 weeks. Maybe in your country you have some nerd asses that fixes phones. But me and my friends have bad experience with them. They ****ed up some of my friends phones, and just said it wasnt her fault. Closed, they couldnt do anything with their phones. I tought you guys could tell me more about that 3-day limit. But you actually dont know what you are saying. You are just joking yourself this one is stolen. And so what? If its stolen would that forces you to not help people? I can show you everything this one is not stolen.
Anyways somebody that can help me, and answer my question?

Again, password recovery through google. How many times should I type it? There is also a username recovery option. You seriously gonna sit here and tell me that you can't answer any of the details about your account via any of the recovery options!?!?
No, I am not sorry. Why would you care about your warranty if you can't survive 72 hours without your phone!?!?
Nothing your saying makes sense at all. I am done responding to you, think what you want but after 10.5 in the private sector as a PMC (private military contractor), you are full of it.
I hope that no one on this forum helps this guy get into someone else's account, if they have android pay then this guy gets their credit card info, this could really screw someone over.
Google has in place proven and effective ways to get your username and password back if its really your account.
Moderator's please step in!

Oh wait, i'll show you some more proof
i.imgur.com/Bg4vK9l.png
Enough like that? Or need more? Just in case anyone that would like to help me this is proof it isnt stolen. And its actually mine.
And again, if you cant read. I've filled in an random email and an password. What can i do if i even dont know the email? I didnt setup a alternative email adres. I screwed it up. But that doesnt give you the right to say it is stolen. If i worked even harder for it then you will ever do in your life. Grow up kid, you're just here to make some fun, i'm looking for some guys that are here to help people. If you cant help people then just leave. You have like 6 posts and you're saying "mods here mods there" wtf men? I'm new here too. But i don't feel me like i'm the boss here. I'm here to help people and i hope there a people that want to help me. And not like this dumbass

First off nobody said its stolen secondly I have never seen google ask for the last account used when setting up a phone. It asks for the Google you intend to use for the phone. Honestly from what it sounds like since you didn't properly setup the google account you most likely will have to make a new one or call google and set on the phone with them until they can locate and figure the password but if you cannot provide sufficient information about the account they will not help you. Hopefully this will help and just so you know we cannot see or use any link you put up due to limitations per xda rules

I have, when I borked my friends phone I used Wugs toolkit to just reflash everything and then it asks what the ladt account was. Basically a security check from google for people who like to steal phones and just fastboot them. Makes complete sense and I love it. Makes for funny moments when people forget passwords.
But none of this adds up. HOW on gods green earth have you "unlocked phones" before but mysteriously don't have a previous google account. Hmm...
Nope, none of this adds up at all...this is all wrong.

Well yes, obviously. Because if it is/was stolen why would anyone want to help you use stolen property when next time it cound be their phone that is stolen?
Also, what do you expect the shop to do for you? I dont really see why you dont just set it up with a new google account rather than keep trying to get into one you obviously wont use.
