You can try Pure Nexus

Man, this is very personal, there is no such thing as the best rom for such a device.
Download, install and test.
I for example have already used RR, AICP, CR and now I am using AOKP.
Is AOKP better? No!
I got acquainted with this rom and that's it!

Take a look at this thread, maybe help your decision.

¿Perfect rom ver for you guys?

Hey all,
i bought an S4 i9500 like 1 month ago..it said android kk on box but it has L installed(weird thing)
im just wondering..what is best for performance, heat, daily use for our phone?
KK or L (i know MM is out there but it is just a baby for our phone)
the thing is, with L it is nice but heats a lot on heavy task...don't know about Kk on this phone..never use it :/
i know L is really good looking( CM not fking touchwiz) but maybe KK is lighter and faster
pls let me know your opinions
btw KK have memory leak?
I don't know if KK is really faster than LP, but MM sure is faster.
Hi, in my opinion, JDCTeam AOSP 5.1.1 is the best one.

Slimrom

Guys look like official slim rom is available for Bullhead.
https://slimroms.org/#/device/bullhead
Edit-1: Nice boot animation
It looks really good. I hope author will create official topic.
Just few tips: Version 6.0.1.alpha.0.3 uses vendor image MTC19V.
I have installed it using this:
download rom and gapps, and if you don't have right version download latest vendor and recovery.
if you don't have recovery or vendor, start to bootloader mode, run:
fastboot flash vendor MTC19V_vendor.img
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-0-bullhead.img
boot to recovery
wipe data
install rom
install gapps
reboot
It is smooth, nice... Close to stock mm. Minimal. Waiting to see those "well known" Slim settings or so...
Wow, official slim...just flashed paranoid but I'm very tempted to try this, maybe I'll go with something like multirom or dual boot patcher

Stay on AOSPA, for now, cause Slim is on early stage, no matter it is pretty good.
Sent from my Nexus 5X using XDA-Developers mobile app
I tried both slim and paranoid.
Slim, I am old user, but none of the slim specific features are not included yet.
Paranoid, same.. I installed it by looking at the features posted on their official page, but still most of them are not added. So for now, continuing on DU, but as soon as they add the features i will grab them...
PA its suuuper smooth, really sweet to use, idk why but there's something different. Not so much features but I'm happy whit it for the moment.
Slim was my sweet point in KitKat in my old buddy N5 so I'll keep am eye on it's development.
DU maybe its the best feature rich ROM out there right now for N5X

In my opinion AOSP ROMs are better than CM based. I have tried almost every ROM for Moto X Style / Pure
There are only 2 which I liked most.
1) BrokenOS (Substratum Theme engine)
2) Dirty Unicorns (CM theme engine )
Happy Flashing
Another vote for du. Best ROM I've tried. I'm more of a cmte kind of guy though. Didn't really like substratum.

Pure Nexus is also good but if you going for substratum based ROM I will recomend you BrokenOS.
Battery life on BrokenOS is good as compared to Pure Nexus
Chop chop works on Broken OS

I find it to be the most stable and best battery life compared to 6.0.1 ROMS. I don't have to go through battery tweeking or screen dpi changes/dimming to keep my phone running for the day.

Rom stock vs custom rom

What is the best custom ROM for the lex727?
What ROM is better custom or stock?

Ask us, that how color do we like. S821 devices are monsters in performance, customizable is the most important thing for me. Stock ROM is fine if your target is battery life. If you don't like stock interface ect., you can check customs. Ex. I like AICP.

Aicp is better than Resurection remix?

"Better"... You should check and tell, which one DO YOU PREFER. AICP is my daily ROM.

AICP compare to stock aboutn battery???. I use Lingage 14.1 but battery is very bad compare to stock
Ofc depends of usage... For me it's aprox. 6,5 to 6h, sometimes less depends of build
how did you unlock bootloader and installed twrp on le pro 3 x727?

I would say that the stock is better, the Custom bear many mistakes, the best stock + root

I have been using the [8.1.x]DotOS v2.1 [LUX] [UNOFFICIAL] and for now it is really nice. I had got some problems during the instalation but after some tries everything works properly... The only problem is the NFC, that have to be eliminated and I am still trying to discover how to do it
