Anyone updated to this new firmware yet ?
I wonder if the update comes with june security patch. Mine stuck in april.
I'm concerned updating will do the same thing as last time - wipe root, TWRP, relock the boot and (potentially) the rest of my data

I updated manually,there is camera improvement and better battery,and the phone stay cooler than before.
It has may security not june.
Ps i was on c185b124 couldn't get the ota to b133 till i changed my sim card to another country.
But rebranded later to c636 to try this one .

Thanks for the info. I shall try out. B133 update was very bad for low night photography.

Sorry no,i changed my firmware to my original region.
Upgrading VKY-L29C636B151 for P10 Plus through Firmware Finder failed with this message: "This firmware is not approved for installation " . Anyone have a better suggestion ?

I've updated mine through Firmware Finder. If you follow the steps closely, you can't go wrong.

Hey guys, i need some info. My build number is stated in the title and here is my problem. There is no nougat info about my device, can someone help my?
I can't find any source for my device, when I check OTA it says there is no new updates available.
It's an EE device (same as mine) newest software is B160.

Same my model is b150 still didnt get the update
if you mean to say you can't find the update to nougat, it should rollout in the first quarter of 2017, so there's still about 2 weeks left

that's possible, it is being rolled out, not everyone gets it at the same time, just wait till the end of march, you should get it by then

The latest version is B580 for C185, whereas the other networks got new OTA over than B580 such as B596

And FRD-AL00C00B391 has all that faetures too. It seems like different upgrade numbers for different models.

Apart from the latest security patches and all 'optimisations' mentioned in the change log, there is nothing new.
Still in FRD-L09C432B389. Every time I check firmware finder it say not applicable to your imei. Is this safe. Its the only phone I have.

It is normal. To install the update you have to bypass authentication checks. You can check my guide about Flashing unapproved firmwares in the Guides forum.

Sp01 is also not available to flash but i did it by dload.

In italy no official OTA update. I'm using FRD-L09 (EU) and i'm still on B389. Hope it wont take ages to receive the OTA. Funny because it comes with August security patches...when probably will already be end of september or even october when the update becomes avaible xD. However i know i can update manually, but i prefer to wait for OTA. Last time i update with twrp i missed some options in "settings" so i want to avoid mistakes and errors

Yes OTA, I just got a notification in the update center and ran the update.

That depends on what variant you have, the official Oreo is out for the AL00, C636, and C432 regions, it's not out for the rest of us yet. You can rebrand to a C432 variant and install the European version (C432), or one of the others. Otherwise you'll have to wait on the official version to come out for your region

What is use FF?
Btw.. I noticed that.. After upgraded my mate 9 to oreo through OTA... There's something missing.
1: Vulkan api no longer supported.
Performance issues.
1: 3D mark scores with Oreo are worse than Nougat.
2: 2k and 4k downloaded videos and movies, lagging and stuttering while playing.. Especially with 60fps ( idk.. Perhaps 3rd app not optimised for oreo)
And i didn't face any of this problem with Nougat.
Btw.. I love the EMUI 8..

You should have added a model (MHA-L29) in FF. Usually you will find your model in parentheses; MHA-L29 8.0.0.361 (C636), for example. You'd better check firmware access before any updating or downgrading.
Yes, after upgraded to emui8, i found my mate 9 is terribly hang and lots of the apps crashed or spent more than 3mins just for ran it.
The interface is nice but the phone is too slow or taken too much of time to load.

Had the same and was steadily getting worse. Had emails not displaying, apps not opening etc.... Few days ago i wiped data and factory reset and so far its blisteringly fast once more and zero issues. Probably worth doing that for you.

Thanks, I wonder why they changed the naming convention.
My OTA update came in yesterday. Several important (to me) apps stopped working. I need to go back.
I'm not experienced with Huawei methods, so I need some pretty specific instructions to go back on US version. If anyone can point me to that it would be appreciated.
I am tempted to wipe and reload apps, but I have so much setup to do with that, I hate to take that time. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the two main apps I want working and they just won't work.

I have tried several times without success. Verification of the file comes up as failed. Not sure if it has been certified by Huawei. I am planning on flashing all three files through TWRP but I am a little skeptical about that. Any ideas out there?
I have also tried but it's still failed... But in firmware finder app... It's not approved... I think when they approve it... It will be installed without failure...
They released even newer b585 a couple of days ago , and still , can't update successfully

yep, nothing you can do about that. as long as a firmware is not approved for installation on FF youll have to wait for a proper release.
in the meantime, you can either check via HiCare app, via system updater, via Firmware Finder or via Huawei HiSuite for potential updates
In ff - approved for installation L29C185 B585. I'll be using this update while waiting for oreo.
