Firstly download the fastboot romhttp://update.miui.com/updates/v1/fullromdownload.php?d=land_global&b=F&r=global&n=
Then download MiFlash tool, u can find it on en.miui.com website.
Extract the fastboot rom package(u might need 7-zip)
Reboot your device to EDL mode, either by adb command "adb reboot edl" without quotes or powering off your device and then pressing and holding vol + and vol - and plugging in the usb cable
U need qualcomm's drivers which are included in mi flash tool
After you've setup everything, open mi flash, choose which command to use and flash
Backup everything before flashing

[Q] [HELP] Bricked G2 D801

Hello,
I tried to install custom recovery with AutoRec
however I didn't use IOroot like they suggested, I had rooted with TowelRoot
After which I was in fastboot mode without download mode.
I followed a guide and rewritten recovery and laf as well as all other img I could find at http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/D801BK/Stock_Firmware/10c_partitions
PHP:
fastboot erase recovery [return]
fastboot erase laf [return]
fastboot flash laf laf.img [return]
fastboot reboot [return]
I got to download mode, but my phone is not detecting the download mode (no usb connection, no usb connection sound)
If I plug in the phone regularly and let It boot - it is stuck at LG logo, and if I plug it in - I hear USB connection sound and it detects, however I can't use the flash tool (2015 or 2014) to flash it.
I changed the port to 41 like in the LG tool flash tutorial (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476)
Today I tried to go Ubuntu Linux path - and plugged it in in both download and regular mode (like in this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142)
and I didn't see it plugged in when I typed
PHP:
ls /dev/sd*
I am under windows 8.1
I also tried windows xp sp3 virtual machine
Anything else that you can suggest?
Thanks
Andrew

I can go to download mode, but computer doesnt recognize that it's connected (doesnt appear in device manager)
I can only do factory reset. (Vol Down + Power) thats the right way, correct?
Don't see any other options.
When I try to get out of the factory restore screen by pressing any vol up or down - it hangs

Softbrick REDMI 3S. Stuck at Mi Logo. Fastboot works. locked bootloader

Hai all , I am new here.
I need some help to unbrick my device. i tried almost all method and still no luck. the only method i havent tried is DFC, but i dont prefer to do it since its pretty complicated.
My device run rom Global Stable Miui 7 and i flashed Developer rom Global using EDL download mode.
there was an error and now my device stuck in Mi logo. I can still access Mi bunny fastboot ( vol down + power)
So far I have tried 3 methods
Method 1: reboot to fastboot mode, plug to pc, open ADB cmd prompt and type fastboot oem EDL. But no success because device is still locked bootloader.
Method 2: reboot to fastboot mode, plug in to pc, download fastboot EDL cmd from xda forum, unzip then run edll.cmd, device reboot to mi logo again.
Method 3: in Mi logo, plug in to pc, open cmd prompt, type Adb reboot edl, press enter but device cannot reboot to edl mode because it says I need to tap on confirmation dialog on device. But its not possible since device only load up to mi logo
Download the latest stable fastboot ROM from here http://en.miui.com/a-234.html then flash it.
Sent from my Redmi 3S using Tapatalk
If only it was that easy. I've tried 3 methods above but still no luck. Use Adb reboot edl, fastboot oem.
How to flash if its only stuck at mi logo
Because I had this exact same thing happened before. What I did was while it kept bootlooping at the Mi boot splash I held down Vol - + power until fastboot mode pops up. Then you'd be able to flash.

First off you cannot just unlock the bootloader easily, like in fastboot or anyhow, you need to follow the guides. And this is possible by the way only with a working Dev rom.
Well so now, you've to get miflash tool and flash either stock rom, or dev rom.
You simply hold power and volume down as long (can take some time) as it will show "fastboot" and some android art.
Then you follow the guides to flash either stock rom or dev rom using fastboot, and you're good to go.
I don't see why this wouldn't be working for you, try to stick exactly to what i said. If you don't know how to use Miflash then search at en.miui.com

Did you unlock developer mode as in my case I am also stuck in bootloop and fastboot oem edl is not working as developer mode is disabled thus oem is also disabled.
Hey!
I had the same Problem.
Flashing with Miflash was unsuccessfull and then EDL was locked. You can check this when the device is in fastboot and send "fastboot oem edl". Then there may be the message that EDL is locked. In that case you have to build a "deep flash cable". It is pretty easy. You can check this tutorial:
http://en.miui.com/thread-310325-1-1.html
But I would build it another way: Just cut a USB cable and reconnect all wirepairs with the open copper. Now you can just put "ground" and "data+" togehther and follow steps 7 to 9. At point 10 you can just disconnect the wires "ground" and "data+" again, so that all wires are connected normally again. Now you are in EDL and can flash with MiFlash.

My lenovo a6000 is hard bricked. PC not detecting it.

Hello all, I have a Lenovo a6000 smartphone. It was owned by my friend. She had a problem with the android os, so she went to a local store and the there it got hard bricked. Now if I turn it on it only vibrates once. no backlight or any picture. If I press and hold vol- and power buttons together LCD backlight turns on but no display. then it goes off and then again turns on. PC does not detect it. Can anyone help me getting it out from this state?

You need to have adb and fastboot drivers for your phone to correctly get detected.
Here's the LINK FOR QFIL TUTORIAL. You'll need another set of drivers called as the QCOM drivers which are mentioned in the tutorial from the above link.
Hope this helps.
I already have installed the drivers. Still not detected. Even the device manager does not show a device is connected

You should try changing the usb cable you are using. Or maybe that guy in the local repair shop didn't put the sub PCB board back correctly.

Lenovo A6000 doesn't come with a locked bootloader B-l
If you can boot into fastboot then you should flash twrp from it depending on the current android version of the device. If it had been on kitkat flash this TWRP v2.8.6.0 or if it has been updated to lollipop then flash the latest TWRP v3.1.0.
For this you need to first have the fastboot drivers installed and also the minimal adb and fastboot tool. Then place the required TWRP in that folder, better rename the file to 'recovery.img' and then in the CMD window which you open by Shift + Right Click first type
Code:
fastboot devices
To check whether your device is detected by the tool and haa got drivers installed correctly.
Later, if successful, type in
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Then you'll have TWRP recovery installed.
Then flash any ROM on the device using it.

Yeah bro I'm 100% positive. I think unknown command is displayed when you flash the wrong version of recovery.
You can also try
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
Sometimes only this works which temporarily boots into the custom recovery.

Also, you never mentioned what android version was the device on, earlier.

Relock bootloader B35

Here is my situation: I have a A2017U that was running on LOS 14.1 with an unlocked bootloader. The charging pins are wonky and I have to RMA the unit. I did find @DrakenFX files to restore to stock B35, but haven't been successful in relocking the bootloader using the toolkit and other methods. I tried downgrading to B19 using the toolkit but the phone is not recognized in EDL mode. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

after all that, what's your current situation?
* you still have twrp
* are you full stock
* did you install QCom drivers? (This is needed for the device to be seen in EDL mode)

Last 2 question and I'll give you a little guide to follow.
* You still have access to bootloader/fastboot mode? If so that's all you'll need for what I'm going to reply after your answer here.
* You have my :
- B35 Bootstack
- B35 StockSystem
- B35 stock recovery
If you have all 3 move to them again to sdcard , if you don't have them there already.
P.S. that isn't edl, did you boot to edl using: adb reboot edl ?

I tried booting into EDL mode using the 3 button combo, but I guess it didn't work as I'm on B35. The phone isn't being recognized by the PC because of the wonky charging, and that's why I'm unable to push the command through. I tried pushing the command in terminal emulator but that didn't work either. Is there any other way to boot into EDL mode? If I can just get this thing to boot into EDL mode, I can downgrade to B19 and lock the bootloader using the toolkit, I'm assuming.

if you can't send a command through terminal emulator how do you expect to do "fastboot oem lock" let alone flash a full EDL file?
AFAIK it would be as easy as flashing B19 then doing fastboot oem lock. But yeah, no USB means no EDL

Again, why do you want to enter EDL if you can't have a decent USB connection to a PC? What do you want to do? Flash a ROM? That takes about 5 minutes and any interruption on the data stream will surely wreak havoc on your device. Same with anything else that you want to try
You need superuser to use the command to reboot to edl. Otherwise you can use the vol+ vol- power combination but you WILL break your device beyond recognition. Total FUBAR.

I want to enter the edl/fast boot mode to relock the bootloader. I need to send the phone in for a warranty repair/replacement. The charging port is f in nicky but it isn't bad enough to not let me flash anything if I hold it at a certain angle. I still have twrp, but I'm guessing the faatboot command isn't working as I'm on B35. I feel like I could just brick the phone at this point and send it in to save me the headache.

Can't Get into EDL even with ADB

I have an A2017U, Android 7.1.1, build B35, on MiFavor 4.2 and was looking to upgrade to 5.2/Oreo. I get stuck because I can't boot into EDL mode. I have not unlocked the phone but do have developer options & USB debugging enabled. If I boot with vol up + vol down + power, nothing happens even if I wait 120 seconds. I get a slowly flashing red dot. ADB works fine -- my device is recognized -- and "adb reboot EDL" reboots the phone, but not into EDL mode, just into standard mode. MiFlash doesn't see the phone.
I'm clearly doing something wrong but I'm at a loss what, given how simple the instructions are.

Try "adb reboot edl" from a booted phone.
EDL actually IS a black screen, usually without an LED though it might be red. Open Device manager and check under "unrecognized devices", or under "Ports (COM & LPT)". Should be there. If it is under Ports and it is callee Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 then MiFlash should work
What are you planning to do? EDL back to B19 then unlock? Just curious

I plan to update to Oreo/MiFavor 5.2.
How do I issue the command from a phone? I know how to use ADB from a PC but not from a phone. That is what I have done -- enable developer options, connect the phone, verify that it is connected (adb devices) and then issue the command (adb reboot EDL).
Use the Edl tool by Djkuz
Install it to PC or laptop with all updated drivers
Open edl tool with run as admin
Boot your phone into ftm
Turn your phone off
Press and hold vol dn + power till you see ftm screen
Plug in your phone
Follow the on screen till it detects your phone
Select unlock then edl fix
Edl tool is here

Yes, but what are you going to do BEFORE updating to MF5.2?
you can't edl mifavor 5.2 because you will break stuff, besides you need an unlocked bootloader or you'll DFU brick your phone and you'll have to throw it in the trash.
I meant to issue adb reboot edl from your pc but with your phone on
On a side note, I recommend not using EDL Tool or axon7toolkit to unlock your phone. EDL Tool has a much better track record than other apps but it still has margin for error. The best way to unlock an A2017U is get a B19 EDL package and install it with MiFlash, then enter Fastboot and do "fastboot oem unlock".
Worked!

That worked, thanks!
Ive used all of the Axon 7 tools as well as adb commands and all work well in there own ways.
Script errors or command errors can be an issue as well as some software (ROMs, recovery and boot imgs) a few times I've had to edit a zip or img to make it work.
After a few boot loops on my HTC.
Is there an official MiFavor Update on 5.2?
My phone is still on 4.2 and can't find any updates.

only for Chinese (A2017) phones. It's 8.0 mifavor with the new mf5.0 interface (way more Chinese-looking). If you want to install it on a G or U you'll have to use one of the packages made for them (Usually for an update from other model to work you need to change its modem file to the one that your model uses, i.e. swap the chinese modem with the G's).
