I have a problem after the last update to 7.1.1. The phone is open and i plug it on charger for all night. The phone cannot start in the morning and the alarms never ring. When they call me, it seems closed.... I cannot open the phone with power button...
To open the phone, i have to press for some seconds the power button and the volume buttons together, to reset the phone.
Do you know something about it?

Hi guys, I hope I can type this coherently.
I have a g3 wizard that I have flashed many times over the last year or so. Lately the power button has stopped working. I can get the phone to turn on by plugging it in, and then holding in the camera/voice buttons and THEN hitting the power button. It goes into the rainbow screen, and I just soft reset via the hole on the side. At that point it is on and running fine, but the power button does nothing.
The power button does nothing at all unless I plug the phone in, and then only if I go to bootloader. It seems to work just fine to do that-which is what is stumping me. I thought the button was just broken. The charge/battery lights do come on.
For now I have it set to never turn off, so I try to make sure it doesn't run too low. The battery life seems ok. Any tips? I want to be able to put the phone to sleep again...

Just got the N7 for the wife to test out, she notices when the screen is off for a while in sleep mode, and she hits the power button to wake it up it does not wake up right away, she sometimes has to do it 2 or 3 times, or it won't wake at all and then she has to hold the power button down, then when it wakes up, she has to back out to get out of powering down. Is this normal.
So since I have not a FR because I thought it might be the recent update to 4.1.1 that created this issue or a rogue app that I installed. now the power button won't do a thing, the only way to wake the unit up, is to plug in the charger, any suggestions before I take it back to the store today. TIA
I've had my phone less than 2 weeks. Woke up this morning, woke up phone to check email and browse facebook. Clicked a video to watch. Tried to turn the volume up. Hit volume rock up once and volume goes all the way up like I was holding it down. Same for volume down. Ok weird. Went to restart phone and held power button. Nothing happened. Apparently power button has stopped working. Waited a while and kept playing on phone. Power button starts working again. Restarted phone. It came on with the volume adjustment at the top and wouldn't go away. Power button unresponsive again. Thoughts? After googling, I feel like i'm the only person this has ever happened to...

My phone had switched off yesterday night. I woke up on horror to find that the battery is totally drained and my power button had stopped working for a long time.
I followed these steps (I am not sure if it would work in your case, but it did in mine)
P.S. I had installed power button to volume button a long time ago in my phone, not sure if this is due to that app, but I removed the app within a day.
Plug the phone via USB to laptop
Hold the volume up button for a few seconds
Leave the volume up button.
After doing this, magically enough, my phone restarted!

i have my phone for almost 7 months already. my phone went black and it wouldnt charge nor turn on. it wouldnt also turn on the LED blue light. been doing all the tips i can do. dont know if my phone is dead nor anything. cant feel no vibrate nor anything at all. i think my phone is dead dead. can you guys please help me. i got important phone calls and everything that i need to get it done. let me know asap. thanks!!!
If it doesn't charge, won't turn on, and doesn't vibrate, sounds like it's dead! Get in touch with Samsung about a replacement

if you can charge it, can you get into download or recovery mode using button combinations?
Have you really tried *all* the possible 'tricks'? I remember the exact situation you just described happened to me a couple months ago. I left my phone charging overnight and when I woke the phone did not respond at all to any button smashing or resetting etc.. so what I did was, hold down the power button, Bixby button (not sure if that was necessary at all), and the volume *down* button all the same time (like you would press ctrl + alt + delete on a keyboard). I held it for 10+ seconds and at last my phone entered the recovery mode set-up which prompted me to press the volume down button once again to restart the phone. If you haven't tried this, give it a go!
