Unlock wont unlock! urgent!

Hey guys my hd has locked it's self i can bring it out of standby but it wont unlock the touch screen.
have done 3 hard resets and it gets to the "tap screen to continue" screen but still says "unlock" in the bottom left corner.
it wont allow me to unlock it.
i am running the stock rom 6.1 on orange uk.
can anyone help?

does that corner of the screen work? what happens if you press phone? do you get the dialer? it could be that the screen doesn't work.

the soft keys doesn't work apart from the hang up key which vibrates and lights the screen. But when i touch the unlock button nothing happens. if i press the volume control i get the htc volume control as well

Well I had this problem once and only thing which worked was when I connected the phone to the power for charging and it immediately unlocked.

have you tried going into bootloader mode? if you can, then try install a new ROM...

Ok i didnt mean the soft keys. There is a option in the bottom left corner of the screen that says phone, i was wondering if you touch that corner does it work.
Also if only 1 of the soft keys are working you have a another issue as well. I would be getting in touch with orange and looking at sending it backfor now. I would flash any custom roms as this will affect the warranty. Look into keeping the warranty in tact until the issues have been resolved.
1 thing you could try is flashing the original rom again. See if you can find the orange ROM (it's on here somewhere) and reflash with this and it might solve some of the issues as this will do a little more than a ard reset will.

thanks for your feedback guys. Nothing i did made any difference so it's gone to HTC to either a: fix or b: replace. i was lucky in that i hadnt flashed any roms into it yet as i didnt wont to invalidate the warrenty and that orange being s#it, wont even let me upgrade the stock ROM. grr. will post on here when i find out what it is.

no idea what was wrong with it and they replaced the whole touch screen.

HELP! Touch screen no longer working!

This morning, my touch screen suddenly stopped working. Hardware keys are still working but device is not responding when the screen is touched. Already tried a hard reset but no success, now I am stuck at the align display screen. Also can no longer get to the bootmenu, so can't reflash my device! Any suggestions on what's wrong or how this can be fixed? Thanks for any help!!!!

Didn't you see any spots (like oil spots on the water) to the touch screen ?
I had the same problem .I replaced the touch screen and the phone is working again .

No, nothing, was working fine at night, when i woke up just randomly stopped working. The display is not cracked or anything, so wondering whether a screen replacement will do the trick? ALso strange that I can no longer get to the bootscreen to enter HardSPL...

Had the same problem, the issue (with mine anyhow) was the digitizer, which is an overlay that sits on top of the actual LCD screen to give it touch capability....

I had a similar problem,
To get past the Align screen I had to apply pressure to the top of the screen opposite side of front facing camera - then use the screen as normal
I reflashed the original rom (manually getting to bootloader) - it worked for a bit but ended up sending is back to 02 for repair.
All they did apparently, was to reflash the ROM again and its been working since.

Had the same problem a couple of times a while ago, when i was trying out WM6.5.
All buttons worked but not the touch screen. Never really found out exactly what the problem was, but the first time I managed to get it working again by resetting the alignment:
While gps button pressed (under green button), press center D-pad button this will bring you to alignment screen.
The other time the "alignment trick" didn't work, but i got it working again, after flashing the original ROM couple of times. (And doing hard reset between each time)

You say you can't get to the boot menu, do you run hard-SPL?

most likely its an hardware issue - had this one too, of course out of nowhere!
flash with original rom and if you cannot align screen (as the hardware seems to be broken) send it in for repair. it will be under guarantee, if screen isnt broken.

I had similar problem, I passed the alignment but i had a huge offset in the touch.
I replaced the touch screen and it solved the problem.
You can find it in ebay for 1 US $.

Thanks for all the help guys!!! I do run hard-SPL and have flashed many ROMS - just don't know why it won't enter the bootscreen anymore when I reset the device and press the camera button. Did manage to upload original ROM again by using activesync, now trying to restore original hard-SPL so I can send off the device for repair.

Hi, i had also the same problem, i find a threat in the internet... try to push the upper corners on the device with your fingers and then tab on the screen to see if the problem solved.

I had the same issue.
Its more than likely your digitizer. I tried flashing 100 different roms but always stuck at the align screen stage.
I actually have the barely used digitizer if anyone wants it (for a few dollars of course hehe) My mainboard died a couple of weeks after i installed the digitizer.
needless to say i moved away from the ****ty build quality of HTC to the MUCH better build quality of the iPhone.

My htc break down and make a strange thing.

Hi guys, some months ago my htc is fall by my jeans and it break down. So i've buyed an lcd by brando hk (the same that sell screen protector) an lcd with digitalizer. Ok the pack arrive, i replace the lcd and is perfect. Work every etc. I had used for 1 day and some hours.. The next day i tidy up, start the htc and ok. I put in standby by pressing the button on the top.. After some minutes i re-press that button for use it because i've received a sms and don't work. So i reboot the phone, and nothing. It is only the lcd that don't work, because the feedback vibration work, if i call my phone ring and etc etc. But i don't see nothing. So very very angry i shutdown the htc. The next day again i try to use it and make the same play. So i contact the brando hk and ask to send me another lcd + digitalizer. They ship to me. Arrive, i replace it again. I use that for 30minutes and after make the same problem -.-" again, and again, and again. Guys please help me, i want re-use my fabolous phone
I don't think that is a software problem, because i've changed different rom and make a lot of full reset.

I have the same issue: a fall, but not on the LCD side.
As you, my blaskstone works fine (i verified with MyMobiler software), but, on the screen, nothing
After many search i found a strange thing:, my LCD works only when i launch from the phone (with MyMobiler), the SSPL-Manual-TouchHD (see HardSPL thread).
And, i saw the three colors screen, with a corrupted Model ID/DeviceID, it looks like ˆDB instead of BLAC100
So, you can try also the SSPL-Manual for confirm your LCD still works, and deviceID is correct.

My screen sometimes work.. Now i've also updated the rom with another one, thinking that is a software problem but nothing. 1 of 8-9 reboot i've seen the three colors screen! And now nothing.

Guys i've used the phone for 5 long minutes!!! That see isn't a problem of lcd

Doesn't work touchscreen

I have Htc Hd2 phone.A few days ago unlock screen doesn't not work.I pull lock screen down but it did not respond.A few days ago sometimes it work sometimes don't work.But now it does not work at all.I can't unlock screen and when finish instal android and android requires me to I fill information and touchscreen doesn't work again.What to do ?And SIM pin can not enter.
I have install many androids and windovs mobile but it don't work.
My htc hd2 has not been dropped or anything damaged.

Happened to me 2 weeks ago. Touchscreen didnt work at all, across all 3 operating systems. I had no choice but to flash my phone back to factory settings in winmo. Had to remove HSPL aswell. Then off to repair for HTC
Alls good now though

plenty of people have the same problem as yours and posts about how to solve the problem are already in their respective threads.
Here's the most common cause for your problem:
the digitizer wire goes right under the power button, so if you press too hard you damage that wire bit by bit. The only solution for that is replacing the digitizer yourself, or flash back to stock ROM and send it for maintenance, and next time don't press the power button hard.

This happened to mine today and did everything this site said to do, soft reset/hard reset, nothing worked. Tmobile shop couldn't help and tech support couldn't help. They wanted me to buy a new phone. Out of desperation I checked out a HTC site htcphones.net and found the solution.
PRESS THE RED END BUTTON REALLY HARD!.
That will do the trick and set you free....

found the solution elsewhere ..
may be its some static carbon or dust or some mechanical issue or may be red button got stuck which cozed screen freeze and unable to unlock issue
and i thought it was my ICS install . or VIRUS / MALWARE .. !!

This is a temporary solution, you should think to replace your touchscreen...

believe me u will need to replace the digitizer, sooner or later it will be completely unresponsive, I just replaced mine (touch screen + digitizer) a few days ago and it's been working fine since then. It's a known issue with some HD2s

am starting to agree on that ...
