Bootloader unlocking problem - Moto G4 Plus Questions & Answers

Yesterday i visited moto care centre and they flash firmware. Thereafter I tried to unlock my bootloader at home with my previous unlock code but show error with key. I requested on motorola site to get bootloader code again by entering oem get unlock data but it shows bootloader cannot be unlocked. Before yesterday I lock and unlocked bootloader several times but now after service centre visit it is not unlocking. Searched other thread but none works even tried to contact motorola but they also have no idea.

I am not toooo good but i guess the passkey is changed correct me if i am wrong and i am not sure abt it

The data string u get while typing
"fastboot oem get unlock data" might be changed.
Do the complete process again by getting that string and putting it on the Moto site and get the unlock key on your mail. Maybe there would be a different key this time.

Already did that.. But now at moto site after putting unlock data it is showing not available for unlocking..

Make sure you connect your Google account to Motorola account in phone settings.,..and allow unlocking bootloader in developer settings....

Exactly. Your Moto I'd should be logged in.
I was facing this issue your device not available for unlocking. And when I signed in it was all fine. Try that out.
That's all I know.

It was due to server error of moto.. Continuously submitting the unlock data for 6-7 times solve the problem

Can't find enable OEM unlock option in dev option. Can't unlock bootloader

I got the unlock code and everything. Installed drivers, got everything in place but when I use the command " fastboot oem unlock "key"
It fails and shows me a remote error along with this
Enable OEM unlock in dev option .
But I can't see that option in dev options and iam fed up with this. I tried searching Google but no luck. I checked the cid to see if it is unlockable and the string was endling with " 007 " means unlockable.
Iam running marshmello ota. All factory. No root nothing..
Any help would be really appreciated. I just want to install cyanogen

Take a look at this thread in Lenovo/Motorola forums (currently 74 pages long), it seems you're not the only one that has this issue (e.g. post #10 [last post in page 1], post #14 [4th post in page 2] and post #15).
Go to settings/apps/all/settings and clear data only , then go back to about phone/ build number 7 times ,enable developer options oem unlock may be present. Try this.
had the same issue
SOLVED
I was fiddeling with my moto X 2nd and stuck on the same issue.
Running a OTA 6.0 stock unbranded FW Moto X 2nd
Same problem, no OEM UNLOCK under Dev options.
then gave up on the phone and started playing around with fastboot mode and went into recovery to have a peek, and solved the issue.
detailed info for other googelers:
(VOL DOWN while pressing POWER, release POWER after a few seconds still holding VOL DOWN for a few more extra seconds takes you to FASTBOOT, from there select RECOVERY, and when the broken android appears, press POWER to get into RECOVERY)
Cleared my CACHE partition and after that made a FACTORY RESET under RECOVERY and then REBOOT
Restarted phone and did the initial setup, selected not to enable REMOTE PROTECTION (this might also be the reason the allow oem unlock button was enabled, as said, have no clue what made it work)
And Voila! the "allow oem unlock" button was there after enabeling DEVELOPER OPTIONS and I could enable it and unlock the bootloader.
maybe the formatting of cache partition did the trick since it was OTA updated, i have no clue, but it is now there.
this helped me clean kingroot

I was messing with my pos alcatel pixi phone trying to root and unlock and installed kingroot, big mistake it was very hard to get rid of. I finally got it to uninstall but it left behind a com.kingroot. Doing this procedure enabled me to uninstall it when previously I was unable. THANKS

You can get your unlock code from the Motorola website: https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/standalone/bootloader/unlock-your-device-a
As the website mentions, this will void the rest of your warranty once your device is unlocked, though there are reports on XDA of people getting their devices serviced even after a bootloader unlock. Your experience may vary.
Also, I'd recommend toggling OEM unlock on - you can get to this by going into Settings > About Phone, and tapping 7 times on the build number section. Go back to the main Settings menu and you should see Developer Options has appeared. Go into the Developer Options and scroll to OEM unlocking, and toggle it on before you boot to unlock your bootloader.
So the method would be:
1 - Toggle OEM unlock in the Developers Options
2 - Follow the Motorola website instructions to unlock your bootloader
3 - Wait whilst it wipes your data
4 - Boot and enjoy your unlocked phone
Good luck!

You need to check your driver to recognize the device. With the command "fastboot devices" there you should see your devices serial number. If not = driver, cable, firewall problem or your device is not in fastboot mode

Did you by chance purchase the Amazon-exclusive variant of the device (with the ads to reduce the price)? They're both the same, except you can't unlock the Amazon version's bootloader.
Also, try opening developer options (tap the build number 7 times, press the back key, and then the new developer options menu that appeared) and then enabling the "OEM unlocking" option. Then try unlocking the bootloader again via fastboot.

Unable to unlock with MI account after unlocking bootloader

Hello !
As written in the title I've just unlock my phone's bootloader.
And after rebooting the device, it's now in lock state and it ask me my mi account's password.
I use my phone number for log into my MI account.
Anyway I tried every password I'm using since 2012 but nothing worked, so I decided to reset my password cause impossible to guess it.
But even with that, the phone continue to tell me that the password is incorrect.
I try to relock bootloader, flash a global rom in fastboot mode and the unlock tool (wich also told me that my password don't match my account and I need a 6 digits verification code (wtf?)), but my phone is still locked.
Can anyone help me ? I really don't want to buy a new phone just because I did something wrong, I really messed up this time..
Cheers !
