Smart Lock Trusted place - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hi guys,
I use fingerprints security for screen lock type with PIN.
I can unlock my phone with swipe, but where I am this time that place is not Trusted Place.
I have just one Trusted Place (home).
Can anybody have a similar problem?
Thanks,
Viktor

I think I found the solution.
Applications / Show system apps / Google Play Services & Google Play Services for Instant Apps
Storage and delete all data.
That's it.

Unfortunately no, I didn't find the solution.
Any idea guys?

Did 4.2 update reset Play Store PIN?

So I let my 7 year old son play some games on my Nexus 7.
Next thing I get a bunch of emails from Google Play: in-app purchase receipts!! Racked up quite a tidy sum on my credit card.
I have a PIN set in Play Store settings so figured he had managed to work it out. Went to change the PIN, only to find that no PIN was set at all.
I know for a fact I haven't disabled it so the only other thing I can think of is that the 4.2 update reset it.
If so, thanks for the warning Google!
It's quite possible. The Play Store PIN is NOT secure. All your kid needs to do is go to Settings / Apps and clear Play Store data, and the PIN goes away.
What they really need is a *server*-side enforced system, that you can set per-device or globally.

Android Wear Newbie - some (probably simple) questions

So... just got me a Huawei watch and while I love the look and feel, I have some issues/questions/hopes that i figure you guys will know
Just for detail, I'm using my watch with a Xperia Z5
1. Is it possible to hide notifications on watch face so that they only appear on swipe up? Failing that, is it possible to at least hide them on the 'deactivated' watch face, only to show when i 'activate it'?
2. When using voice I quite frequently get offline errors, despite being connected according to the phone and main screen - anything I can do here??
Related to this:
How can I stop the phone waking in my pocket when voice does connect? Leads to things happening in my pocket
3. Google Maps
- Can i get Google maps to default to walking?
- Frequently Google maps doesn't navigate properly at all - sticks on recalculating or just fails
- Can I get Google maps voice directions on watch not on phone?
4. I would like to set notifications on my phone to the watch - i've seen this option - but i still want to get the apps I've blocked notifications on the phone... possible?
5. App questions
- Is it possible to hide apps from the list at all? I tried a few of the other launchers but I keep getting Screen Overlay errors so have had to delete...
- Is there a better Agenda app that shows more than just today? (found Agenda Wear but can hardly read anything on that!)
- There seems to be a built in find my phone, but it doesnt work. Downloaded a separate app and it does does - any ideas?
- I seem to have three fitness apps on my writs... Google Fit vs Daily Tracking vs Fitness Tracking - do i need them all? Is one the core in which others are reliant?
- I seem to get a reboot when removing and often adding an app - is this usual?
6. How can I change contacts shown? Seems to be most recent except I alse get the first phonbook entry alphabetically who I rarely contact for some reason
A lot of questions I know - thanks in advance for any insight!!

Hi vaderag, i answer the first question:
Yes, you can set this from:
Phone -> Android wear app -> configuration -> moto 360 (established connection) -> cards preview

Third-Party password/PIN for lockscreen?

Hi all,
I just ordered a Joying 5.1 HU. I've read there is no stock lockscreen option. I was wondering if anyone had a solution for password locking this HU or similar devices through a lockscreen/after reboot. I'd like to use my main google play account with it, but don't want to expose it to a potential thief who steals the unit. Is there any third party app that enables this? Do people usually use a secondary account instead, or is this just not a huge concern? Thanks!

Security and smart lock

I do not have an Android head unit yet but I've been looking into security options. Case use examples where you'd want security, if you need to leave your car with a service centre; if you let a family member or friend use the vehicle; worst case scenario if it gets stolen. In all scenarios people would have access to your Google account (Gmail, Play Store, Calendar etc).
So far the solutions I've seen are:
1. Don't use your primary Google account. This is the most secure, but also the least convenient.
2. Using AppLock and other apps. I haven't tried this on any Android device so I don't know how truly secure it is at locking sensitive apps and data. I'm not even sure how convenient it really is.
Here's an idea for a third option for Lollipop and above head units, that in theory is the most elegant solution provided they have the same security functionality as the stock Android OS.
1. Enable the lock screen feature in the Android settings so it requires a pin to login.
2. Employ the smart lock feature in Android so the head unit unlocks when it detects a trusted device, such as a Bluetooth connection with your smartphone, your Fitbit, etc.
3. Add a guest user account to the head unit for times when someone else will use the car so they can still use basic features, but not access your sensitive data.
I'm not sure how this would affect boot time, or if the aforementioned security features have been disabled in these head units, etc. Let me know if this would work.

Have you been able to get this working? I am also looking for a similar solution to stay secure while keeping primary Google account.

The unit I've got had half of the Settings menu disabled, including Lockscreen. Before I rooted it and installed normal settings I used activity shortcut to get to the hidden menu options. I described it here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73282307&postcount=6
For some reason unlock with trusted devices mostly doesn't work. But overall it works and device is not accessible unless you enter pin.

Enable Google Play Services - Why?

SOLVED: Figured out that if you press and hold the message that comes up you get a menu in which you can choose to no longer receive notifications from that particular app. So, not an elegant solution but it works for now. Not that anyone else is crazy enough to want to delete everything Google on their Google OS Android phone. But hey.
So, I have a Moto G4 XT1625 off of Amazon (no-ads) that I've unlocked the bootloader and rooted (Android 7.0 oem through the updater before root). I don't want any Google apps or services or my Google account on the phone, so I used Titanium Backup to freeze all of it, including Google Playstore, Google Play Services and Google Play Framework. All other obvious Google apps have been frozen or uninstalled. I've used as many open source apps off repositories like F-Droid as I can and the phone runs super fast, no ads (Adaway, ofcourse) and the battery lasts noticeably much longer with no Google crapware churning in the background.
My problem is that when starting some apps, the phone complains:
"Enable Google Play services
__________ won't work unless you enable Google Play services."
The blank space is the name of whichever app I'm trying to open that supposedly requires Google PS, which is a lie because they all work perfectly fine. The nag message is just annoying and I'd like to know what I need to freeze to get rid of this. Any help would be appreciated.
Quite a few years later, and your solution has helped me get rid of that annoyance. You're not the only crazy, there's at least two of us. The only thing I want to give to google is the finger
Thanks again mate.
