Tell me... After unlocking bootloader and installing twrp recovery, did you directly flash RR without letting the phone boot into stock rom? If you did so.. now
1. install stock rom using SPflash tools then again unlock bootloader and install recovery,
2. first flash the required files to root your device (don't forget to delete recoveryfromboot.p file) and then let your phone boot.
3. Now you enter twrp recovery and you can flash any rom you want to without any internal storage problem.
Tested myself :fingers-crossed:

* Reflash stock rom via adb
* Flash TWRP via adb
* Flash ROM and dont wipe your internal storage..
* just wipe cache, dalvik, data, system

where can i find recoveryfromboot.p?

In twrp, click ADVANCED, then file manager,
Then goto system folder, scroll down to find that file.

Reduced internal storage to about 450 mb after installing twrp.

I installed twrp using adb in my lenovo k4 note (A7010a48) after which the internal memory of my device reduced to 450 mb from 16 GB and I installed official resurrection remix in it. Though the storage option from settings shows 16 GB memory out of which 14 GB is used by system while in twrp it shows only 450 mb. Now due to this I would like to reinstall my stock ROM and stock recovery and get my storage and volte back. Please tell me if there are any ways. Also when I try to open my recovery there is a black screen only. Thanks in advance.
Actually that happened for me too.. I found that it happens when I unlock the bootloader, boot to recovery , deleting "boot_from_recovery.p" and WITHOUT flashing super su nor booting to system, directly flashing any other twrp recovery or wiping the Dalvik cache, system, data, the recovery finds our sdcard (internal storage) partition as 774 MB or in your case 450 MB. So to get rid of these things, flash s232 firmware again unlock bootloader, boot to recovery, delete the file "boot from recovery.p", flash SuperSU, clear Dalvik cache and cache, let the phone boot to system ( normal startup) and then reboot to recovery and voila! You will find internal storage as usual .:good:

Is there any way I can skip flashing the firmware and do this with the custom rom installed? Also, where is the "boot_from_recovery.p" file located? xda says /system but I can't find it there.

Try factory resetting from twrp as mohan mentioned above.. if it did not worked, probably that's the only way.
Figured out how to get rid of this issue: After installing stock rom, unlocking bootloader and flashing TWRP through ADB: you have to reboot into system (stock ROM), go through the setup and only then are you able to go back into TWRP to wipe and flash the custom ROM of your choice (in this case RR, without having full internal storage).
regarding internal storage issue
Is your solution will fix my internal storage problem
Fixed it for me so yes
While flashing RR, I also ended up in the same position. Here's how I fixed it:
1) Post flashing RR, goto bootloader and flash recovery-mohan-n.img
2) reboot to recovery
3) click on wipe and then select format data (option next to advance wipe).
4) Once format is complete, go back to main screen and Reboot to system.
Hence the problem shall be resolved.
PLS HELP!!!

How can I install Oxygen OS 5.0.1 with an unlocked bootloader?

Good day!
Our country just received the Oxygen OS 5.0.1 update.
How can I install it with an unlocked bootloader?
I was going to relock it but I found out that if I did, my data will be gone.
The only difference in the set-up of my phone from a stock OP5 is the unlocked bootloader.
Flash through stock recovery

What do you mean?
I tried to update my phone using the normal way but after downloading and tried to install it, it failed because my bootloader is unlocked.
I just made a backup of data using codeworkx recovery. Copied the backup (Along with the files on userdata I wanted to keep) to my PC.
Wiped all and formatted data. Then installed Oreo and copied back the files and data backup from the pc to the phone and restored data with codeworkx recovery again.
Then flashed magisk 15.2 and rebooted.
Everything working fine now.

I managed to flash Nougat without locking my bootloader. But I also had to Format the Data partition to make it work. I used Titanium Backup to backup the data of the Apps and Myapplist to make a list of the apps. After installing Oreo I only needed to spent 1 hour to restoring the app data.

This is what I did:
Downloaded OnePlus5Oxygen_23_OTA_028_all_1801031502_04d7cc5. zip, twrp-3.2.1-0-universal-codeworkx-cheeseburger.img and Magisk-v15.3.zip.
Rebooted to TWRP and installed the Codeworkx TWRP using the Install->Image option inside TWRP.
Rebooted to TWRP again to make sure that my TWRP was updated.
Entered WIPE from TWRP main menu and used the 'Format' option to Format the Data and typed 'Yes'
This deleted my Internal Storage so I had to backup everything beforehand.
Then used advanced wipe to wipe Cache and Dalvik.
Mounted the internal storage by using the Mount option from TWRP main menu.
I was having problem copying files to the internal storage so I rebooted TWRP and the problem was fixed.
Copied the OnePlus full update and Magisk zip file.
Installed the OnePlus full update and Wiped Cache and Dalvik and rebooted the device to make sure that the OS boots.
Then rebooted the device to fastboot to flash Codeworkx TWRP again because it was unavailable.
Booted into TWRP and flashed Magisk.
I am now on Oreo and I hate the way Ambient Display looks right now.

I honestly dont see a big difference yet, but only had it for two days. Feels a bit snappier, my signal a bit stronger, and probably an improvement with battery life. I had issues upgrading but then again I flashed the wrong version of magisk. I think the most important thing is the latest android security update.

Hey, thanks.. I will update later today. I see you provided which version of twrp (twrp-3.2.1-0-universal-codeworkx-cheeseburger.img). But what is the difference between the version you noted and the one I found (twrp-3.2.1-0-oreo-8.0-codeworkx-cheeseburger.img)
I want to make sure I have the correct version.
Thanks again

You can ask that question on the TWRP thread. May be they can answer it correctly. I guessed that twrp-3.2.1-0-universal-codeworkx-cheeseburger.img was for both Nougat and Oreo and that is why I used it. So, if you want to be sure you should ask that on a TWRP thread.

Hello, I was reviewing the process and just downloaded everything onto my computer and transferred onto my phone but have a few questions regarding some of the steps.
* Rebooted to TWRP and installed the Codeworkx TWRP using the Install->Image option inside TWRP
** Can I update TWRP via the official app and is that version of TWRP okay to use over the "twrp-3.2.1-0-universal-codeworkx-cheeseburger.img"
* Entered WIPE from TWRP main menu and used the 'Format' option to Format the Data and typed 'Yes' / This deleted my Internal Storage so I had to backup everything beforehand.
** How, what and where did you back up your data? Because later you mentioned "deleted my Internal Storage". I am guessing that because the OP5 does not have an external SD card everything is wiped and the new OS 5.0.1 needs to be saved onto a computer and then re-transferred back onto the phone. I am also guessing that the backup will need to be saved onto a computer as after wiping the phone it would also delete that file too, correct?
* Mounted the internal storage by using the Mount option from TWRP main menu.
** I am assuming that this option after the data wipe is self explanatory?
* I was having problem copying files to the internal storage so I rebooted TWRP and the problem was fixed.
** This is what makes be believe all the files should be on a computer. How did you reboot and when you did, does it go directly / back to TWRP?
* Installed the OnePlus full update and Wiped Cache and Dalvik and rebooted the device to make sure that the OS boots. / Then rebooted the device to fastboot to flash Codeworkx TWRP again because it was unavailable.
** I am guessing here that once OS v8 is installed the TWRP img is no longer on the phone. I would need to transfer the TWRP back onto the phone then re-flash? Could I just install the TWRP official app and flash that way?
Thanks

Yes I am currently rooted. Once I flash the new OS will I still have root access to use the TWRP official app? Is that why after flashing new OS you need to flash TWRP via fastboot?

But this makes no sense to me.
I have formatted my phone / wiped data / have the full rom & magisk on my "/sdcard" / went to install zip via TWRP, selected the rom and received the error message.
I decided to just go and upgrade via OTA and that failed. My phone has rebooted back to stock

can I create a new partition maybe the current one is broken or why is nothing stored there.?
ps: Internal Storage can´t be Repair or change File System in Wipe/Advanced Wipe option repair or change file system
First things first, try booting regardless, every time I flash the stock Oreo rom V20A, it says no os installed
(I recommend having an SD card to put the rom on) go to wipe and format your data, once having done that wipe everything Dalvik, Data, System, Cache. But not the SD card. Then after that, go to flash, select your SD card then flash the rom.

You said you are on marshnallow.. Detailed step below.
1. Update to the latest nougat firmware using ota. Because lateat firmware is needed for oreo roms. Else you will face tons of bugs and problems.
2. Download recovery from same thread of the oreo rom you are using. Oreo roms need vendor partition, so it needs recovery that supports it.
Download the rom and gapps also.
5. Copy the rom, recovery image and gapps into the memory card. Boot into fastboot mode. Connect to pc. You can boot to fastboot by using command "adb reboot fastboot" without quotes.
4. Unlock the bootloader by connecting to pc via fastboot.(steps to unlock is given in the xda guide section or k6 power.)
5. Boot into twrp recovery image using fastboot. Your phone will reboot to recovery.
6. Using recovery install the recovery image from it by going to "install option" then selecting file type as image and selecting recovery image file.
7. Reboot recovery.
8. Format data to remove encryption. After that you can access internal storage. Wipe data, cache, dalvic cache, system, data and internal storage.
9. Flash the rom file. Flash the gapps.
10. Reboot to system from twrp.
If you can understand any steps above you can google. If you cant understand google, then forget about doing it. Because you will eventually break your phone. Give it to someone who knows in that case.
Lol I will not brick my device.I can get back to marshmallow anytime! The only problem I was having before was the device wouldn't show anything(0mb) on internal storage on booting in the ROM.Is this normal.Maybe the ROM is encrypted. On nougat this is not happening on any ROM.Currently Iam on nougat(stock). It shows internal storage only after formatting data but reinstalling the ROM and booting again in recovery it shows 0mb on internal storage.

Reinstalling the rom means it is again getting encrypted. By default encryption is on in stock rom. So you have to format data to break encryption. Otherwise you cant access internal storage. You need latest firmware (nov security patch) for oreo roms.

Boot to recovery (I reccomend orangefox) wipe cache, dalvik, data, system > flash rom > flash gapps (optional) > flash magisk (optional) if after reboot it ask for password you have to format data (i've noticed that if you flash magisk before booting the system the password isn't required). If you come from miui maybe you need to flash vbmeta before rom (i'm not sure but it doesn't hurt)

If you don't have SD Card then don't wipe Internal Storage. But Clean Flash always recommend.

Ok so if you want to reinstall your app and data after flashing the rom you can backup with titanium backup or migrate. Reboot to recovery and wipe cache, dalvik, system and data after this flash the rom (you can flash it from internal storage) after the rom without rebooting to the system flash gapps (optional) and magisk (I reccomend to flash magisk so you can restore the backup and it avoid to have the problem with password request). Reboot to system

Maybe you have wiped also internal storage or format data? If you wipe just cache, dalvik, data and system you must found the files in the download folder.
Thank you bro

You're welcome. Aniway you can always download the needed files in your pc then connect the phone to it and transfer the files in the internal memory

I think that if you reboot to recovery and enable mtp you can detect the phone from pc but i'm not 100% sure. I don't play game. For now i'm on official havoc and i like it other roms that i like are aosmp and syberia
